A question of remote control software

HI,dear GM。I have a question。Can I use remote control software(teamviewer, todesk) to link to my home computer to play WOW? Because I want to remotely link to my home computer in the company to play during the noon break。Will my account be banned for “abusing game mechanics”?

No you may not use cloud gaming or equivalent to play WoW remotely and using such may get you banned, players have been banned for this before.

Edit: 03/01/25 With GForce Now rolled out for Blizzard games you may use this software to “stream play”.

1.B.v.6 FOR INDIVIDUALS BASED IN THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA: As an integral part of its End User License Agreement (EULA), Microsoft agrees to allow Consumers to play, solely for their personal use, Eligible Games on a Streaming Service on any device that they own, as defined in and pursuant to the Commitments entered into by Microsoft and made legally binding by the European Commission in its decision under Article 8(2) of Regulation (EC) 139/2004 in case M.10646 – Microsoft/Activision Blizzard. See https://www.xbox.com/en-US/legal/activision-blizzard-cloud-game-streaming-eu.

You would risk a ban for it. It’s the way people used to control bots and get away with it. Now you can’t.

Can you afford one of those handheld mini-PCs like OneXplayer or GPDWin? You could play on those during noon breaks?

hey Saneko, how about if you want to play wow on phone /tablet if you are in hospital ?

You risk getting banned from any unauthorised remote option. I haven’t seen a case yet of WoW being playable on phone btw.

If you use GForce Now it is allowed through and with that through a tablet, or handheld like SteamDeck. There are potential risks but since you’d use an authorised software (GForce Now) I think the chance is lower to get banned.

Wish you a steady recovery!

but since you using your own method of authentification should it be fine since its you who authentificate it ? or is it more deep matter ?

thank you also anxiety can lead you to severe sickness people dont let anything stress you out !

It’s not about you authenticating it, it’s about the software used to emulate it. Otherwise, we would’ve just used Remote Desktop and equivalent. I’ve added the legal part to my first post as this is quite an old thread for more clarity and also recommended the authorised GForce Now application.
