[A-RP] <Blackmoon Outriders>

“Victory is our’s this night. Elune has given us the power to save ourselves. The Horde burned our forests, thinking to kill our hope! They died for that folly, for our hope resides not in the trees, but in our bonds to each other. We are Kaldorei!”

– High Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind, Leader of the Kaldorei

"These were the words spoken by our High Priestess when she awoken the ancient blessing of Elune’s wrath and the power of the Shadow Warrior. As King Anduin Wrynn refused to send more forces to our aid in assisting to retake our lands after the loss of Teldrassil, we chose to return home to face the savage Orcish Horde and their new warchief who was responsible for the incineration of our last world tree. We ask any abled body of our kin and of those wielding the blessing of our goddess to take arms and assist us on this conquest. A new army has risen, the Army of the Black Moon, and we serve as their Outriders.

Let us show the Horde the true might of the Darnassian empire. We are Kaldorei!"

– Priestess Eliadris Sagebreath, Black Moon Emissary

The Blackmoon Outriders serves as a company sized military unit serving directly under and answers only to the Army of the Black Moon, and consists of well-trained, long and closed ranged men and women with a strategic and tactical leadership. Their primary goal is not only to protect their people’s remaining lands, but also to retake the lands which is truly and rightfully their. They will vanquish anyone serving the Horde who stands in their way.

They do not serve the Alliance directly, but are allied with them and will assist them when and where they can. Yet their own agenda comes first.

OOC Note: The guild will have minor and major events. These consists of internal guild events and training days, larger events in collaboration with other guilds and server-wide campaigns. We are also a part of the Covenant of Teldrassil community.

Brief History:

After the fires of Teldrassil and the High Priestess procure the ritual of Elune’s wrath, and with King Anduin not being able to send any assistance to the Kaldorei’s conquest on retaking the Darnassian lands, the remnants of the Kaldorei had been called to arms to protect the lands that are truly theirs. Some of the Kaldorei followed Tyrande’s wake in pursuing the powers of the Shadow Warrior and joined the Army of the Black Moon.

Priestess Eliadris Sagebreath pledge her full loyalty in the High Priestess new army and formed a cavalry of outriders under her known as the Black Moon Outriders. They seek anyone of the Kaldorei or of those who are blessed by Eline to follow them in the conquest of defending and retaking the lands which is truly theirs.

This is a new era for the Darnassian people.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions

Q: “How do I join?”

A: Whisper an officer or the leader in-game, leave an in-game mail or interact with them in-game.

Q: “Is there a joining procedure?”

A: Yes, there is. When you have established contact with the guild, you will be going through two procedures: (a) Out-of-character information about the background of your character where you will be tested on minor lore knowledge. Knowing all of Kaldorei lore is not a requirement, but we do expect you to read up on it due your time as a member. (b) In-character spar to test your roleplay in basics and your roleplay fighting techniques.

Q: “How does promotions work?”

A: Promotions are based on both in and out-of-character merits, skills, progression and most importantly activity. It is also based on your contribution to and within the guild depending on the rank you aim to get promoted to.

Q: “Is uniforms mandatory?”

A: No, it is not. We do have a specific uniform, but we do appreciate if it fits with the colour scheme of our guild tabard. With this it also give the player freedom to wear something they like without being forced to wear a specific armour set.

Q: “Does one need to have done the Night Warrior ritual?”

No, one does not. Anyone who plays a night elf or worgen character can join. Note: Worgen characters is appreciated to have had or still is living within Darnassian lands, as all worgens who has been cleansed is blessed by Elune.

Q: “You are named the Blackmoon Outriders and not the Black Moon Outriders, why the space between the two words?”

A: Because Blizzard’s policy states that the word; black is an offensive word which does not allow any guilds to use that word on its own.

Q: “What is this Covenant of Teldrassil community and how can one get involved?”

A: It is a community that a player named: Andóríl has started with a few others in a quest to revive the night elf roleplaying community. It is still a work in progress and we as a guild support it.

