A need to explain - Flagged for lock

The thread started weird and has now got bizarre

That’s a dangerous path to walk on any forum… everything you write will be picked apart now. And, as others have pointed out, some examples of your compound sentences are a little… erratic at best.

I never try to do that, even if anyone felt I did; I used 'big words 'cos i could, but I know know I wasted my time.

If this is what leads anyone to my delusion of grandeur, nothing could be further from the truth - I categorically wish my knowledge retention & retrieval was less of a personal burden than it is, on occasions.

I didn’t ask for this thread to be locked on a whim, I sincerely wish this whole experience to be removed from existence.

You are an odd fish - never change :grinning:

I’ve been told on several occasions that I over-burden questions with irrelevant/excess detail… and now know the explanation is a mental one I don’t have full control over, all the time.

I have no clue what this topic is about.

But I think Eighjan would have a fieldday looking up Kyle Jeremy clips on youtube.

Well you can’t expect me to just remove myself from these forums…

If it’s any consolation, I don’t think I’m big and clev–ppffftbwahhaha, sorry, couldn’t write that with a straight face if I tried.

Define harder content.

Raid and dungeons are locked on item levels and simple pattern recognition that can eventually be executed flawlessly upon rinse and repeat.

The true challenge in the game is to out shine everyone else in player versus player combat. As it is the only source of game play based on pure randomness you can never fully anticipate the actions of your opponents or what opponent you might face. It’s not something you can simply learn via pattern recognition such as pre-scripted raids and dungeons.

No it’s a game on its own, a game that only evolves around the player’s knowledge and skill and not the ability to press the right buttons at the right time which is being alerted to them ahead in time via addons such as DBM.

So for the love of god stop pretending clearing a mythic raid is “harder” content. It’s not, get the right gear, learn the patterns and voila you’re done.

I used to raid, but I am sick and tired of it.
There’s no true challenge in it nor fun, as everyone is too busy dps racing each other and discussing what boss to do next based on personal loot preferences.

It might have been turned down a notch since I last raided, but I hardly doubt people are truly experiencing any fun in raids.
It’s a chore and a contest rather than a epic social experience.
And once it’s over, everyone’s back to solo playing the remainder of their time.

This game has issues a lot of issues, it’s lacking interesting and challenging content and it’s lacking a healthy and socially active community.
And personally I think the 2nd problem, is the biggest problem of them all.

MMO’s are dying because popular titles became to accessible for any casual to pick up and merge with the already existing community.
Taking their personal interest and lack of social skills in to the game, badgering the developers to the extend that they’re bullied in to releasing LFR and flex modes, so everyone get’s a shot at end game content.

Now 8.1 has come out and the added content is comically bad, it’s just a few hours of extra lore. The rest is rinse and repeat pve with no sense of accomplishment nor progression.

There is no true harder content.

Can’t stand what “The Jeremy Kyle Show” stands for… pure exhibitionism, despite any remedial care/assistance made available afterwards.

Doesn’t everyone find great enjoyment looking up Jeremy Kyle clips on YouTube?

Whose the daddy?

Did she really use a toffee crisp wrapper?

Who pooped in the fridge?

Actually I was referring to the sorry excuse of a language they speak on that show. The guests, that is.

Airing dirty laundry in public is what it is; language, accent & dialect are just victims of geography.

… and no I don’t take pleasure in any apparent lack of intelligence or education.

Pretty sure they allow it to be aired willingly. Says more about the guests willing to appear on that show, than about the show itself. But I’ll refrain from derailing this thread further with that nonsense :stuck_out_tongue:

Sounds more like textspeak, spoken out loud.

You would be surprised how much the lack of intelligence is put on with some of them.

When social media sites are part of the cause for any issues on the show, I do share Jeremy’s disbelief on why some share what they do on such sites.

If it adds to the ‘exhibition factor’…? No, I wouldn’t

I don’t, but then, that’s because I run with a worldview that people are stupid.

Suddenly a lot of things make a LOT more sense, so I’m never truly in disbelief. It all fits in my image of humanity.

If you ever find yourself ‘in disbelief’, all it says is that your image of humanity is wrong. As in, you likely overestimate them and their intelligence.

Can you kids please stick to the subject matter rather than using this topic as a private chat?

What subject matter? English language?

There is a large difference between text-talk and academical sounding talk. Keep in mind that for most people on the forums English is a second language that many learned watching cartoons and listening to music, something I doubt many native English speakers do with other languages even in their basic forms. You may see the use of the English language as a mere obligation on these forums, but try to think at it as also a form of courtesy from those that do no learn it at home for the sake of people finding a common ground.

@OP, I did not catch your post from yesterday, and thus I don’t know what it was about. Regarding this topic, I agree people are free to choose how they spend their time in game, but…what is the problem with that?

You could end that loop by finding a definition of informal speech being same thing as text-talk. Myself, I’ve never confused them, nor have I ever heard about what you claim as “common” on the internet. My suspicion is that you can’t actually find such a definition, which makes your “literary” position a bit ironical.

By ‘kids’, do you include me, the thread creator…?

In respect of Jeremy’s ‘pet hate (once?) social media site’, I stopped using it a good while ago because ‘getting what people wrote’ wrong - as well as others not getting what I wrote/meant wrong - lead to angry arguments that should never happened.

I’m a great believer of what happens in a private setting should be discussed/mediated in private & never be used a s a source of public entertainment.

An example of the ‘overthinking’ I do & despise, on occasion, that ^^^ small paragraph took me a good 10-15min’s. to word to my satisfaction, that it would be concise enough to not be confusing. :frowning:
