[A-RP] Hand of Xe'ra ☀ - Post-4th War Edition

War. It is what we have known for all of our lifetime. We banded together, in times of need, under one banner. One crusade. Led by the Mother of Light, we were blessed with Her gracious gift. Bathed in the Light, we achieved utmost serenity and never ceased our resistance against the Dark Titan’s armies. For home, for family, for the Light. We protected the Dark Beyond for countless of generations.

Though the Light Mother might have fallen, Her champions endured and the Dark Titan was vanquished. We are the protectors of creation and Her chosen paragons. Now, on side of the Alliance and under the High Exarch’s will, we shall protect the brightest light in all of the Great Dark Beyond - Azeroth.

The Prophet has foretold the arrival of the Grand Army of the Light, and within his vision, he set eyes on an Army that did not only consist of Draenei, but of noble races. Humans, dwarves, elves, even redeemed creatures the likes of High Commander Lothraxion. Driven by His powerful vision, that a great war between the Darkness and the Light is fast approaching and that Azeroth will be its principal battleground, we must stand bravely against the Shadow to ensure our newfound allies are ready for the next wars to come.

To achieve this goal, the Army of the Light, in collaboration with the Seventh Legion and Hand of Argus, has brought a powerful Alliance squadron of highly-skilled Light champions into being: the Hand of Xe’ra. This military squadron seeks to educate and recruit incredibly gifted Paladins, Priests and other Light wielders alike - keeping the legacy of Xe’ra and the Naaru alive.

By swearing an oath to not only the unit, but to the Light Mother, their champions forge a new destiny and seek to bring upon a New Dawn. Dedicated to war, to achieve peace eternal and to lock away the Shadows - forever.

Aar-don’sha, ki kahl’dos. In the Light, we triumph.

Who we are:

The “Hand of Xe’ra” is a draenei-led military organisation that seeks to unite all Alliance paladins/priests/light-wielders under the banner of the Army of the Light. The Hand exists as squadron of Alliance/Army of the Light members, deployed all across Azeroth to oversee Alliance operations, as well as thwart efforts enacted against our faction.

Dedicated to preserve Life and uphold the principles of the Holy Light, we seek to gather a new coaliation of warriors to battle the Horde and thus safeguard the world soul Azeroth from further harm. Be it that we battle old enemies, such as Legion remnants, lurking in the darkest corners of the Twisting Nether, the loyal followers of the Banshee Queen, or the rising threat of the Void and Old God minions.

The Hand works close with other Alliance elite units and we are part of the Ardent Conclave. Others may call us “The Purified”, as our guild closely ties in to their concept.

The Hand welcomes any champion of the Light into their ranks after they have passed the initiation trials (Trials of the Naaru). We are NOT Draenei only!

Our goal:

We seek to host engaging Holy Light-themed events that offer as much player freedom and dynamic as possible.

Although a military guild at heart, we do not host your average training sessions (formation training, sparring). We are the elite. We expect you to know this already.

Instead, we educate about the Holy Light and the Naaru, we meditate or we venture out into the world of Azeroth or Outland: we defend the borders of the Azuremyst and Bloodmyst Isles, we besiege certain military points of interest or discover and purify ancient artifacts that may pose a threat to everyone! Need a hand in an exorcism? Our Anchorites can help you out.

What makes our guild unique?

Multi-racial aspect

The Hand of Xe’ra exists as a multi-racial Holy Light guild, led by the backbone of Draenei and Army of the Light culture. What does that mean? We focus especially on the high-fantasy aspect of the Warcraft universe and by endorsing Paladin/Army of the Light roleplay as lore-friendly as possible.

No matter your race, you can choose to be an Artificer, tinkering and crafting otherworldly technology, or become an Anchorite (Priest), the religious backbone, blessing and fortifying their brethren with holy rites. We do not discriminate one another by race.

An ongoing main narrative

Despite the recent efforts in the Fourth War, we have not forlorn our ancient duty and traditions. We offer events revolving around slaying and banishing demons or other dark anomalities.

