A Frustrated Warrior's Perspective: A Call for Change

As someone who has never written a review before, I feel it’s time to speak up, both for myself and for others who share similar frustrations within the Warrior community on Discord. For the first time since I began playing World of Warcraft, I have been subjected to hate and ridicule simply for playing my chosen class. This experience has been deeply disappointing, especially considering the expectations set during the early reveal videos of The War of the Worms expansion.

When the expansion was first announced, we were promised exciting updates and changes for Warriors. Unfortunately, the reality has been far from what was advertised. The Warrior class, as a whole, feels broken. We were told to expect substantial burst damage, powerful Bladestorms, and consistent sustain across all DPS specs, Arms, Fury, Slayer, and Thane. However, what we received is far from that vision. The damage output is inadequate, and the class feels underwhelming compared to other melee classes. Even in ideal conditions, our damage output does not come close to the levels seen with other classes, leaving us in the dust.

As an Arms Warrior, I’ve noticed a significant lack of burst damage. The power of Bladestorm, once a signature ability, feels lackluster and underpowered in its current state. The sustained damage that we should be able to rely on in extended fights is nonexistent, and it’s incredibly frustrating to watch other classes outperform us with seemingly little effort. Meanwhile, our core abilities feel unimpactful and fail to provide the necessary punch to keep up with the demands of modern gameplay.

The disparity between the Warrior class and other melee classes is glaring, and this has been a consistent theme across both Fury and Arms specs. Whether you’re playing Slayer or Thane, the results are the same, damage numbers that are simply not competitive. It’s a difficult pill to swallow, especially for players like me who have invested time and effort into mastering this class.

For the first time in my World of Warcraft journey, I’ve reached the point where I am seriously considering canceling my subscription. The sense of being underpowered and overlooked as a Warrior has taken a toll on my enjoyment of the game. It’s disheartening to feel like your class is being treated as the “trash” of the game, with little hope for meaningful change. The community has voiced these concerns for months, but it seems our complaints are falling on deaf ears.

I sincerely hope that Blizzard will listen to the Warrior community and address these issues in future patches. Warriors deserve better, and we need changes that will bring us up to par with other classes. Until then, it’s hard to remain hopeful or invested in a class that feels so underappreciated and underperforming.

please do not complain about the lack of Dmg or burst. we are in a decent spot when it comes to numbers!: the entire issue with warrior is the class and spec trees being a Ducking mess, our DMG is good. only 1 or 2 outliers beat us handidly.
Hero talents have 1 major issue. The issue is Slayer is shared instead of thane. and slayer will forever feel clunky on a an arms warrior if u ever tried it as fury.
Rage stability issues in arms. talent splits. Mortal strike being Propped up by a stupid amount of multipliers. THIS is an ARMS issue. Not doing enough dmg… well im sorry m8 thats mainly u

While I can’t speak for arms, I can speak on Warrior DPS in the M+ enviroment. Now, I wont deny that warrior is doing ‘decent’ damage. It’s not fantastic, it is not bad. It is ok. Servicable to get content done with a minor handicap. You could think of it as having a limp, you can still walk fowards and you are mobile - especially compared to people with broken legs. Yet, compared to the specs who can jog - you are falling behind.

Warrior is currently in m+ is what they always kinda are, midtier, somewhere between low to high mid. Depending on your criteria. Why? Simply put - as repeated en infinitum: Others do not simply only bring more specialised utility, they also bring more damage. This is the core problem warrior is facing. Warrior is supposed to be that pure simple swing with a sword DPS spec, yet they are tuned worse than classes that not only swing the sword but also support.

I don’t think even you would argue Warrior is doing better DPS than Retribution, Survival Hunter, Enhancement, Assasin Rogue, Frost Death Knight, Unholy Death Knight or Feral Druid. Because, they do better damage. Not saying you can’t beat them when there is a skill or gear difference; that always matter - what I am saying is the specs simply have more potential in how we currently play M+ and how the fights are designed. If more dungeon bosses were like the blob in City of Threads, warrior would be king. Alas that is not the case.

In raid? Sure, it is decent. We are kinda neato to bring. If only raid wasn’t only the content we played in this game - things would be peachy.

In a world where other classes burst for more and more often, then it doesn’t really come in to play that Fury Warrior (as an example) can beat most to anyone in 5t AoE burst over 6 seconds. It is why we can look good in Necrotic Wake, blasting adds before anyone else can. Yet, as it is tuned for Raid Damage Profile values, it is also scuffed for M+ overall values. We were in a really decent spot before the nerfs started to rain down upon us, and it did unrelenting, till we at the point now. It is grim.

Again, I am not saying we can’t pull our weight in keys. You just got to accept that pushing as a warrior you are carrying with your personal skill, more so than your class. To a certain degree, you must accept that you are being carried by others. Or you can deny the fact that there are better options than warrior to bring. Of course, you can always do that.

My point here is simply. No, warrior can complain about the lack of damage and burst. As that is the only thing we bring. When that is not enough to get us brought as a premium option for that purpose over classes that also bring support/utility - then things are not in balance.

For why would you ever bring the one who can only do lower DPS, compared to the ones who do more and can help with mechanics?

Fury warrior really need rework why we always spamming raging blow for stacks so boring and spec doesnt have sustain damage
