A question about resto shamans

I was a resto shaman in cataclysm and I enjoyed it quite much… but that was several expansions earlier.

So my question would be how much it differ from that state? How much it changed since back then?

Several new talents have been added, allowing you to focus on chain heal based healing or sustained group healing.
Most talents are viable and quite versatile.
The spec was first reworked in Warlords with the addition of Cloud burst totem, earth shield has been switched into a talent. I would say a lot changed you might want to read up on a guide before you play but generally similar playstyle

hi Narniss,

I’d say it is largely the same. The buttons we push are slightly different. Earth Shield is an optional talent, rather than our standard tank HoT, but I think the ‘feel’ is similar. We are still the jack of all trades, master of none. There are probably better healer classes in any one situation, but Resto Shaman is still good in all situations. I’d say our talents give us good choices and only a few are redundant, depending on your playstyle. Also our toolkit is still brilliant. We’re still one of the best, if not the best support class in the game.
Our spell animations are pretty sweet too

Didnt play cata but in todays WoW I look at resto shaman as a powerful raid healer who brings a lot of utility and can put out huge healing numbers if the fight allows for stacked healing. It is very strong in the current raid. In dungeons it’s a bit lacking because of not having a tank CD etc. It can do pretty well with experience, but at this point we aren’t among the go to picks for dungeons.
