[A/H-RP] Fireblossom Festival 🔥 30th of June

The Fallen Leaf is organising a bright, fiery festival in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, amidst the golden trees that almost appear as if on flames themselves in the warm sunlight of summer days. People from all around (and both the Alliance and Horde) are now invited to come to Mistfall Village and celebrate the coming of summer and the hottest months of the year!

When and where?

The festival is taking place on 30th of June in Mistfall Village of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. The activities begin at 7 PM server time and last until 11 PM, but people are of course welcome to continue celebrating deep into the night.

Activities!

On the day of the festival, participants will be able to take part in various activities and contests, some of which can yield them summer themed prizes.

On top of activities organised by the Fallen Leaf, the festival also contains a banquet and a marketplace, both which are open to everyone to contribute to, so make sure to sign up for either of the two below! (Make sure to mention which you’d like to contribute to and what you’ll be selling.)

Honoring the Fireblossom Festival 7:30 PM ❗

The opening ceremony of the festival, held at 7:30 PM to get the festivities going!

Torch Juggling

Test your mettle when it comes to handling fire! You’ll be given one to five torches to juggle, and a maximum of twenty seconds to juggle them. Your points will be calculated based on the number of torches and the time successfully juggled.

The more points you rack up, the better prizes you win!

Bonfire Bash

Two teams of four (balanced by the organiser) are pitted against each other in this hotblooded game. The intent of the game is to knock down your opponent’s “bonfire” while protecting your own. The bonfire is, in fact, just an upright stick.¨

Winners get to walk away with medals, but fret not, there are condolence prizes!

Fire Archery

You will be given four fire arrows and a bow to shoot at paper targets of varying sizes and points attached to the end of the stall. The smaller the paper target, the more points you get. In order to get a point your fire arrow will have to successfully light the paper target on fire.

The higher the points, the better the prizes!

Spicy Eating Contest 8:00 PM ❗

Do you have a mouth and stomach capable of withstanding dragonfire? Today you can prove it!

Each contestant is presented with a long platter of five plates, containing foods ranging from mildly spiced all the way up to magically enhanced, upsettingly hot peppers. The aim is simply to make it as far through the platter as possible.

The winner gets bragging rights, a cup of cold milk and unlimited free food for themselves for the rest of the festival!

Kite Contest 9:00 PM ❗

The only contest you’ll really want to prepare for in time.

The festival is not only about the fiery heat of summer, but also its beautiful, bright blue skies, and what a better way to celebrate skies than kite flying?

Build the best and most beautiful kite you can, and bring it to the festival to be judged! Contestants will first display their kites to the three judges, and then prove they are able to remain in the air to qualify. (Allowed materials: cloth, paper, wood, rope/string, paint.)

The winner will receive a mastercrafted pandaren kite, enchanted to always fly you safely to wherever you wish whether it rains or snows!

Midsummer Banquet

What is a festival without food? The Fallen Leaf will be offering various dishes from Pandaria for a small charge, but as an extension of the marketplace, guests of the festival are welcome to set up their own food stands! (Make sure to sign up for this in the thread!)

Marketplace

The festival is open to all to sell their wares as long as free space lasts! Weapons and other dangerous objects or otherwise of nature unsuitable for a festival are not to be sold here. (Make sure to sign up for this in the thread!)

Any rules or guidelines?

Since the festival welcomes guests from both the Alliance and Horde, matters of war and current political unrest are best left out to avoid any fights from starting. This is a festival, after all!
All weapons and armour are to be left outside of Mistfall Village, seeing as this is a festival rather than a battlefield, and security will be provided by local guards (as well as yours truly).
Any amount of fighting, nefarious / dangerous use of magic, or general troublemaking will result in immediate removal from the village for the day of the festival.
If you can’t keep your pets in check, leave them out for the day!

Make sure to bring Elixir of Tongues to understand the opposite faction!

Looking great! Sadly due to timing, we can’t say Moonspear will host a stall but you will likely see some of us around!

This sounds very fun. And midsummer sounds like something that most races actually actively celebrate, especially those on the more spiritual side of the spectrum.

This sounds so nice and I’ll definitely be grabbing some friends and tagging along! Thanks for putting together something like this. The Midsummer festival has been one of my favourites in WoW for a long time so something to celebrate that makes me happy!

That was a fun event, and a lot of people turned up. Hopefully it will raise interest in Pandaria RP, and hopefully there will be more events like this in the future!