Recently, the Hand of Xe’ra has ventured to Outland and discovered a horrible truth: a cadet of Man’ari Eredar has survived the Dark Titan’s fall and now subjugate those worthy enough to become fel-corrupted minions. These power-hungry demon commanders seek to restore their former glory, operating from the deepest corners of the Twisting Nether.

These undercover missions are forced to be kept a secret. Leaking this information publically through IC-means is punishable.

Trials of the Naaru

In order to become fully initiated, our recruits have to complete a set of trials, inspired by the Trials of Naaru on Outland. The initiates must prove their Strength, Mercy and Tenacity. These trials are not designed to become Lightforged! The trials act as proof that these soldiers are truly the elite and most stoic light followers.

(Note: we do not lightforge any race but Draenei! By that, we avoid lore-breaking special snowflake cases.)

Activity

We are a casual group of roleplayers who host events with passion, something that might take up a few days of planning, depending how many people work on the event. That means, that we have no tight or strict event schedule. But we usually host bigger events during the weekend (Friday-Saturday-Sunday) and smaller events during the week. Our events usually start at 8PM server time.

Our style of DM'ed events:

Anything your heart desires. We roleplay through RP-PvP/PvE and partake in many fitting RP campaigns.

Take the consequences of your actions serious. Every phrase and action can affect or change the course and the outcome of the event to the DM’s discretion. Your character’s actions will have consequences and shape the storyline of our guild’s events. Multiple endings instead of a linear storyline are important to us and our character developments. Decision making as an unity but also individual choices will take place and we expect a keen interest in this style and also a profound knowledge of your character’s lore and concept.

We host regular DM’ed events that differ from your average attack/defense waves. NPCs are mostly played by actual players. Our events focus mostly on negotiation, scouting, finding clues, unveiling mysteries, etc. to reach a goal and solve its problem, mostly ending in a climatic ending. Of course, due to the nature of our squadron, we also fight off enemy forces with the use of our Lightforged arsenal (Argunite ftw!)

Hierarchy (lowest to highest):
  • Neophyte:
New aspiring member, basic recruit ranks. Experienced Lightforged with history in the Army of the Light are also placed here while awaiting their pending transfer application into the unit.
After attending a few events, they may undertake their initiation trial (“Trials of the Naaru”) to prove their worth.
After successfully passing the Trials of the Naaru, the initiate will decide which branch to join.

  • Auxiliary:
A special rank, reserved for those who serve the Hand of Xe’ra as outside forces. They are part of other orders, but gladly act as reinforcement. This is a rank for people who are OOC-ly in other guilds, e.g. raid guilds and are unable to join the guild through gameplay means. They do not undergo initiation trials, nor can they ascend to higher ranks. But their concerns are always valid. They enjoy the same rights as other ranks.)

There are three branches to choose from:

• The Infantry Branch. The umbrella term for Warriors, Dragoons and Paladins, a bit more hack’n’slash, heavy armor, frontline-themed.

• The Purified Branch , which is the umbrella term for Mages and Priests, more magical and focused on healing and “Purging”. Spiritual RP-themed.

• The Scout Branch , which is the umbrella term for Hunters and “Artificer” characters, more focused on scouting, coordinating, tech, sabotage, mech and long range-warfare.

  • The Prime
This rank is given to trustworthy members of the guild that have been around a long while and been active throughout their stay. They are veterans of the guild IC and OOC, and newer members may go to them for guidance and advice, both IC and OOC. They are able to recruit people through IC-means and take over command in the absence of the Council.

  • The Council
The Officer rank of the guild. The goal is to have at least three officers that act as head to their branch, each paying a bit more attention to their own branch IC, while, of course, still be an officer to everyone OOC. Currently we only have two council members: High Vindicator Kha’raas and Adjutant Tol’vuul.

  • The High Vindicator
The current leadership position of the unit who takes up utmost responsibility: Kha’raas. He follows the commands of both Captain Fareeya and the Army of the Light’s council of exarchs. He oversees recruitment and initiation processes of the Hand, council sessions, maintains diplomatic relations with other orders, and organises court hearings in serious affairs.

Dress Code:

We have an on-duty uniform at place. That is why it is recommended to join on a high-lvl’d character. The uniforms differ from rank to rank.

