I would like to take this moment and send a message to everyone using the auction house to stop killing everyone’s including THEIR OWN gains from the auction house. So take a minute to actually read since the economy is already ruined for pretty much anything.

Secondly, in which case you are a peasant and have the “ME SELL CHEAP ME SELL FAST” mindset, then at least try to understand WHAT you are selling and how the market for it works.
Materials market = Mats usually all are sold within minutes if not seconds of posting since people are crafting non-stop and there is actually no reason to undercut. When you undercut mats you will sell 5 seconds faster than you would normally. Then when 10 of you come and undercut an item by 50g it drops the price by 500g and so on, which makes some items really pointless to craft and have to rely on multicraft to make a minimal gain.
Transmog market = People who buy transmog items that are very expensive on the auction house will buy them REGARDLESS of the price. If you for example (like just happened now) take Shadowghast helmet and undercut it from 10k to 6k you just killed the profit margin from 8k gold to 4k gold for not just you, but everyone else selling them. That item will not sell fast if you undercut by 40% like for example a “profaned t inderbox” that will be sold within seconds of posting. The transmog items are the ones that are sold when the one person who wants it comes to buy it, and will pay anything for it. If you listed 10 of them for 5k down from 10k IT WILL NOT SELL FASTER AT 5K because, and I cannot stress this enough… IT IS NOT A CONSUMABLE MATERIAL, ITS TRANSMOG.
Mounts market = Same principles apply like the transmog market. The person who wants that mount will come and buy it to its relative price. Goldenmane went from 400k to 100k due to undercutters. And it was selling good at 400k even, just not every day that someone bought it.
Conclusion, Transmog and mounts are NOT every day items. And are good to sit on the auction house and to surprise you with a decent amount of gold when they happen to sell. It’s not something you flip 500x per day unlike materials. If you drop the price you will not sell it instantly 50x

I’m going to keep setting whatever price I want. I use the AH to get rid of things for more than vendor price, not to run back and re-list things every 48 hours. As for saying you can set whatever price you want on transmogrification items and people will still buy it, that’s nonsense. Or maybe it isn’t and you just have to be willing to wait for months. Trying to sell various pieces of a themed set for 4 digit gold sum for multiple weeks, no sale. Selling it for 3 digits instead, gone within hours.

Have you even read the post? Undercut mats, fine. Enjoy 5 second faster sale, ruin the price NP. Transmog items will stay for days if not weeks on the AH even if you do undercut them by 50% so whats the point? It’s a targeted audience market, you wont sell it faster for 50% less.
I always undercut by a just a coin or 2.
It maintains the price, sells quicker and annoys people

Do you realize when supply goes up and demand is same = you have lower price right? There is no such thing as undercutting.

This. Something selling for 1599.99 ? Mine is 1599.98, I am first in the list, not grouped with anyone else and will make the same profit. It is stupid not to do this.
For mats, it’s the same thing. If it is <10g per pice, I just vendor them, who cares. If I have 3 stacks of it and it is under <10g, I still won’t sell it, goes straight into reagent bank for future alts crafting. If it is >10g, well guess what, mine is 1 copper cheaper, so there is a pretty good chance it will sell within 24h and not have to relist it over and over.
Now, there are always people that will sell their stuff at half the market price and call that undercutting. Yeah… these get sniped and relisted before you can even say cheese. I mean, yea you sold them but lost half the money in the process, that’s dumb. But these are rare occasions. Most people play the copper game.

in case of same prices only. if you put it up cheaper, it will sell first because ppl tend to favor less prices. that is why undercutting works.
People selling fast are the same as shops putting items on sale online. I bought an £160 pair of cycling shoes for £40 recently, in a sale. The shop put it on sale to entice fast spur of the moment buyers to clear out their stock.
People do this on AH, especially people who don’t really care about AH gold making but just wanna clean out their bags and offload stuff with the least hassle.

undercut is one thing but the real problem is price fixing.
When there is a thing for 200g and someone posts it for 50g people don’t check the available supply just instantly list it for 50g or 49.90 or something and then everyone does that and a new big pile stacks up.
1% undercut is not the problem.

Depends . I’m playing a lot with Ah .
Most of the time i just wanna sell fast and not playing with Ah etc . (But not selling life half price )
My loss at 500 k with the undercut that i’m doing is like 1% 2% max i did was 3% . It’s nothing considering the time i win by not playing with the 1 copper and 2 copper undercuts.
For 1 day i tried and odd enough almost 80% of time nothing sell and redo the same thing= reposting etc… over and over=no worth (also not using any AH or any kind of addon)
So depends on how people value their time . If they look at spending 1 more hour to make 5 more k …that’s dumb for me…
I undercut common items at ridiculous prices. Nobody is gonna pay 30k for a random raid trash epic boe from 3 expansions ago. Id rather sell it today for 5k than repost it every other day for months with no hope of getting rid of it.
Just because something is rare, doesn’t mean its valuable, there has to be a market for it.
