A question about a class

Heya fellas,

I want to know one thing about the possibility of one class in the role play.

It’s possible if I wan’t to become an highelf spellbreaker? I mean the lorewise information about spellbreakers, that we have, aren’t so much and in the cutscene of wc3 where kael’thas arrived with his spellbreakers are the first time in the Game we saw them… but in the lore? I mean they must have had an long Training before, or not? Long enough that one can say, there are high elf spellbreakers? What do you think?

You can find information about spellbreakers in sites like wowwiki and wowpedia, but here some information about them.

  • They are elite warriors with shield and two-bladed swords.
  • They are masters at spellcraft, which gave them immune to the effects of the most powerful spells.
  • They are the front-line warriors of the blood elves.
  • They can steal your beneficial buff and share it with their allies.

i hope that i helped you

I mean, if its possible to play an high elf spellbreaker?

Hello there!
Basically there are no High elf Spellbreakers by default, and first Spellbreakers were made by Kael’thas, when they already became Blood elves, and later they joined the Horde, while High elves remained with Alliance. At first look the answer is no.

But! That doesn’t deny the possibility to become one. I can think of several ways:

1- Overall your High Elf Character being specialized in Anti-magic and Spellbreaking, similar to that, but not of actual ones.

2- In some way, learnt from Blood elves. How? I can think of Neutral blood elves, like Scryers. Maybe your high elf is a Son of Lothar, and ventured to Shattrath and worked with Sha’tar and Scryers, and in some way, learnt to be a Spellbreaker. Namely working with them as Shattered Sun Offensive.

2.5- From void elves whom were blood elf Spellbreakers not long ago!

3- Another hard and unlikely is learning from the Nightborne, as they also have Spellbreakers, even different from Blood elves. It would be complicated that how they learnt from one, perhaps was before them joining the Horde, like during Legion?

4 & 5- Basically same, but from different sources, your High elf could’ve found a book or codex, either related to the Nightborne and Blood elves, and learnt through it.

6- Since Nightborne were Highborne not long ago and aren’t much different, and also have Spellbreakers, then i strongly assume Highborne also have Spellbreakers, or specializes in the arts of Spellbreaking. And your high elf could’ve learnt from one, maybe? Although this is a bit in headcanon route.

Perhaps you can somehow combine these ways to make one, although some people may misjudge at first, so i would suggest to not put “Spellbreaker” into your profile, so you don’t meet mis-judgement.

Sorry it became too long, and good luck!

You can absolutely roleplay a High Elf Spellbreaker. While it is true the units did not appear until the Blood Elf campaign of WC3, the existence of several nightborne and felborne spellbreaker units might indicate that their tradition could actually date back from the time of the Kaldorei Empire. While it’s not impossible they evolved separately from each other, I think there is enough grounds to say a High Elf could have learned the appropriate techniques.

Now, sadly, the weapon of the Spellbreakers is effectively a Warglaive, so that’s not a usable weapon as a DH is a poor stand-in for such a class. But! There are ways around this. Firstly, the Spellbreakers are rare and dying out, so perhaps your character was forced to learn to fight with a more conventional weapon? Perhaps his training was unorthodox, learned from ancient retrieved tomes or a Sin’dorei/Quel’dorei/Ren’dorei exile who didn’t have access to such equipment?

Lastly - what class in-game best represents the Spellbreaker? Personally, I would say Protection Warrior. You have Spell Reflect and Pummel, both very Spellbreaker-esque abilities as they disrupt magic. You can also make your Charge, Heroic Leap, Thunderclap and other abilities more tied to magic. I.e. You use magic to enhance your movement to super-human speeds, give yourself super-human strength or conjure arcane lightning in an area around you to slow and hinder your enemies. The sky’s the limit!
