What you mean “Bothersome visitors?” Hey, at least we tried for good hour figure it out. Eirdaras did. I feel bad for him.
You did also OOC in /s, so there is that. Nobody of us were interested to go anywhere, due to lack of communication over all. We were actually waiting cross rp group to join and actually see emotes in /e.
And these rules. By the gods, you can’t expect everybody to just follow your plan, at least when you have 0 clue what heck was going on or was to. I’m taking the piss towards it, cause it felt like way too closed off. Like, “yeah mate. Dem spies ain’ seein our emotes without speakin this language.” and felt that no conqueses were really wanted to be taken there.
I wasn’t there from the beginning so maybe I’m doing a wrong assumption here, but while I’m all for a little hostility at events like these, wouldn’t it be better to have decided about it beforehand? Maybe have a stand off, someone might have wanted to show up with a disposable character etc. It could bring excitement but it needs communication.
As for none elves having news about this, were the rest of the Horde even aware of the whole Alleria - sunwell, exile of the void elf part until after? If they were, you’d think Sylvanas would be pretty keen on keeping them on their side, she doesn’t seem to object on void magic. It seems that elf business are pretty secluded from the other races. Meaning, if it’s a secret meeting elves between, I think chances are rather small for others to get news about it, and I think the rest of the Horde would think it smarter to send Blood elf spies and assassins in that case than having an Orc show up. And from a player perspetive, it adds to the immersion speaking Thalassian instead of having a cross rp chat.
Let me put it that way. Your lot walked into a closed meeting (which was NOT meant to be a RP-PvP event at alll, mind you) with your whole army. None of you have joined and contacted Itlaris as it was mentioned in the forum thread the Horde side was meant to do. Honestly, with those cringe-worthy “IC” comments after this was all over, it looked more as if the group has come there to grief the event rather than create RP.
Well-spotted. Hasn’t the fact the location’s not even mentioned in the forum thread and instead revealed by Itlaris given you the impression? If this was RP-PvP rather than a social gathering, you’d see the big [RP-PvP] heading and a mention of pvp rules in the opening post.
I wasn’t there myself, but the Grim Gest got wind of this IC and not through this forum and that’s why some (4 not elven people, not an “army”) showed up
IC wise everyone would of course have the chance to understand what took place, regardless of the Cross RP addon or not – that people refused to communicate properly through role playing heavily plays into the fact that this was some weird sort of tea party instead of anything WARcraft related
Certainly not the type of role playing I like to get myself involved in, so don’t worry, none of us will be there for tea party #2, it’s nice that you had fun though and that the event (almost) went as planned
Only one tip for the future , maybe next time use something like [Bubble RP] in the title, so people know beforehand
We’re not criticising anyone for wanting to RP, the event was an inclusive event after all. But it was a planned event to avoid it descending into a mess. The rules were communicated to the organiser on your side.
To disclose we agreed that they would send Blood Elven spies for several gatherings before eventually a skirmish broke out. This would create more RP and a carefully planned skirmish would leave both sides content. Instead the request to follow the Blood Elven contact who only knew of the location of the Void Elves was not followed and you all randomly descended upon us. I repeatedly wrote to the organiser on your side to stick to the plan. It took over an hour before you guys were pulled back. An hour were the other Blood Elf RPers had to wait. I was told some miscommunication between your two officers, which is fair such happens.
I was very much on for creating RP with you all, in fact I played a role in a lead up event to help build up to the spying mission that was meant to happen. But what happened disregarded everyone else’s RP and made it impossible.
If you guys would like to attend the next gathering but sticking to what was planned then I would be happy to have you all involved.
As Salrathin mentioned in his post, the event was a planned one and we wanted to stick to that plan so we don’t end up with a mess no one ends up content with. If your/Highblood Myrmidons’ GM contacted the event organisers few days/a week prior to the gathering to discuss how we exactly resolve the conflict it would all turn out differently I’m certain.
The Highblood Myrmidons were informed IC of a gathering involving void elves via discussion with the organiser and reached out to their IC allies to provide backup.
Had we had the details of the event properly communicated, we could have made it more clandestine (as the non elf characters such as myself were intended to be there as backup) - instead, we were OOC informed of a location, went to scout it and ran straight into the front guards. Without any plan for cross-faction communication aside from using Thalassian, our options were severely limited.
If you want to set up a meeting of Void Elf infiltrators/recruiters where a group of Horde loyalist Blood Elves are aware of it and are surprised when they bring a military force prepared to kill everyone present, you have fundamentally misunderstood how your roleplay was going to turn out.
The OOC comments in /say were wholly unnecessary - we are all easily contactable on battle.net, crossRP whispers or Discord, and if there has been a confusion of the expectations of the event we are happy to accommodate that if we are told politely.
I wish you luck with the rest of whatever series of events you are planning and hope you take some lessons from this.
The initial RP would never have been agreed upon if there wasn’t clear OOC agreement from the Highblood side on how things were to proceed. They agreed to play the role of Blood Elven spies and completely went back on it. Again, please see my last post.
I was messaged the night before by your organiser clearly agreeing that they won’t attack the first gathering.
Unbridled shame, trust levels, and the cold, blue hearts of Blizzard aside. This thread is going to derail into a bad spot soon. Ya’ll should jump on discord or something.
