[A-Gilnean RP] 5th Royal Brigade - 'Wolfsbane': For Gilneas, always

The old veteran inhaled a long puff of smoke coming from the cigar, while pinning the last corner of the parchment on the wall.
Crane smiled to himself, satisfied by the brief handwork, lingering his gaze on the manifest’s content:
"Proud people of the Alliance,
and fellow citizens of Gilneas.
It is with honor, that your Kingdom’s Royal Army asks -you- to enlist once again into it’s ranks.
While the Fourth War might be over, an ongoing crysis is hitting the borders of our homeland and of the nearby regions.
The truce between factions and the ceasefire left many unanswered questions behind, aswell as a tremendous amount of scars all across the world.
With only a few representative regiments of the Grand Alliance up there, the constant threat of the -rabid dogs- still loyal to the vile Banshee Queen is halting the negotiations with the the opposite faction, making them extremely more difficult than what they already were, and the risk of a diplomatic incident to re-ignite the cinders of the global conflict is indeed -high-.
These Forsaken hide behind false promises and deceptive alignations, oftenly disguised as ‘servants of the Horde’, but in reality portraying their cursed, evil plans.
The presence of several Scourge swarms, remnants of the invasion of almost two years ago by now, is not helping either.
Now more than ever, our homeland is in needing of -your help-.
At the head of the freshly-started ‘Operation Dying Light’, the 5th Royal Brigade established a safe foothold within the ruins of Silverpine, not far from the Greymane Wall, and is actively working to keep the situation in check, aswell to -mine- the rotters’ schemes and terroristic actions.
Enlist today, if you wish to take arms once and again and put an end to this madness once, and for all.
In the name of King Greymane,
For Liam. For our people.
For Gilneas!"

Hello Argent Dawn,

The ‘Wolfsbane Brigade’ is a relatively new gilnean guild, recently formed.
We are at the constant seek of fellow gilneans (Afflicted or not), to join our ranks and embrace arms to once again fight in the name of our lost Kingdom.

While the concept is basically similar to those of many other ‘military guilds’ across the server, we are putting high effort and hardly working to grant to our members our own, personal interpretation of such concept.

An almost isolated brigade, deployed into an hostile territory, blasted by decades of conflict and the flithy Plague of Undeath. Completely ‘alone’ out in the cursed wilds between Gilneas and Lordaeron, with no allies, no supplies, and without a proper shelter, surrounded by vicious, smart and deadly foes, struggling even for the smallest inch of ground.

We do our best, and we do it for Gilneas. No matter what.

Joining us, you will find a mature, friendly and safe enviroment. We do not need drama, we do not want drama, and we keep always an eye open to keep it -far- from the group. Our Officers’ team is at costant work to offer our members the highest quality of rp.
Worth to mention, the guild puts highly emphasis on a small system that is currently under development, named ‘Good Night, Good Luck’ (yes, the references to -that- Dying Light you might find here and there across the post are more than legit).
As any other guilds, our events are hosted in the evenings, usually from 20.30 ST on.
After a bit of reflection, and due to the dire enviroment we chosen as our rp’s location, we heavily rely on the ‘day and night’ cycle, constantly remarking (and to quote the earlier statement, developing juicy, small rp ‘tidbits’ related to it) the danger of being out at nightime, having our roaster dealing with deadly, hardcore-combat foes.

If the concept at the whole thickles your curiosity, or if you wish to experience the life of the member of a stern gilean brigade, well, you know what to do.

See you in Azeroth, and-…

Good Night. Good Luck.

F.A.Q

‘Sounds cool, but, are there any unforms?’
The answer to this question is ‘yes and no’. While the guild not having an official uniform, we rely on our members’ taste to respect the guild aesthetics, and customize their own, personal attire. The only -must- is represented by the gilnean tabard, easily purchasable for a few coins by the dedicated in-game quartermaster.

‘Wouldn’t the guild be isolated, so far away from the Stormwind City hub?’
Of course, no. We are actively engaged on the server’s life, and becoming part of the Alliance community at whole. Also, we have our own allied guilds, which dediced to take part in ‘Operation Dying Light’ chillin’ with us. We host shared events, and cooperation is always welcomed.