The sets are easy to obtain. The initiate unifroms are PvP gear sets are from Season 5, 6 and 7 in Legion. Easily obtainable for only 12 Marks of Honor.

The “member” uniform is the Seat of the Triumvirate & Ensemble set.

Note: Any Lightforged character can use the Heritage armor as uniform, no matter their rank. That means you can wear your heritage armor as Initiate and higher.

Hi there! I would heavily advise not putting the title in caps, as it makes it more difficult to read. Those are some nice screenies, on another note!

Letters are sent out to commanders, soldiers and auxilliaries of the Hand of Xe’ra, Sons of Silver and Army of the Light alike.

Some posters are spread across the noticeboards on the Vindicaar as well, reading:

HIGH VINDICATOR KHA’RAAS ACCUSED - Hand of Xe’ra currently under investigation

The letter reads:

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! ATTENTION!

Word has reached the Council of Exarchs that SENIOR ARTIFICER TALAGAR has accused HIGH VINDICATOR KHA’RAAS with RECKLESS CONDUCT and an AUXILIARY UNIT by the name of VINDICATOR DAELINDRI with INTIMIDATION and LIFE-THREATENING BEHAVIOUR.

HIGH VINDICATOR KHA’RAAS - in charge of the sub-unit HAND OF XE’RA - has recently operated his unit into the Swamp of Sorrows, resulting in the DESTRUCTION of a Lost One village.

VINDICATOR DAELINDRI - acted as Auxilary unit to the HAND OF XE’RA - VERBALLY FORSAKE the orders of higher-ranked commando and THREATENED the SENIOR ARTIFICER after the frustating mission’s result.

To investigate the matter, the accused shall STAND TRIAL on the VINDICAAR. Under the watchful eyes of HIGH-COMMANDER VAA’RUN, the accused shall be judged accordingly, relying on offical Alliance and Army of the Light laws.

May the Light watch over them.

~ Centurion Lemaaros, High-Commander of the Council of Exarchs.

(OOC information: The judicial trial event will take place on TUESDAY, 8:30 SERVER TIME.
LOCATION: the VINDICAAR (Argus-version).

Do not worry if you are low-lvl’d, our portal-service can easily port you to the Argus-version!)

The trial of Kha’raas/Daelindri came to a strict conclusion a few days ago. Silver Hand knights, along with Draenei vindicators and other allies gathered on the faithful day on the Vindicaar to witness the trial.

Some attendants were struck with shock upon hearing what had transpired, some grieved, some were filled with determination.

The judge declared, that the Hand of Xe’ra will be under strict surveillance from now on. A Sunshield by the name of Ru’maara will accompany the unit for the following three months, noting down the accomplishments and possible failures of the Hand’s missions.

Should everything go as planned, without any suspicions, the High Vindicator will keep his duty as commander.

Should he fail to uphold the tennants of the Grand Army of the Light however, he will be demoted and brought out of the service for the Hand of Xe’ra.

Vindicator Daelindri was denied the permit to be promoted to High Vindicator for the given time. She shall prove her merit and ambition to serve the Army and the Light’s Will in the following months as well.

A time of hardship awaits both parties from now on . . .

With this change of events, the HoX continues its last week before our holiday hiatus! And we proceed with quite the pace!

Next week, we will start a small 2-day long RP campaign called “Crystal Calamity” on OUTLAND! We will pave our way from Shattrath across the forgotten world, through the dense Zangarmarsh, up to the BLADE’S EDGE MOUNTAINS in the north, where the world bleeds into the Twisting Nether, to seek out another source of crystalline material; crystals that became legends: the Apexis crystals.

Yet other dangers await us on our way there… and the outcome is yet shrouded in mystery.

Join the HoX to enjoy this campaign and many more with us!

If you wish to join us, the perfect opportunity will be Tuesday, 17th December 8:00 PM server time. We will host a purification and training session on the Vindicaar & Azuremyst Isle. But I’ll keep it spoiler-free for now.

Praised be the Mother of Light and her loyal paragons!

Small update, guys!

Given that the 20th/21st is the start of the holidays for most, we have moved the RP campaign to another day, another week.

