Hey folks, casual wotlk classic player here. I have been a filthy wow-normie for 15 years now, having had an (almost) constant subscription since TBC originally. I was always a normie, but it has gotten worse over the years, with real life obligations and such.
I have been enjoying the absolute nostalgic thrill-ride of re-discovering TBC and WOTLK immensely. However, as a self-proclaimed casual player (around 10 hours a week, tops), I am really finding the dungeon experience quite lackluster. This is mostly the case for previous expac content (classic and tbc) but it does in fact also relate to current content in low hours.
It is almost impossible to find groups. Especially for the longer dungeons, or the dungeons located far away from questing hubs (LBRS, UBRS, BRD, DM etc). Recently, I had a day off work and had the opportunity to spend a few hours levelling my alt (tauren druid). I had a few quests in Scholomance (and also, I just really wanted to go there for the nostalgia). I spent four hours in the group finder, actively spamming /4 chat, before finally assembling a group.
When we finally got inside, the tank went unresponsive after the 2nd boss and proceeded to leave the party and ghost us. We spent half an hour looking for a replacement, even offering gold in return, but with not a single player in the finder for Scholomance, we decided to abandon the effort.
This is just the one, albeit worst of many similar examples. It is an incredible hassle getting groups together for all but the most basic dungeons, and in many cases, people are just as cynical and egotistical, leaving, griefing and ignoring the group, as they were with the random dungeon finder back in the day. This has led to me basically avoiding dungeon content since I, as a causual with the above-mentioned available time for playing, simply don’t have the patience to spend all my available time to do one or two dungeons per week.
So Blizzard, please, re-introduce the dungeon finder (at the very least for previous content)
