[A-RP] Beginner RP bar in Boralus - The Recurring Series

Want to try some casual RP in a relaxed environment? Are you new to roleplaying, and feel stressed about how to do it and what to do?

Come to the Curious Octopus! I’m Zak, I’ll be your bartender, serve you drinks, and listen to your woes.

Low bar roleplaying, with no expectations on creativity, fast typing or quick thinking.

The bar will be open Wednesdays 8pm – 10pm Realm time.

While you’re there, feel free to ask me about basic concepts of roleplaying, or bounce your character concept.

What? Casual, beginner-friendly RP bar

Where? The Curious Octopus, Boralus, in Mariner’s Row (there’s a portal to Boralus from the Mage Tower in Stormwind, feel free to whisper me in-game for directions - Zakariye)

When? Wednesdays 8pm – 10pm

Who? I’m Zak (Zakariye in-game), your bartender. Other members of Lore and Order might also be there to help out.

How? Come to the Curious Octopus, and we take it from there – no scripted events, you set the pace.

Why? The aim is to create a relaxed environment that caters to new/inexperienced/nervous players, who want to try roleplaying. Neurodiverse / shy roleplayers especially welcome.

Disclaimer – there are people on this realm who are (way) more experienced with guiding people into RP, and who do it (way) better than me. I do not claim to know all the ins and outs of WoW RP, but I’d like to do my part in helping new/inexperienced players feel welcome.

The doors are open for everyone! If you are an experienced RPer who want to attend, I kindly ask that you help out in the spirit of the event.

Feel free to whisper me on Zakariye or Briseia in-game at any time. If you catch Lore and Order roleplaying in the Curious Octopus any another time, feel free to join!

Alliance only! If you play horde - feel free to roll an alliance toon an join us :slight_smile: When I find the time, I’ll do a Beginner RP BBQ on Horde

Welcome RP beginners on wednesday! We run the bar 8pm - 10pm Realm time.

Whisper me on Zakariye, I am usually on about 30 mins ahead of event start if you need directions etc.

Friendly, above-board business. The barkeep is experienced at handling rowdy, drunken dwarves.

Just don’t ask for any milkshakes, I think their blender is possessed by a demon.

Hello i am Havvah (charecter name Josè) , the apprentice bartender. I will be helping out at the bar aswell, or clean up the mess left behind so no rper has to worry about that.

Really love that approach to show new roleplayers the ropes.
I usually whispered obviously new roleplayers and offered them guidance and an open ear for questions etc. But a more roleplay-focused way of bringing folks together looks like a much better way.

You’re doing amazing work for the community. Might hop one day as well into the tavern, although will make my dwarf “forget” his accent for that time being.

New RPers - welcome to the Curious Octopus in Boralus! We’re running a bar (see original post) aimed at making you feel welcome. It is meant to serve as a space to try out RP, and ask for advice.

We’re there every wednesday 8pm - 10pm!

Total RP 3 (TRP3 for short) is a recommended addon to enjoy yourself fully, but if you are unsure of how to set it up, don’t hesitate to ask.