‘I am interested, but I have also an undefined (sighs) amount of alts into an undefined number of guilds. Can I put -another- alt in this one?’
Yes, you can. However, the only true requirement we ask other than keep an adult and polite behaviour, is to being active. If you join us, you want to rp with us. We do not want characters that enlist and never log back. After a week of unjustified absence, one of the officers will gently poke you. After two weeks , your toon will be removed from the guild.

‘What are your statements towards romances and ERP?’
Romances between characters are -always- welcome, at the cost of not focusing only on them, and avoid cringefests. ERP, instead, is -forbidden- among us. Sexuality between partners can be easily dealt with one emote, without dwelling into odd, questionable details.

‘The guild seems to be gilnean-themed. Does that mean that you accept only gilnean/worgen toons?’
Gilneans are our priority, and what makes our enviroment lovely ‘niche’. However, every human apply (Lordaeronian,Stromic,Stormwindian, or whatever else) is gladly welcomed. You can join, as far as you pledge your loyalty to our King and our cause.

‘How can I join?’
We do prefere an IC approach. For this reason, we have a recruiter roaming around Stormwind City, from time to time, named ‘Cpl. Kyle Crane’. Feel free to poke him, or to OOCly contact me, Lyallthor and Dreviil to arrange your IC entrance to the Brigade.

‘Isn’t fighting the Forsaken against the lore? Aren’t we all friends and gucci, by the end of BfA?’
The posts specifies how we deal with several threats, but mainly, the Forsaken still -loyal- to the Banshee Queen. Even if our lovely (cringe) Sylvanas had been ‘redeemed’ and all her war-crimes apparently forgiven because ‘the power of love’, the crimes portrayed by her followers are -not- forgotten. We work to avoid diplomatic incidents between the factions, we do not -openly- attack the Horde.

‘Do we have an AA?’
Of course we have! Every detail about other platforms and websites can easily be found in the guild’s dedicated discord server.

Sounds cool, Good luck.

Honestly, we’ve had the big honours to of been invited along some Undead smacking in Arathi after running into these lads in Hillsbrad completely unplanned.
100% Would do some more smacking, these Wolves got the moves!

Letter to the Wolfsbane
(Providing a plot hook and further premises to some joined RP in the North that is being planned out and we will keep you up to date on!)

A letter would arrive by raven, most likely redirected several times before it could find the adressé: the receiver of the letter may notice a wax stamp closing the letter with the sign of the Dawn of the Faithful the letter in itself seemed to be directed to the higher ups from the Wolfsbane Brigade and the sender from the letter would be identifying herself as Karyinn Southwall

This letter is destined to find the 5th Royal Brigade alias the ‘Wolfsbane Brigade’ lieutenant or sergeant , writing to you from the Capital of Stormwind, I hope this letter will find you well.
Having had little time or breather to personally go over these concerns with you back when we both had footing in the City, with the situation of the unforeseeable Stockade riot leaving us unable to attend your company’s friendly brawl.

We’ve received further intel, and been a personal witness to such a phenomenon during our time up North, regarding unusual weather storms and climate changes that so far have been recorded all the way from Alterac to Hearthglen, Stromgarde and Highvale.
The phenomenon includes icy hail storms or regular storms , sudden freezing temperatures and even snow, Hearthglen even had supply crates tempered with filled with rodents and insects.
Amidst one of these storms we found armor and dog tags belonging to a missing Alliance patrol up in Highvale at their encampment, before we could discover any of their platoon we were forced into a retreat by the harsh and unnatural weather conditions.
The only lead that we have this day is one of theirs that we recovered on the road, completely gone insane which I later deduced to be the cause of a traumatic experience, with no signs of magical corruption at play.

Whilst we are still trying to map the spread of this phenomenon in preparation of deployment back to the North to hold further thorough investigations, I write this letter to enlist caution.
The situation as it is may make it much easier for enemies such as the Undeath to move unhindered and plan ambushes, as well as it may take out supply routes if it continues to go on for a long while.
With any stroke of luck, the phenomenon has not been affecting Silverpine or these regions, but history has taught us: never leave anything to Lady luck.
Light guide you and yours, Lieutenant, Sergeant.

