A former EU player thinking of returning

The last 6 years I have been playing on US servers and as of late they’re incredibly buggy and has had so much downtime.

How do things on EU compare these days?

Thanks

I canceled my sub two and a half weeks ago.
That should tell you enough what I think.

Although I do want to come back when they offer things I want to actually do ingame.

He is asking about bugs and server stability, not content.

As to answer OP, we do tend to be affected by the same bugs usually. We do have the advantage of getting stuff 1 day later so there is the off chanse that some bugs only affect US and are hotfixed by the time it hits EU.

The US tend to serve as bug testing for EU. So when they get a day or so of downtime our reset goes more smoothly and usually within normal weekly reset time.

General game bugs will be the same though.

It is mostly same situation .you should only consider coming back to eu if you think maybe ping is a problem or your playing time is not matching and hence you have queuing problem .

Otherwise I don’t think there is much reason for u to switch from us to eu

My ping is amazing in fairness. The problem is I finish at 3 and when I get home, I just wanna kick back and play wow but I’m hit with maintenence or constant problems. I knew what I was getting into when I decided to switch but it was never this bad before.

I was hoping that maybe the folks running the show on EU were a little more competent but it seems it goes beyond them too.

Do you mean 3 AM , or 3 PM ? and what time zone ?
Assuming its UTC you are of course hitting their maintenance dead on .

Our on the other side is 3 AM , which for most people is outside of normal gaming hours .

Secondly I personally have not had server instability for a fairly long time , or had any intrusive server restarts . Of course we can skip patch day , cause , well patch day …

On US its at 7 am PST which for me is 3pm. Of course if its only an hour that’s fine. Its the extended down time that is frustrating. I do miss the maintenance times on EU lol

some bugs get fixed before they go live in EU, US being our beta testers isn’t a far fetch in that regard, but those are only the bugs that are fixed in a day.

If you are connecting to US servers from the EU, you will likely see latency improvements going back to the EU.

Define in what way? what are you experiencing in the form of bugs? ingame content that doesn’t work or are we actually talking about stability and connectivity to the server regardless of ingame content? Are we talking about downtime on patch days or just generally servers going down at random? The latter I havn’t experienced on EU and the former well, we get patches a day after US so usually if there’s something wrong, its fixed by the time we get it.

Its the same code that runs the game, so ingame bugs exist in both versions unless fixed day 1 (before EU gets it) so if it is over ingame bugs then going EU won’t change much for you.

Oh I was just going based off other comments I read.

Certainly if EU has less down time then thats a win and something I was curious about
