Hi,
I was planning on grabbing a new pc but I think I will wait till next year for more stock to be available.
My current system has an i7 5320k (can’t remember exact atm)
16 gig of ram and a 980ti.
I only really play wow atm so would my system handle it untill I can upgrade?
I have been bought a 1440p 165hz monitor for an early Christmas present and would like to use it.
Low pop areas, lower graphical settings I would say yes.
The monitor will work fine, if it’s variable refresh like Freesync or G-Sync then you’re good to go.
It’s doable but don’t think you’ll hit it with graphic setting 7 or above.
That system is more than fine for WoW.
God-mode display. WoW overall will not run way above 100 FPS, especially without a bleeding edge CPU with bleeding tight RAM timings and clocks. If it has FreeSync or GSync you can check that out.
im using a gtx 770 and i7-4770k, recently bought a 49” samsung ultrawide monitor (will go with my new pc build which will have an rtx 3080 in it once it arrives). The monitor runs up to 5120x1440 resolution, I can scale WoW to run at 2560x1440 and play it at 7 graphic setting with locked 60 fps no problem.
I have it locked at 60 fps because my GTX 770 only supports 144Hz over a DVI connection which new monitor brands no longer support, instead I have my 770 plugged in via displayport 1.2 which supports up to 60Hz at 5120x1440 resolution which is still pretty impressive considering the 770 is 7 year old hardware.
I imagine you’ll play the game at higher frames than me at graphic setting 7+, in fact way higher.
Though when you’re in newer and newer expansions you will take a hit on fps. WoW is obviously massive and newer zones like in Legion, BFA & Shadowlands you’re looking at some dropped frames.
There’s always Classic WoW I can run that baby at full 5120x1440 res at (almost maxxed) graphics steady 60 fps with my gtx 770 & its amazeballs
Thanks for the responses, My monitor is free sync and Gsync compatible so I’ll give it a whirl!
I could not achieve stable 60 with my GTX 970 OC after i upgraded to a 1440P display and had to lower the settings to 5 (BfA, not Shadowlands)
Im whit 980 gtx my fps is 60-80 never less then 50
Just to be sure: gsync is to be used without vsync, right?
Yes, don’t use vsync with G-Sync on.