This looks like a very interesting concept and one I would be interested in. Just a shame IRL is unpredictable and not flexible with time.

If you are ever around, I’ll be sure to say hi.

Thank you all for the awesome and kind words, friends.

We have recently dealt with a demonic threat which haunted -our- woods, joining up in one of the several pre-events which will culminate in the ‘Return of the Damned:The Legion’s Legacy’ server campaign.

This week, we’ll be dwelling into preparations in sight of the incoming deployment against the demonic scum, so feel more than free to pay us a visit at the F.O.B in Silverpine.

We don’t bite-… much. :wolf:

For Gilneas.

Always.

Letter to the Wolfsbane
(More hooks as the time of joined arms is creeping closer and closer as things spiral in the North)

Once more, a raven eventually made way to the Wolfsbane Brigade before their departure to Dalaran , and the writer was most familiar: Karyinn Southwall. The contents were even more worrying than

I hope this letter finds the designated recipitants, and that your people are doing well Sergeant and Lieutenant.
I wish that I had better news to deliver by raven, but our duties usually mean getting in dire situations.
A follow up letter from Hearthglen arrived confirming our worst fear: a plague. An infection spread from human to human by contact with bodily fluids, the locals of Highvale have dubbed it the Ring.
Named after a circular rash that appears, but that evolves within mere hours to dark veins around the eyes eventually the sickness saps the life out of its victims.
In a stroke of luck, we may be sitting on the original design of this plague, a strange bottle was retrieved a few weeks ago that our family magister deemed as magically potent and most likely necrotic in school… He also mentioned there was traces of Elven blood used for crafting such as there are subtle hints or Arcane, or that he thinks.
Until I can further investigations and learn a way to counter it we have established a Quarantine camp at Stromgarde with permission from Alliance Command. We can not risk this sickness to seep deeper and deeper, for if it does Lordaeron’s inhabitants will be wiped out.
Should any of your men and women have experience with pathology or further knowledge on necrotic diseases it might be worth sticking heads together.

As I am writing this to you, our Scouts are exploring the lands to see what we are up against. There is an awful snowfall in Arathi and we fear for the upper regions. The winds are akin to Icecrown and we are very sure that the Undead roam the lands more freely and in larger number.
I will send another update through this raven when we gain the next part of information, I fear this is a threat far bigger than anyone can handle on their own.
We will attempt pushing up further to liberate several outposts and slowly seep our way in towards Hearthglen, I will update you with our location once you and yours are avaible to have a meeting to discuss this threat to our homelands.

Light and Lordaeron brave soldiers, may this find you well.

After a whole week of fightings in the Broken Isles, tagging along in the ‘Return of the Damned:The Legion’s Legacy’ server campaign, we are finally back to our homeland’s borders, ready to resume our righteous, extremely dangerous, task.

Some 'peep said that our F.O.B got ‘overun by the Undead’-… Untrue, untrue and untrue.

We have gained a few new scars, aswell as new, wonderful bonds with the lovely campaign people, other perhaps more deep and fresh than others, but it is still a good risultati. Even with the wounds left, we keep going. No matter what.

For Gilneas. Always.

:wolf:

It was a delight to go on a new adventure with this group of people. The campaign was great, and indeed, we have met many new friends. It is always lovely to see when people gather to unit around a problem.

Thank you for participating.

I have been on a long long break and looking to get back into RP. Mostly RP on Horde so perhaps this concept would be a good change.

Feel free to poke me OOCly in-game, or find us in Amber Mill, ICly, every evening from around 20.00-on.

A few of us might be around from the afternoon, even.

On a weekly basis, we’ll be hosting recruitment nights in Stormwind City, even.

There is plenty of space for approach!

See you in game, :wolf:

A pleasure to make contact once more with this military organization, this time not on the battlefield but within the walls of their base of operations. Mr. Rowe and his personnel were gracious hosts, and I believe, most welcoming of the supply delivery handed to them by Alliance Salvaging And Procurement.
