[A-RP] Crimson Raven

Nordain, a small and humble township founded in the early years of the Kingdom of Lordaeron. While humble, the town did well in trade and commerce, building a small nobility that served under the ruling classes of the Kingdom at large. The town, and family’s history was quiet until the coming of the scourge, whereby, like most, it was wiped out. Left as nothing more than rubble in the wake of the coming tide of undead. Only the Lord and his daughter lived, living on as the soul survivors of the whole town’s destruction. With the town in a somewhat defensible position, the Argents took up residence in it’s remains, using it as a staging ground for it’s business in the north. Though, as time went on, the town once more fell in to the eerie silence. Now, Lord Nordain seeks to replenish and rebuild his town, hoping to once more return it to it’s former glory in memory of all those that were lost… And that is where this story begins…

The Concept

House Nordain and it’s militia strive to rebuild what it once had before the scourge invasion ripped it away. A thriving settlement in Lordaeron bustling with life and joy, where all had a place to live in peace and tranquillity. Whilst the core purpose of the House is to rebuild and bolster it’s ranks to provide that safe haven once more, it also wishes to stand it’s banner amongst others proudly. House Nordain hopes to aid the Alliance in political, trade and military matters, establishing connections built on trust, attending campaigns, lending both a hand and sword to upcoming matters of the Crown.

What do we do IC?

As a House, we aim to establish ourselves not only in the nobility sector but in the public eye as well. We aim to partake in any future endeavours that help to better the Alliance in some way, shape or form - as well as the House! Wherever we may be of use, we aim to be. If an extra swordarm or coin is needed, we offer to aid other Houses and Orders of the Alliance in any way that we can. Political affairs, financial matters, social gatherings, our banner will be held up high to offer support to those that need it.

Branches

Nobility
Neither militia nor household, those who are of noble birth and blood fall into the Nobility branch. A bannerman of sorts, offering your financial and political assistance when required in a fair trade. You are the wealth of the House and Militia.

Bulwark

The Bulwark is the main fighting force of the militia. A tight knit unit made up of House Nordain’s finest men and women. As part of the Bulwark, you’re in charge of the offence and defence, relying on your fellow comrades and trusting those on the field of battle. You are the fighting arm of the House and the Militia.

Informants

Surveillance. High risk. Secretive. Counter Intelligence. The Informants are the scouts and field rangers of the militia, those able to gather information or ambush the enemy efficiently may find themselves fitting in with this branch. You are the eyes of the House and the Militia.

Clergy

A portable church of the militia and the House it’s self. Those who find themselves in the Clergy branch offer their aid and services to all servicemen and women. The Clergy may lend an ear to troubled minds and souls, mend wounds, sanctify unholy grounds, hold sermons and prayers. You are the mind and wellbeing of the House and the Militia.

Medical

Those interested in the medical world will find themselves to be a valuable asset in this branch. You will be in charge of mending the wounds and broken bones of your peers, whether it be by magical or medicinal means. Those with the passion to protect, preserve and prevent will find a home in the medical branch. You are the heart of the House and the Militia.

Household

Members of the household such as workers, servants and craftsmen, you fall under the Household branch and remain separate from the militia. You are the foundation of the House, and the militia serve to ensure you are kept well and safe!

OOC RULES

Harassment is not tolerated in any way, shape or form. Racism, homophobia, sexism and other forms of harassment are not accepted here and will face immediate action if it does not cease. There is only fun to be had here, and we aim to promote a healthy space for roleplay to grow.

IC actions have IC consequences, and such is to be dealt with IC. Leaking IC into OOC and visa versa is heavily discouraged. Meta-gaming and god-emoting are also discouraged and could result in a warning.

Respect the roleplay styles of those around you. Remain polite and courteous, even if you disagree with a particular style or character. Not everything is everyone’s cup of tea, but we’re all here to create memories, stories and engage our creative minds, so let’s be mindful and graceful.

