A list of confirmed Rogue bugs

Here is a list of confirmed bugs affecting the rogue class. These are not all of the Rogue bugs but the ones I have encountered so feel free to add the ones you noticed. Some of the bugs listed here are particularly hard to spot which means they will not get fixed if people reading this post don’t also take a few minutes of their time to report it through the in-game beta bug report tool, and some of these bugs have a considerable impact on the gameplay.

  • Fan of knives is supposed to grant you a combo point if you hit the target that already has combo point(s) but if you are far enough from that target (but still hitting it with fan of knives), it does not grant you the combo point.
This bug only happens when you are at the limit of the range of Fan of Knives (but still hitting).

  • Using an equipped “on-use” trinket while in stealth and specced into subterfuge will instantly cancel your stealth without triggering subterfuge. It is supposed to trigger subterfuge.

  • Using an equipped “on-use” trinket DURING subterfuge will cancel subterfuge’s effect and reveal you instantly without waiting for the end of the subterfuge buff: even though the subterfuge buff still shows and ticks down, you are not able to use any ability that requires you to be in stealth and enemies can see you unstealthed.

  • If you target a mob that isn’t pulled while generating a combo point from the Combat rogue’s Ruthlessness passive ability, it will pull the mob’s aggro no matter how far you are even if you are in stealth, as if you did something to it like using Throw. It also of course puts you in combat.

  • Combat rogue’s mastery hits cannot proc any poisons, both lethal and non-lethal.
This bug has a massive impact in PVP: for example (but not only) when you try to play with Paralytic Poison. The Combat spec uses slow swords in PVP and the Combat abilities cost a ton of energy compared to Subtlety (50 energy for a sinister strike! Reminder that the changes made for PVE don’t take effect in arenas/BGs).
This makes the buildup of Paralytic Poison’s stacks painfully slow. The mastery procs actually play a huge role in the buildup of Paralytic Poison’s stacks as Combat and can prevent the stacks from simply just fading because of a lack of para procs even though you are on the target the whole time in a PVP situation.

  • Using Shiv with Paralytic Poison does not grant the shiv a chance to apply a stack of Paralytic Poison even though it is a weapon-based STRIKE that does damage to the enemy and, as the tooltip of Paralytic Poison says, a stack should have a chance to be added on “EACH STRIKE”.

  • Combat rogue’s mastery cannot proc from Ambushes. This is clearly a bug, and it will go unnoticed into live servers because when you ambush you also start auto-attacking and mastery does proc from auto-attacks (so people don’t notice this bug).
You can easily verify this bug by going to a target dummy, put it in focus (/focus), un-target the target dummy (but keep it on your focus) then spam the following macro:
    /cast [target=focus] Ambush
You can spec into subterfuge to be able to spam ambush then restealth and do it again as much as you want.
Again, without having the target dummy on your current target otherwise it will trigger auto-attacks.
You will never witness a single mastery proc by doing this.

Please fellow rogues and friendly forum readers, take a few minutes of your time to report all of these bugs and not just the ones affecting your own gameplay. Some of them are too subtle for people to notice them but have a considerable impact on gameplay depending on what spec you play / activity you’ll engage in.
