[A/N* RP] The Argent Vanguard

As night falls over a cold winters evening in Azeroth, a small group of Hooded riders arrive in Duskwood, tying up their horses and heading inside to the inn, three of the men stand at the bar, ordering pitchers of water and some fresh baked bread for food while the others move close to the fire, warming their hands and scanning around the Inn. Through the background chatter the sound of a young voice cuts through the noise, “Sir, who are those men over there?” - As the young squire is hushed by his master…one of the men at the bar turns slowly, offering the young squire a polite nod and a smile under his hood. “Those men there son… they’re members of The Argent Crusade”

OOC info -

The Argent Vanguard is an Argent Crusade themed RP guild, the purpose of the Vanguard regiment is to seek out potential threats, and Identify, isolate and eradicate them before the threat has chance to grow, requiring the full force of the Crusade.

We are a friendly, long term group of friends looking to expand our RP group into a larger, fun community who have frequent RP events, Casual RP throughout the week and some actual PvP and PvE on the odd occasion!

We’re aware that the Crusade as a group have been fairly neglected since Legion, and we have remained as close as we can to Lore to keep the guild functioning, and hope that the future including Shadowlands may re-introduce the Crusade as a firm element of current WoW Lore.

For OOC questions, recruitment or more info feel free to get in touch with one of our officers!

Proctus, Garatt, Liambedson or Dasrin.

Doesn’t that make Duskwood a strange place for the Argent Crusade to rear their heads? An organization with the sole purpose of restoring the Plaguelands and vanquishing the Scourge?

Why can’t they kill undead in Duskwood?

That’s the job of the Night’s Watch to handle undead affairs in Duskwood, not the Argent Crusade.

Considering the Night Watch has unknown status after what happened in Legion (if you played Rogue you might know what Iam talking about), I dont see why not the Crusade cant be worried about it frankly.

The Argent Crusade is also a neutral faction, and Duskwood is Alliance territory. I’ll be honest, it’s gotten real stale and boring with the amount of neutral faction RPers from Cenarions to Ebons in the zone. Especially when they keep inviting Horde characters close to the town for friendly chit-chats.

Good luck with the guild, though. There isn’t as much Argent RP as there used to be.

you’re doing yourself a major disservice by trying to be [Generic Duskwood Guild] amigos. There’s already 500 cultist-hunters, 6K bounty hunters, 30 illidari and a billion paladins there, not to mention the DKs.

Trust me, Duskwood doesn’t need more people hunting raid marker enemies, plaguelands does.

I’ve done careful research into the guild and have a couple of questions I would ask about its current members.

Why does one of the listed officers (Proctus) have a female draenei alt dressed in mageweave? I am not one to dig into other people’s private territory too much, but it does give me some funny thoughts.

I was also wondering about whether you were planning to run a Scarlet Crusade Äbômínætîœn rehabilitation program? Because you have an odd crossover with them.

Also, as a side note, I’m very peeved by the IMPRESSIVELY stupid neutrality shown in Duskwood by most of its fans and don’t see why Argent Crusade would really go there. Maybe… just maybe… not every RP guild should be in DW. I say that after I’ve seen Defias Brotherhood, noble houses, 7th Legion and [insert every faction name] crammed into the zone without any taste.

Anyways, that’s enough 3 am posting for me.

Purge the Argent heretics !

I find the location odd as well and would prefer to see the Argents up in Lordaeron, I believe there’s even a Scarlet guild you could feud with?

On the other hand…

Man, Crowton, out of all the things to (rightfully) criticise this guild for you’re being a real creep by stalking alts like that. Why? Surely you could come up with something better than that?

He did. Rather condemningly, in fact.

Let me also take this moment to laugh at Galford/Tirion’s upvote + hypocrisy, whose entire relevance is gone thanks to check-pvp.

Which I understand doesn’t do him any favours. That said, I would hope that OP doesn’t drag any of that stuff into their RP and does create a good Argent guild. Maybe he’ll even reconsider the Duskwood stuff based on the comments here. :man_shrugging:

Maybe he ought to reconsider harboring the griefer in his guild, is what I hope you were trying to say amidst the soft PR talk.

Maybe he will, but we will have to see what he has to say about it.

Hearthglen and Light’s Hope looking empty this year.

edit: I concur with what Lotheridan said earlier, if it’s an Argent guild, I’d definitely be looking to progress your guild’s narrative within the regions of the Eastern Plaguelands, Western Plaguelands, etc. I also understand that there’s probably the issue with the amount of roleplay going on, up in those parts - which is considerably scarce (yet there is still some!) compared to the likes of Duskwood.

So… Ive read all the comments and I agree with the majority…Yes there isn’t much reason for the Crusade to be in Duskwood, and we do RP primarily in Hearthglen and the surrounding areas as a guild. - The mention of Duskwood is purely for the reason of… when struggling to find new members, and if we want to recruit in game, its best to go where the players are (in theory)

I guess the only thing that has really… shocked me to an extent is you Crowton, On a post about a guild recruiting I find it massively bizzare that you would spend your time, Check-PVPing the whole roster to find out info on their alts and draw fault with them? Thats not just looking for a fault with the guild, thats looking for a fault in the players, which just seems like a very toxic personality trait as a person, not just a WoW player.

I know when I recruit people, I dont sit and Check-PVP them…Maybe I should? Maybe I should just trust the people we’re recruiting until given reason not too…But I do have to thank you for bringing the Scarlett Crusade Member to my attention, who has since been removed.

BUT…back to the Topic at hand, to which I didn’t expect so many responses…we’re just a humble little RP guild looking to recruit a little more to increase our small but friendly community - We are going to remain in Plaguelands and HG ICly, and should anyone wish to join us…they’d be more than welcome.

What is the Argent Vanguards view on the Ebon Blade after the events at Light’s Hope Chapel?

Do they hold grudges and refuse to cooperated or have they managed to try to look past it due to past actions done together (mainly Northrend War) and open towards cooperation against common threats example in the Plaguelands?

I love to see that a Argent Crusade guild is around the last one I remember was the Mardenholde Accord and I was sadly not active within the Ebon scene back then.

So hope to encounter you guys when we appear sometimes in the Plaguelands!

I’m gonna write something positive here: I just remembered that I’ve been with officers of this guild in the ‘original’ Argent Crusade guild some time ago when I was new to WoW RP and it was the first guild that I joined and from where I learnt how to RP even better. So yeah I recommend these people, they’re really cool