Death Knights and Demon Hunters are largely not accepted, unless the Lord himself deems them to be an exception to this rule, but general void users, necromancy and evil magics are frowned upon. Warlocks are to inquire IC beforehand to be permitted into the ranks.

I’m actually thinking “Oh god, don’t make up geographical locations that could be of significant importance in lore!”

Sounds like you could’ve just had a uniform.

Sounds great look forward to seing you guys about, looks like a solid concept
Edit: Dw about the criticism in this case anyways, pleeeeenty of people do similar stuff to this, you’ll find no shortage of people/guilds to rp with between the various houses and then ofc generic military groups n other styles of guilds.

Not a fan of made up locations. Still remember those lordlings of isle that and mountain that. Where do you plan on playing your town?

lol what in ten

Wheres the confusion? plenty of people create their own locations, numerous large guilds who get plenty of rp and engage in many collabs with other guilds, hugely active guilds, so it isnt something thats going to be restrictive for these if they also engage? I hope that clears it up abit? lets not derail this persons guild thread however  Sigtryggr/Cassander#2709 DM me on Disc if you need further clarification on anything I meant.

We will use Heartglen, as it is pretty much what Nordain looks like except for a few exceptions

What about the people currently using Hearthglen as a hub? It’s a fairly large location, used by many roleplayers

Pardon me. I know that the departure of The Light Watch Order has made the place a little slower but I am certain there is still quite some activity, or am I misinformed about current residents within said location?

It is still actively being used by quite a few people. I know at least 1 guild uses it as an HQ; Ardent Pursuit

I am quite familiar with the Ardent Pursuit still settling within. Hence I questioned the odd use of the location for this project.

Is this going to be a function of seeing away from the actions of others, or?

Interesting guild, would be curious to see how there will be a different spin on how noble rp is taken here. Hearthglen to my knowledge is frequented by others but the place is big enough to quite handle different groups doing different things. It’s not like one group has a total monopoly over who can go in and out either.
It’s very nice location to use too, able to stand in for another area just as well due to its rather normal looking alliance centric architecture and being away from the big city hubs it might be a good place to have turned into a focal point for new rp.

Could always claim it as annexed territories from “rogue” groups such as Argents in the name of the glorious Turalyon, High Commander of the Alliance, but all jokes aside yeah, if its a busy hub may be difficult portraying that as a specifically house owned territory with a different name to what it already has, that kinda stuff is easier done with smaller less busy spots, especially given there will be argent rp’ers walking around you constantly, engaging in rp there.
Edit: However that being said, you could always claim your township is near to there, and that Hearthglen basically serves as its nearest equivalent to a “capitol”, hence giving you reason to be there on a regular.

I understand it is a used hub by some, but that should not really make a monopoly of the place? The times I have been there of recent, the place has been vacant, but if there is others there using the place while we are there, then we will try to work something out in the benefit of all. Seeing how Heartglen and Nordain are two diffrent places IC, that is the place best serving of the house as it comes to looks. Perhaps I will be looking into see the use of somewhere else if the place gets crowded. Time will tell, and we are not traveling there just yet.

Yes, we will try to make a somewhat diffrent spin to it, but we will see how it goes with Hearthglen.

Pretty sure no one uses Tyrs Hand and the burnt down hamlet behind it, small quest chain turns it into a zone with non hostile npc’s.

It is supposed to be “phased” away from those using it as Hearthglen.

Tyr’s Hand is as well, being used.

No one has a “monopoly” on it. But it becomes very jarring/weird when a location is used by various/large groups of roleplayers to have another guild be there and say “Actually, this isn’t Heartglen. This is the great land of Sir Whatshisface and located in the Kingdom of McGuffin!”

This is why pretend locations generally doesn’t work. (Unless in a very secluded area/only for a brief event. Or a instanced location)

Understood. So the actions of this project are to not be accounted for by others within Hearthglen unless they are knowingly part of it? Pardon the questions, just curious.
