A long list reader discretion is adviced

I Decided to write down some of the issues I had with BFA, this is missing a lot of things, because I’m bad at remembering to write stuff down, but this is what I remembered, this I think puts in perspective why my enjoyment of this expansion has been very limited compared to the past, this has PVE, Professions, PVP, all the good stuff in it, because honestly, I play wow to do it all, I don’t play just to PVP, or just to raid, I have raided at a top 30 world level, I still raid at a decently high level, I have pvp’ed at 2.6k in the past, and been dabbling around 2.4k most of BFA which for some may be low, but for most is really high statistically, You can take it as a BFA bash, or a plea for the devs to fix their game, or just some salty seaman QQ’ing I just thought it would be interesting to note things down along the way and this is what came out of it. My issues with BFA are not included in this to avoid it being a blatant BFA bashing post that we have seen millions of already.

I am sorry for any gramma mistakes beforehand! There will be many, English is not my first language, and all of this was typed out real quick between arena games or raid pulls.

Professions - now this would be hella long, so I’m just gonna talk about inscription, I am well aware all the other professions also have issues but this one is just funny.
So in Legion there was a gross imbalance in what pigments could drop and what the costs of the items were, resulting In me sitting on well above 200k Roseate pigments. 200000 pigments. I was just vendoring it cuz I couldn’t possible fit all that pigment anywhere. So u fixed the recipes…. Twice…. And also changed drop rates of pigments in order to fix it.

Fast forward to BFA, you corrected the issue of only having 2 pigments, which was part of the issue in legion! Good job you actually asked the guy who came up with the idea of having 3 relevant pigments in the first place why he did it. Now heres the sad part, that admittedly is also kinda funny and ironic. You made THE EXACT SAME MISTAKE AS IN LEGION, You done goofed the drop rates of pigments compared to recipe costs. Nothing actually uses blue ink except the wanna be lock picking scrolls. And at best things use the same amount of blue ink as they do red. You even dun goofed up the green inc drop rate, compared to red ink. Currently by my rough calculations for the inks to be balanced compared to recipe costs, you would need to increase Red Pigment drop rates by over 800%, that’s one hell of a miss. Which has resulted in ppl sitting on over 200k blue pigment and vendoring it like the trash it is.

The fact that you learned nothing from previous mistakes is just too much for my tiny heart to bear, I want this game to succeed I have played it for almost 15 years now. But at this point you’re just taking the piss, these mistakes aren’t just minor, they are massive, and most of them aren’t just a 1-2 day bug, they are long term issues that honestly, any developer for any big firm or corporation would have been terminated for in an instant. But because us wow nerds are such betas we just take in the cheek and say better luck next time champ, instead of boycotting your product like the rest of the world would with any other kind of product except maybe drug addicts, who would just keep purchasing bad cuts regardless.

Vantus runes - Miss spelling Uldir in the vantus runes so they don’t work - I can’t stop laughing I swear you did this in Legion as well.

Darkmoon card Fathoms - the strength of this trinket on Single target is insane, what is more insane is how the procc is so slow, that it keeps breaking CC in PVP, u go over u slow the healer, then throw a trap on him, unlucky bud, cuz 1½ seconds later ur trap is broken by darkmoon card Fathoms.

1 shots - 70k+ abilities that can be cast instantly afterwards for another 70k (MM, Boomy)

(screen shot i wasnt allowed to post of 2x 70k Aimshot with 0.2 seconds inbetween them on deathnote from the same hunter)

(screenshot of a 50k none crit starsurge and 80k crit starsurge with 1 global inbetween them that i wasnt allowed to post)

this has to stop, it’s the same on my warrior, I started a game, used my on use str trinket, popped avatar, got a sudden death procc and this is how the game played out at 2.4k mmr vs RPS, Execute 35k -> Mortal strike 41k -> Heed my call procc 32k -> execute 35k, the story of how I killed a shadow priest who I Pummeled on Shadow school and he died in a stormbolt on his healer. Good 3v3 game where my partner hadn’t even left stealth yet.

DH manaburn - you removed Mana burn, drain mana, and viper sting. All Mana burns abilities that were somewhat interesting, and had a ton of outplay potential, Mana burn made 2v2 actually fun, feral disc/rogue disc/mage disc was all about cross CC’ing both and getting mana burns off, this required skill, and communication. It was FUN. Viper sting u had to stack debuffs on the target so it was difficult to dispel, required u to play with ur team mate and getting him to help you with stacking debuffs - not that impressive, but still. Drain Mana… ehhh it’s a warlock thing, they never require skill or anything, that one sucked. DH mana burn? Absolutely no counter play, whoever thought of this played too much Dota and not enough Wow. Now if Demon hunters didn’t have a stun to go with it and had to use his team mates bash or Storm bolt, that would be a different story. You removed mana burn effects for a reason, get your stuff together bois this is embarrassing.

Purge spam with no punishment - Shamans don’t really need mana to heal, so spam purging has no punishment, makes it really unfun to play a resto druid in PVP against a resto shaman. 80% nerf to Riptide, the azurite trait, and the Ripling waters pvp talent and we’re sorted!

Paladin CD’s (2x sac, 2x bop, bubble, trinket) - Paladins are so hit and miss, either they counter you and u have no chance because of their passive dispels (again who came up with this lol?) or their massive amount of CD’s that your comp cant counter, or you counter them and play RMP, and you auto win. Tone down the CD’’s and make them less reliant on them so that when u meet a WW monk u don’t auto win as a holy paladin, and when u meet a disc priest u don’t auto lose. It’s not fun.

