Ever since Legion was wrapped up the DH class didn’t feel like they belong into anything, not play style wise and even more so lore wise, they legit have a passive that gives dmg buff when fighting demons… Thier whole thing is fighting demons and as a dh said before a hunter is nothing without the hunt but then Shadowlands happened and they finally had a use for that passive talent thanks to fodder of the flame but we can’t have nice things so in Dragon flight the talent was removed and it doesn’t look like things will be any different in the war within.
This definitely sounds like a first world problem and I get that the devs already have plans for the expansion but the class hasn’t been relevant for 8 years and that’s quite sometime
But I would say that this fits perfectly into the current situation of Demon Hunters. We were the main force during the Legion. Lots of demons to fight, etc. Currently, our leader has disappeared for an undetermined amount of time. We are in a shambles, without a leader, without a purpose in a world with other problems and wars. Somehow our fighting skills are used without racism from others because they have a person on the team who turns partly into a demon. But despite everything, we wander around this world, trying to find a new place for ourselves. Death Knight also have an existential problem. Although their new leader created new troops from other races. In our case, it is not that simple. Maybe we will see a new summoning of Demon Hunters for a specific fight and another increase in the resources of our warriors. But until then, we fit in nicely in my opinion.
Ret Paladin was like that too during Ulduar in WOTLK. You could tell the class was designed to be at full power fighting Undead ( Exorcism always critting on Undead ) but as soon as the enemy was no longer Undead they became weak.
I think they should just let you ‘hunt’ a type of enemy ( Humanoid, Demon, Undead, Dragonkin ) and when that target dies its soul gives you a big bonus.
100 % Agree
Demon Hunter shouldn’t be this powerful, even as a hero class.
Demon Hunters have too too much utility and their defensives are the best in game.
Demon Hunters have also too much mobility.
Both in PVP and PVE Demon Hunters have to be nerfed.
Well, the class name is Demon Hunter, but it could be interpreted in 2 different ways:
Hunter of Demons: Only exists to hunt demons.
Hunter-Demon: Which is basically a Warrior with demonic Powers.
So after the legion defeat, DH is basically Rogue/Warrior class with demonic powers and aestethics. Its never useless for an army to have them, even if they don’t “hunt” their original targets. They are still strong against other types of opponents because of the fel energy and combat reflexes.
