WSG is my all-time favorite PvP mode design. But the Classic version of WSG/AB has (imo) always fell short due to how experienced and geared players often group up as 10/15 and stomp the living sh*t out of any solo player team.
SoD has taken this one step further and lets full premades match players 5 levels below.
Raid geared and coordinated premade vs players who aren’t even max level yet in a mismatched team with no RBMM. It makes no sense. It’s just dumb and ruins the replay value of the entire gamemode for all participants.
Level 25 in SoD should have its own “endgame” bracket in BGs. Premades should not match solo/small groups.
I think it would be better if queues and brackets were separated:
- Full premades only match other likeminded teams in a separate premade queue.
- Limit the regular queue to 3 or max 4 players in a party.
Bonus:
- Role-based matchmaking for regular queue.
- Seasonal ranked WSG for full premade, with leaderboard and vanity rewards (If possible)
Just a thought. Because WSG as it is now completely STINKS.

Who would’ve expected this? Probably anyone who played vanilla at least once. 0 kills WSG is a reality of a solo queue player, always has been and always will be. Premades vs solo has been a thing forever, Classic, SoM whatever

If an issue is an issue for years, it means then those that are paid to get rid of it are not fit for it.
It was unacceptable that issues present in vanilla made their way into classic.
And it’s worst that those issues are still here, in SoD.

I’m sure the Premades weakened with tbc last year. Only a maximum of 5 people could register together.
I wouldn’t mind groups of 5 matching into solo players in SoD WSG, if both teams get a premade of equal size and the max level bracket is set to 25 only. What I do mind is organized/geared full premades matching into solo players, especially in a 20-25 bracket. It’s just stupid.
Matchmaking algorithms is not any rocket science, most PvP games have it in some form. In a class-based game you’d assume RBMM to be a thing as well. Problem with Classic is that it doesn’t have either, and the result of ignoring such features is one-sided games/“stomps” and the replay value suffer.
If I have 3 hours in the evening after work to play then I don’t want 1 in 5 games to be on equal fields and the rest is GY camps. I want all 5 games to be decent or better. My experience in SoD so far is the prior. Completely awful, just like that dumb “PvP” event that doesn’t offer any PvP.

Every time this thing comes up we have the same answers. Ppl suggesting to get a pre or quit pvp. Probably the sweat penetrated this skull and damaged their brain or smt. Too stupid to even realize that if most ppl quit solo, they will face only pre. Just as ppl ask it to be. But w/e. Another version of wow that bgs will be dead

That would solve nothing. I would have just as bad of a time queueing into low lvl solo players as a premade and standing afk at the enemy graveyard as I would being on the opposite side. All that would do is further feed the problem.
Couldn’t care less what other people say. Premades matching solos is a problem.

I’d agree with this point and also hope they have some at least opportunistic matching. That is, they TRY to match a 10 group with 10 group if possible, or as close as they can otherwise. But, then loosen that match over time if the queue doesn’t allow for it.
But, I don’t know if they’re doing that.

I’ll just leave this whole SoD for now and let the devs do whatever improvements they think are good. Maybe some day they look into their PvP content.
But to me it seems like every MMO studio these days has lost touch with their PvP, Blizzard is no different.

11/11 vs premades so far and most games my faction had 0 kills; cba with this; maybe ill return in 2-3 phases if or when they fix the issues they already fixed in prev versions of classic;

Fighting vs full premade as pugs is unacceptable, please force premades vs premade same as it is on Retail.
Random players should not be the sacrifice for premades wanting easy honor farms.

That doesn’t help. Retail has that and both Epic Bgs like AV aswell as normal BGs like WSG still are plagued by premades that game the system till they put both or all groups into one BG.
Actually it helps a little, because adding any sort of barrier will make alot of people not attempt to do it, but those who will keep doing it are the hypersweats cranking out every accessible consumable.
Definitely I agree, I also created topic because of these premades.
Random solo queue players have no chance vs people with good geared, commucating via discord and with good compositions (selected roles and classes). . Any1 think this is fair just want some free wins because they are not capable to play, premade vs premades and this is pathetic. End of the discussion.

Blizzard Software engineers and game designers are still discovering…
I can’t believe this is still an issue and has not been fixed, pre-made face rolling their ranks and getting gear easily while showing no playing skills by fighting solo players…Solo players getting smashed by pre-made, removing all the fun of WG. May be time to hire some proper employees able to fix this rather and ongoing frustrating situation. 15 years and nothing done…Oh well, this discovery journey was fun(ish) for a month.

Id be really interested in what exactly is holding you guys back to use the chat and find mates in a few seconds? Like you know, building a group in a MMORPG.

Premades should not get matched against pug groups. Period.
I dont want to face PUG’s when I join a premade. whats the point?

It matters because this is not valorant, cs or fortnite, where queing into these modes is the only thing in the game.
This is a MMORPG and building a group to get an advantage should be fundamental part of the game. Just like creating incentives to form groups and rewarding those who do.
groups vs. pugs is not a thing in other games and mmorpgs.