Broken Azerite traits - There was many of these, atleast 10, you fixed them eventually, good job but once u fix something, like poison knife, don’t un-fix it again thanks. Keep it nerfed, I don’t care if it doesn’t work in arena the fact it works in world pvp again makes 0 sense.

Arcane mage cheese - seeing 3x arcane mage or 2x arcane mage + rogue in arena is really silly, again just a giant oversight by the devs, 6x arcane blast = death and since they do it out of invis makes it really awkward to try to counter play, and im 100% sure isn’t the gameplay blizzard was looking to create.

Fury Warrior Damage and enhancement shaman damage - In PVP these 2 are insane when it comes to damage output, but that is all they can do, and will just randomly kill you even if you have a strat that makes you win 99% of the time, they will just get some lucky crits, and 7x back to back storm strike proccs and u will randomly die through pain sup, or survival instincts or w/e. it’s fine in 2v2 where u only have to deal with 1 at a time, sometimes they will randomly global you, but in 3’s its kinda destructive to the gameplay, playing Jungle cleave against fury Turbo makes me sad. Playing turbo myself makes me sad, I’m 100% sure no one likes turbo, not the people playing it, not the people playing against it, can we give those classes something else than “ME SMORC” some actual CC or utility, and tune down there damage, especially looking at how insanely they scale its only gonna get worse.

Rogue Damage + CC - this class is borderline broken, I haven’t really played my rogue much, so I don’t really have much gear, but getting 2.1k in 2v2 with my 300 ilvl just hitting the enemy healer like it’s a target dummy is so brain dead it gave me PTSD flashbacks of playing Turbo cleave, rogue is one of the best designed classes you have for PVP, its interesting to outplay them, and its interesting being the rogue. Using range in order to read their next play so u can go bearform before than step -> kidney is actually fun. But can you just sort out assa rogues damage in PVP? A rogue should never out dps something like a warrior who has no CC in comparison.

Shimmer Poly - on my Rdruid this is annoying at best, on my Rshammy though, this is insane, if u ever fall behind pressure wise against a mage team this will just win them the game, its not fun not being able to interrupt a poly while spamming the key cuz Latency allows him to blink around the corner last 0.1 sec of his cast making it physically impossible to interrupt. Please remove shimmer poly from the game.

Battlefocus (disc priests) (screenshot of deatils where a disc was doing 9.8k dps and 288k battlefield focus famage was 39% of his total damage done that i wasnt allowed to post)

M+ Affixes

Explosive

Explosives spawning in the floor

More explosives spawning than the GCD cap allows me to kill (maybe reduce their health as well as cap the amount?)

Bolstering

Bolstering and HP pools in the dungeons design makes tanks kill small adds and buff the higher health mobs just for trying to hold aggro.

Teeming - I think that every dungeon got nerfed on teeming speaks for the incompetence of whoever worked on this on its own.

Infested - 2 infested mobs do not heal eachother, okay that kinda redeems this awful design, cool. but a mob that got infested by a spawn of ghuun still gets healed by another infested mob, insert trollface.jpg over the Blizzard logo.

Volcanic - Oh boy lets push this week, oh wait, theres 10000 roots or mass aoe abilities to wont allow u to move so u now have to facetank the mechanic  smart

Quaking - was low key OP in legion, most random plebs didnt understand just how dangerous that mechanic could be in a lot of dungeons, and generally just with bad timing, forcing ur healer, lets say its a Hpally, to stop his silver handed Flash of light with AOE beacon up could result in a lot of deaths very regularly as soon as u got to 24-28 level keys. then u had bosses like dressaron from DHT, where with bad timing the mechanic itself could just kill you all, but atleast u knew it could only happen with 20 second intervals, now its so random and honestly the hardest affix imo. but it back on the 20 second interval system again please. For anyone that didn’t know, back in Legion Quaking Could only trigger once every 20 seconds, with a limit of 60 seconds, meaning u had a timer that was 60 seconds long, and every 20 seconds there was a chance quaking would happen, if it did not, then maybe it happens once the timer hit 40 seconds, oh you got lucky it didn’t quake, now it is guaranteed to happen once ur timer hits 60 seconds. in BFA it just seems to be full on RNG and u can get it back to back.

also the insane bias in PVP based on RNG is nutty, one thing is how much RNG plays into an arena game atm, which is a whole topic on its own, but the fact that the vast majority of people are unable to get Battlefield Focus azerite traits at ilvl 385 is honestly just mental. only way to obtain them is to have atleast 2.1k rating, and getting insanely lucky from your weekly PVP chest. Now none of me or my friends have gotten one, we all had above 2.1k from the first week that arena was released, so the second week of BFA, that is 12 people, that all have ATLEAST 3 characters above 2.1k and none of us have a single piece. my warrior doesnt even have a single 370 piece from honorbound emissaries, azerite pieces really are just one giant mess

They started to destroy professions in Warlords IMO, and it’s never really recovered. The scrapper has devalued a lot of material values as well. The two the scrapper can’t give you are enchanting mats and herbs, so they have a reasonable market value.

Agreed, but the exact same major issue, with the same proffession, 2 expansions in a row? that really is just taking the piss, it took them 3 different fixes to sort it in legion, so obviously they saw it as an issue, but not big enough of an issue to implement the same fixes in BFA from launch.
