A question to people buying boosts

I bought Curve (for mount) because my guild got bored of raid and it wasn’t gonna get curve. As for the mythic kills a lot of people will drop that gold now while the mount is 100% instead of potentially spending years getting it at a 1% drop rate.

For me, I saw a AOTC mount for 150k, and figured that’s 1 more Mount towards the next Mount Achievement, and I easily make 150k gold a day when I’m in full power auctioning mode.

And it’s a quarter of the price of a store mount.

So it was a no brainer for me.

And don’t worry about me riding it around. I would not be seen dead on that mount, it’s so ugly.

I buy boost so i get accepted into pug groups ( Heroic Raid )

even if i explain all the tactics and say in whisp i’d happily join voice i get declined, so i usally buy b00st on an alt that could benefit from the gear drop ( mostly calling alts ) & then use that to get in on my main

Thats waste of time 100%, u pay to get into groups that’s why boosting is bad.

Buying mounts nobody cares about it’s okay, but paying to get into stuff u got no xp for is bad

People buy boosts because the community gatekeeps to a massive extent that it makes completing the content legitimately not a challenging task, but a frustrating and unfun task.

I was 2700 M+, 275 ilvl, 11/11 normal, 7/11 heroic killed, and still couldn’t get into any Anduin/Rygelon/Malganis/Jailer heroic lobbies because people value an achievement over anything else that you show them.

So in my mindset a boost is like buying a pass to get into pugs. I bought a Heroic Jailer kill with a spare 110k I had. The service was fast and the guild running the boosts were polite and efficient.

Within 24 hours of that Jailer kill, I have now killed Anduin, and Rygelon legitimately because people just see I have curve and let me into the lobby (It’s so stupid).

Even though I boosted my Jailer kill, I still intend to kill him (and Malganis) legitimately before the current raid tier ends.

Tl;dr I bought a Jailer kill so I can get into lobbies without issue because people see that you are “Ahead of the curve” and let you in without second thought.

I learned jailer, rygeleon & lords as tank, healer & dps

Can’t make it because people dont know how to jump into a hole, so after 60 wipes with no luck i ended up buying a b00st for my 230 mage that i use for callings

Although i do agree not everyone’s case is my own, but i buy one out of frustration even though i know exactly what to do

I don’t buy M+ boosts however I do buy WoW tokens as it’s quicker to earn ££ IRL than the same amount of gold in game.

I have bought a few AOTC before when I have returned to WoW from periods off and want the mount. Or when the raids do not interest me yet I want the mount or an item from a specific boss and don’t wish to waste my time in the pug world.

Yeah. 1 hour of work for me buys me 2 WoW tokens. Why not buy a boost if you can afford it and it saves you hours of hassle in the group finder.

After several groups, with great intentions of levelling and gearing characters for Herald of the Titans achievement, fell apart I resorted to getting a boost for mine. I do not care or feel it’s diminished in any way because I bought it. I had waited over two years with my Herald ready character.

I didn’t even know these boosts existed until a friend complained of similar issues and said he’d found a group that do these boosts. I went and checked them out on discord and signed up for their next run.

It wasn’t even a significant amount of gold and they took us straight in to the boss, asked all the boosted to wear no gear so as there could be no issues with the achievement. We tagged the boss, and dropped dead shortly after while the rest of them fought bravely. BAM we got achie and it was job done.

I feel like as long as you tried your best initially, but things out of your control prevented you, there is no shame in buying a boost for something you’ve spent a lot of time working for.

Additionally there is nothing stopping you trying to accomplish it without a boost in the future if you feel like you need to prove something to yourself.

I would say most people that buy a boost don’t have a proper guild to do the content with so it’s clearly not a boosting problem itself but a community one.

If this is a case then blizz should not let ppl trade items in the end of a dungeon.
Why take a weapon when the rng judge you not worthy for loot at this time?
Why buy BOE from AH when you didn’t earn it?
Why buy mats for flask and food from AH? If you want the extra power you need to farm the mats and have all proffs in your account and make them your self!
All this sound ridiculous? Yes
