A shippers delight.
The Elf Empire is on the horizon, and it gets closer step by step.
I really dig little short stories like this that put the big stories aside for a little moment.
If anything, I was impressed by the writing style and now may have to give Shadows Rising a read when it comes out.
Aside from that, Thalyssra is quickly becoming one of my favourite Horde icons and I hope she joins us in Shadowlands.
Now if only the Nightborne models were a bit better…
Ion is finally fulfilling the prophecy.
She’s great and I love her.
Glad to see Rommath still being a true chad he always was
Lor’themar, Halduron and Rommath are the real dream trio team of WoW.
Would love to see them take on future challenges side by side.
It is not too late to resurect Garithos.
Join us on our Pelinal Crusade.
Eradicate all elves and their debauchery !
WoW should be broken up into a number of new factions, and the New Highborne Empire should be one of them.
I hope they’re holding hands in this scenario. My edit nuked that sentence and I didn’t notice.
The writing is pretty good. I get the impression I’m not really the target audience as someone who doesn’t particularly like Horde Elves, though it does feel somewhat… Odd, I suppose?
Lor’themar and Thalyssra have had… Like, two on-screen moments together and the remainder have been Thalyssra musing about how she should talk to Lor’themar about the developments in the Horde story. It’s probably disingenuous to demand a particularly character-driven romance from any game that’s not intensely focused on characters and their relationships, though.
i shall continue to stir my cauldron of faint praise
It’s implied more has been going on behind the scenes, I feel.
Unfortunately story screen time in WoW is an extremely scarce resource and mostly reserved for world-twisting events.
Read it and loved it. I’m a sucker for well-written romance like this.
This is a lot of the problem. Character development doesn’t exist much in game due to very limited space to do it. Especially for major characters.
Weird because you really didn’t enjoy my Shandris and John Keeshan fanfic…
i google how to delete blizzards website
600 pages of you copy-and-pasting “HUMAN POTENTIAL” isn’t a very good read.
“And what a pleasure it is to be in this city of ancient wonder and tradition, graced with the presence of venerable artists and thinkers,” Lor’themar said, watching Thalyssra melt into the shadows of the pavilion. Though she stood in darkness, he could see only her.
Yeah, but sometimes it makes sense. A written story gives insight to character thoughts in a manner the game cannot. Not every moment is for us to stand and watch, like this story. It wouldn’t have the same impact if they had their moment, and some Horde champions just stood there and oogled them as it happened. More should be in the game to make sense of things, but things like this should be kept far away from the game because it is better on a page.
I expected to roll my eyes as I felt this relationship was a little shoehorned (though not entirely out of the question, I suppose) but it was ultimately a pretty nicely written piece & I liked reading it for what it was
That’s my take. Didn’t ask? Don’t care mate!!!
After the timeskip, the descendants of Lor’themar and Thalyssra form the next allied race:
The awe-inspiring Twilight Elves.
why must you hurt me in this way
That story was actually really beautifully written and I love it.