We’ll be hosting the campaign after the holidays + new year’s eve, so we will host it in early January instead, when everyone is back home and ready for more quality RP time!

However, we’ll still host a mini-event for the guild on Tuesday, 8 PM server time. If you’re interested, contact us!

Archenon poros children of the Light

Today on Tuesday December 17 a new event is taking place, starting on the Vindicaar. A few months ago Hand of Xe’ra has captured an evasive imp known as Taar, today the process of purification shall be initiated to test the resolve of this wicked creature and observe whether or not its soul shall yet be saved in the Light’s grace.

No matter the result of this purification, the Hand shall then move on to the training session on Azuremyst isle where High Vindicator Kha’raas shall explain the pros and cons of the Lightforged weaponry and how to use each properly.

The event is starting at 8PM server time. Be there or be squared-… ahem. Square. Sorry.

Beaten and bruised, the soldiers returned to the Vindicaar, settling for the night with a few bottles of Sunglow - an exceptional change for the Hand, the High Vindicator did not always allow the consumption of alcohol within his ranks. Some soldiers spoke about an assault, a rising Naga threat on the western shores of the Azuremyst Isle, and yet others spoke about the strange events that transpired on the Vindicaar that evening.

On that fateful evening, the Hand of Xe’ra freed a hideous imp by the name of “Taar” from his prison. In a radical experiment, the Hand sought to investigate if more demons, the likes of High Commander Lothraxion, would be able to turn to the Light, now after the Dark Titan’s fall.

Long had the imp awaited his freedom. Ever since the Hand’s campaign in Felwood he had waited, plotted countless of plans - all of them for naught. But this was far better than the punishment he would have received on Antorus, a time ago, during Sargeras’ reign.

The ever so intense and bright holy aura of the Vindicaar’s crystalline prison cell started to peel the imp’s fel-corrupted skin, leaving the imp wrinkled and covered in hideously swollen blisters. To prevent the further degeneration of the demon’s state, the Hand had wrapped him up in a bundle of Felhide leather, hoping that it would keep the being safe until the ritual.

The imp’s freedom, however, was short-lived. After being carried and revealed in the Main Hall of the Vindicaar, his soul and mind were transported to the Forge of Aeons and yet, he perished inside, ending the miserable life of Taar “the Destroyer”, proving how weakwilled these beings truly were.

Of course the Hand did not mourn. In fact, it bolstered their faith in the Holy Light’s will even more - one could not force redemption upon a damned demon’s soul. Wherever Taar’s soul might now linger, the populace of Azeroth was at least safe from one more surviving demon. Albeit that Taar had been a mere small trickster - his pitiful kind was still out there; plotting, scheming, corrupting. Even without Sargeras commanding them, they would hide in the shadows, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.

The Hand did not linger long on the Vindicaar after these drastic events. Instead, they ventured down to the Azuremyst Isle and heeded the summons of the Hand of Argus. There, they were told that a sucpicious Naga threat arose in the Highborne ruins on the western shores nearby. Thus, the High Vindicator proposed a quick hit-and-run assault, the Grand Army’s specialty.

The plan worked.

After assaulting the bay, scattering the Naga forces, the Hand of Xe’ra was able to reach a cave. But, when they tried to cave in whatever lied inside, a gigantic and powerful foe emerged: a Naga lord. Having fought no such foe before in a thousand years, some soldiers were taken out quickly, one of the Augari, Asaadar, was even briefly possessed by a Zoatroid. It was only due to their comradeship and the interference of their Warframe that the Naga lord perished in the end.

Their victory came short lived. When they were about to collapse the cave, they overheard the incantation of a dangerous hydromancy spell, one that could possibly wash the Isle into oblivion!

And so, the soldiers stormed the cave, willingly accepting the risk of a possible death. Yet none perished that day. The ritual was stopped and the Sea Witch was no more, for the Light had judged her that day. She perished.

They made their way back to the Exodar and enjoyed a few Sunglow drinks in the ‘Exobar’ before they teleported themselves back to their base which silently orbited around Azeroth.

In the near future, the steadfast soldiers of the Hand of Xe’ra would see yet another day lived on one of the countless battlefields that shall await them, always and evermore. . .