Good to see more new Night Elf themed guilds! I do have a few questions though…

From the Blizzard Story and Lore Developer Livestream, we know the following:

"At the warfront all the NPCs that are night elves actually have the darkened eyes. So theres definitely a sense that in proximity, fighting on behalf of the dark element of elune, under the darkened moon, thats what happens. (…) “But I think in the story sense, that any night elf that is fighting on behalf of Elune in that confrontation, their eyes would be darkening”

Considering your guild seeks to portray a military unit serving directly under the Army of the Black Moon, will you force your members to use the black eyes IC?

Note: Worgen characters is appreciated to have had or still is living within Darnassian lands, as all worgens who has been cleansed is blessed by Elune.

It is a little unclear to me what you mean by this. Do you mean that all Worgen who currently live or have lived in kaldorei lands have been blessed by Elune?

Then, this also caught my interest:

We are also a part of the Covenant of Teldrassil community.

Curious, what is this Covenant of Teldrassil community and how can one get involved?

With all that said, I wish you the best of luck with your guild! I’ll add you to the Night Elf RP thread and look forward to seeing you guys about!

No we will not force our members to use the eclipsed eyes if they don’t seem it fitting to their character. This way “regular” kaldorei is also welcome.

According to Wowpedia, worgens are also a part of the Army of the Blackmoon. As it is stated on the website:

“The Army of the Black Moon is the group of night elven and worgen soldiers supporting Tyrande Whisperwind’s campaign to wrest night elf territories from the Horde. (…)”

And as worgen “cured” by the kaldorei by drinking from the three wells, that is also seen in the worgen starting quest zone is a (sort of) blessing of Elune, which is why we accept them as well. Read this:

“(…) The night elves later offered a more effective cure: Drinking from the wells of Tal’doren would allow them to transform back into their humans selves at will.”

It is a community that a player named: Andóríl has started with a few others in a quest to revive the night elf roleplaying community. It is still a work in progress and we as a guild support it.

Thank you! We will see you on the battlefield, filthy savage!

The reason I ask is because the lore that we have gotten from the Story and Lore Developer Livestream implies that every Night Elf who fights on behalf of Elune under the darkened moon receives the darkened eyes. If one didn’t get the black eyes while fighting under the darkened moon, that’d mean they don’t fight on behalf of Elune’s dark elements.

That said, I wish you good luck with your guild still!

Oh, i am a good orc though, just defending lands when needed…

Yet, perhaps we shall do! An honorable battle it shall be

That I am aware of and thank you stating it! Yet we do not want to force our members to use the eclipsed eyes if they do not feel it would fit their character. They can still be in the guild by serving under the emissary.

Thank you, I hope our guilds will meet some day.

Hah! You stole the lands that rightfully belong to us * Raises fist *

Och but you weren’t in barrens though! And we settled there… Some of the warsong did it…

But well, there is a time for redemption! Lok’tar!

Jumping off of what Mythundis had mentioned about blackened eyes:

It’s certainly not a negative that you’re not forcing your guildies to use dark eyes but that doesn’t address the lore issue that was raised. If you’re main theme is combating the Horde in the aftermath of the War of Thorns, how could having a sentinel without dark eyes be explained if they had been involved in and are still a part of that conflict?

It’s understandable that a sentinel could have only just found themselves taking part in the battle for whatever reason but I think Blizzard have been clear on the eyes of all Kaldorei being changed if they take part, it didn’t take long for the changes to occur either from what we’ve seen in game.

Whilst there’s maintaining freedom of customisation for your guildies, there’s also true to the material that we’ve been given, if a member of yours decides to go against that it could effect your guild’s image.

Best of luck.

Hmm… That make me reconsider having “regular” kaldorei within the guild. But you really think that it drasticly effect the guild’s image?

Not drastically, but to have Kaldorei with silver (or even amber, we don’t know if they change colour for certain) eyes would make it so that your official guild stance was to resist the lore put in place. By allowing it, it is recognised. It would be that which others see.
