A Horrible and Unfair Bug
A few days ago, I joined a 2x4 skinning farm group through the premade group system, where Warmode was off. However, some people with PvP items were dueling each other there, forfeiting the duel within 2 seconds of starting it. This allowed them to upgrade their PvP items to the highest level, which they then used to farm and kill bees. Additionally, healer monks using this method were dealing high DPS to these mobs. This is extremely unfair and wrong because the efficiency boost should disappear immediately after leaving or forfeiting a duel. Instead, by forfeiting 2 seconds before the duel starts, the boost persists for hours (until death). Please investigate this issue.

I…don’t see the issue here…?
Let them kill the bees? Makes it just easier for you guys to skin them?
What am I missing here…

So uh, if you suspect something is a bug or exploit use the ingame bug report for investigations.
Do note depending on issue it may take some time.
2x4 farming via hyperspawning should’ve been fixed a long time ago and removed when sharding got introduced… exploiting a feature to tackle overcrowding, vastly abused by players and particularly bots alike.

“The issue isn’t just about skinning being easier. This is an unfair exploit that lets players keep PvP item boosts for hours after a duel forfeit, giving them a huge advantage in farming and DPS. It breaks game balance and needs to be fixed.”
Advantage over what again?
The advantage is over other players who farm fairly without exploiting this bug. These players get higher DPS and farm rates for hours, which lets them dominate resource gathering and potentially the in-game economy. It’s unfair and breaks the balance of the game.
If you are in Warmode and you engage in any form of PvP battle or just fly over any PvP area, your gear becomes ilvl 678. From my experience this lasts until 2 minutes of non-PvP combat. If dueling somehow allows this to extend beyond those 2 minutes, then yes, it can be an exploit because you have essentially a group of people farming in 678 equipment when the maximum PvE equipment available is… 675, and to the best of my knowledge this item level is not yet achievable due to lack of enough gilded crests.
In the past I have advocated for PvP gear to not act as higher item level in PvP situations but to give a damage/healing buff towards and incoming damage reduction against players. That would not only solve the problem, it would also make more sense from a logic point of view.

Yes yes and all that, but…he’s complaining about this while doing 2x4 farm groups

But his argument is sane if you look at it objectively. Think of it this way. You are farming something. And someone else near you is farming that something too. Both of you have the exact same equipment. But because he uses a game mechanic in a non-intended way, he has 3% extra performance while you don’t.
Whether the end result is different or not than not exploiting, the point stands that players can make use of an unintended game mechanic to benefit, even if by just 0.1%.

Sure, but throwing stones from inside of a glass house is kinda…you know? They should just shut up. It’s a purely egoistic “I want this gone cuz it hurts MY gold farming exploit” thread…

It’s not egoistic. Remember, Conquest equipment is Champion 1/8 when purchased. Imagine there is a character with item level 636 in the overworld doing his own stuff. And then he uses a way to put himself in PvP battle… and suddenly he hits PvE targets as a character of full 678 equipment. Whereas before he would be struggling with swarms of enemies, now he can obliterate them in less than half the time while having 50%+ extra tankiness.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I agree, this is definitely an exploit since it gives an unfair advantage with ilvl 678 gear in PvE. Your suggestion about PvP gear giving damage/healing buffs instead of higher ilvl makes a lot of sense and would fix this issue. Hope Blizzard looks into this soon!

That’s right, I tested it too.

I wish Blizzard would test it and fix it.

Hello Bigmaster.
this is what i was talking about here and with customer support for a long time.
its a bad exploit that only gold sellers use in 2x4 groups.
dude buys an account and goes to bg and then when he is full pvp geared he uses this bug to go high end item level in one day then he uses this method to kill the bees and wolfs in that area or other 2x4 groups in order to increase his gold per hour.
thats why they keep talking about kph (kill per hour ) in their groups.
those are the same people that were mass reporting my name every single day.
those are the same gold sellers and the people that are using botts. and destroying the economy.
this is very good that other players like you starting to see it.
dont care about that panda and the worgen warlock that are trolling and making fun of you.
people should start creating topics about these kind of problem in here so maybe blizzard do something about it
Thanks for the support! I had no idea this exploit was being used by gold sellers to this extent. It’s definitely ruining the game’s economy and needs to be fixed ASAP. Let’s keep raising awareness so Blizzard takes action!
yes this came in the game in shadowlands in korthia zone.
after they made skinning shared for everyone these muckers started create 2x4 groups for it and after a while they found out that pvp bug still works. so since that day they used this bug in every 1x5 and 2x4 groups in wow.
i was there when this happened and i had a big fight with 4 of their guilds
let me see if i have a screen shot from those years
