[A/N-RP] Freywood Commodities

Prologue

Johnny waves, offering his most charming smile. ‘’Hope to see you again!’’ he yells after a departing patron, sighing in a lengthy fashion as soon as she turns the corner. Finally, some peace and quiet. Turning around, he grabs the raggedy piece of cloth to drag it across the bar, getting rid of a few stains here and there. After years of working here, he learned that it’s a lot easier to keep things clean by getting rid of any spills as soon as possible, instead of letting it dry up to become a sticky mass. Tossing the stained piece of cloth in a nearby bucket, Johnny drags his hands across his pants.

Surprisingly enough, the bar was left in a relatively good state. A few pieces of broken glass shimmer in the corner, and half-full glasses decorate various tables.

He’ll take a break as soon as he’s cleaned the mess up. Today he won’t make the same mistake of putting his needs first, no doubt will his boss find out and be angry. Again. Managing to refrain from rolling his eyes, Johnny drags his feet through the bar to collect the various glasses and bits of trash the customers left behind. Blinking lazily, another shimmer catches his eye. Similar to glass, but not quite the same. With a new found motivation, he heads to the nearby wooden table to observe the elegant, pure golden ring. A few foreign engravings have been carved into it, and a big, polished gem tops it off. Now, he’s a good man, he wouldn’t dare to steal from someone. But… the Inn was entirely empty, and he couldn’t remember for the life of him who sat at this booth. Only one thing to do.

Strolling behind the bar once again, the exhausted male planted down the platter full of plates and glasses. He then opened a drawer, tossing the ring in. He lost count of the amount of things he stumbled across, in his time working here. The most weird things too. Most of the time he stores the items in the counter, hoping the owner will return one day, to recover their belongings. But they never really do. He carefully draws his hand through the crooked drawer, causing various clinking sounds as he does. Jewellery, gems, pictures and even weapons had been collected over the years. Humming to himself, Johnny’s thoughts ventured to the many conversations he’s overheard. Business is good in Booty Bay, you can sell pretty much anything and everything here. Maybe he should make use of that. It’ll sure pay better than this lousy job.

Whilst nodding to himself, Johnny reaches back for the raggedy piece of cloth to drain the water from it, back into the bucket. Ideas begin to cloud his head as he cleans the wooden tables, his eyes lighting up. ‘’Freywood Commodities,’’ he randomly muttered to himself. Nodding once again, this time more firm, he raised his head to peer outside. It was still light. If he left now, he could be in Stormwind in time to register his new company. It’d have to be a neutral business too, since he’ll work in Booty Bay. Tossing the cloth behind the bar, the familiar splosh of water forces a pleasant smirk on his lips.

Already leaving the establishment, Johnny briefly turns around, waving at his colleague. ‘’Cover my shift for today, will you? I’ll be back in a bit!’’ Smiling, the man quickly continues his stride for the gryphon master. Today is going to be a good day. This is how the company started and it will only get more fun from here!

Thank you for getting this far! If you’re even slightly interested in our concept, read on:

What do we offer you?

We try to offer you Tavern, Merchant & Smuggling Roleplay. Based in Booty Bay there is bound to be roleplay that involves criminal activities which we don’t shy away from either. We do supply runs from Booty Bay to any other place where business brings us. We aim to set up our own farms, oil rigs & mines where we can gather resources and eventually refine them through roleplayers within the guild, then using our merchant carts and stands to sell these goods. While the main base of operations will be the Salty Sailor in Booty bay.
We offer RP to both factions as there are no plans to set up a horde guild you can still get recruited we simply ask you to stay in contact with us through our discord server and add the guildname preferably in the title section of your TRP.

Recruitment

Our guild is relatively underpowered. For that reason, we put strict limits on who we let in, and who we don’t. Illidari, Death Knights, and heavily powered magical characters are a strict no, and would be better suited to another guild unless you can convince us that your character is different. Our focus is trading, and making deals. We are not a military, and we are not a war band. Characters that would find themselves in these would also be best suited to another place. We are a company, and more like a family, than anything else. To this end, OOC drama is strongly discouraged. Of course, in large guilds, there’s bound to be a few mishaps, and rather than discourage anyone to stop speaking up if they have issues, please bring any thoughts you have to an officer. IC and OOC is never crossed, and if it is, we are strict with regards to who we keep in. If for OOC reasons we cannot keep you within the guild, we will discuss with you as to the best way to combat this IC. To this end, Johnny does not enjoy cleaning up mess. If your character has too much drama revolving around them in character, we cannot promise they will stay for long, on an IC level. With that in mind, if you -are- interested, feel free to come to our location at The Salty Sailor Tavern and meet us ICly. After that, tell us a bit more about your character. What drives them, and what goals they have, their reasoning for joining the company. Upon joining, if our officers are happy, you will be placed on a trial, until we have properly assessed if your character will fully fit in with us or not. This may not apply to characters we know fully, and how they RP.

Hierachy

Boss - They have the final say in anything that happens within or to the company.

Management - The trusted ones by the boss that know exactly what he wants and what he is after and how he would handle certain situations, sometimes even better than him. They deal with the common problems that arise within the Company.

Employee - The backbone of the money making machine, May it be Smugglers, Merchants, Investors, Blacksmiths, Engineers, Laborers. (This rank is subject to change as RP evolves the guild.)

Thanks you!

This sounds like a great initiative Freywood. Its got its niche in the Booty Bay RP scene, but still sounds like its got a lot of variety with the smuggling and resource gathering to offer a bit of RP for everyone!

Fingers crossed that turning the Salty Sailor into your base won’t end up with Inkeeper Skindle and Nixxrax Fillamug being ousted though? Those two NPCs have been, and continue to be, a pretty big part of the Salty Sailor roleplay (like Gravy in the Wyvern’s Tail) and it’d be a shame to have them get booted out by “new owners”.

Regardless, I wish you the best of luck!

They are still a big part of RP and will remain so! When people from the guild aren’t around people use them to get their drinks from! Or when they don’t wish to RP with us they’re free to RP with Nixx and Skindle! The way we go IC is that we work together with him through the Baron NPC. ! Thanks for your kind words, and hopefully this answers your question!

Johnny here is a cool guy, get involved before we pirates steal your booty!

As long as it doesnt get as bad as tavern “ownership” in Stormwind I reckon this is a great idea/guild, and knowing Johnny it shouldn’t be, so a bump of support from us.

When we’re next in Booty Bay the Men will see about using you as a fence :+1:

Hmm… Enterprise means customers… Customers means buying… Buying means exchange of goods… Exchange of goods means… Woah, it means GOOOLD?!

heaves the :pirate_flag:

But regardless, glad to see the Bay being developed even more.

Thanks for the words people! We’ll be attending the market in Uldum and hopefully make lots of deals with other folks in character!
