Legacy of Iron
Having returned to Azeroth, the Dirge are now enroute to the frozen shores of Northrend to acquire a Crystal Bloom, a rare flower made of Mana native only to the Crystalsong Forest to fulfil their promise to the Green Dragon Tereseria of Seradane. However, their uneventful voyage took a sudden turn as they ran across a shipwrecked young Vrykul woman by the name of Silvia Hwyrfel. Having come under attack by the vile Jornmourn, a gang of Vrykul Pirates with her companion Torald staying behind to allow her escape only to end up getting scuttled anyway, she pleaded the Dirge to help her return for him.
Though at first largely aiding her out of simple curiosity and the fact they were already going in the needed direction, their task soon gained gravitas after finding Torald, wounded and on the verge of death upon the iceberg the two had parted warned them that the Pirates were going to strike the Vrykul pairās home - Shadowstone Island! Unable to turn away from plead of the dying the Dirge thus accompanied Silvia further to her home, yet finding it mysteriously abandoned upon arrivalā¦ Realising the trap they had walked into too late to counter the Dirge was thus thrust into violent melee with the crew of Jornmourn amidst the streets of the small Vrykul settlement. With the tide of battle eventually turning to their favour a dark figure, the Shadow-Sage of the Jornmourn Iskfir made his move. Enveloping his remaining combatants in a powerful magical shield to cover their retreat, he promised to return yet with even more men.
It was then that the leader of the village, the Seer Ulfric approached the young Silvia with cryptic instructions to visit the rocky hills flanking the village and take whatever she found to a set of ancient ruins on a nearby island, whereupon she was to find a tool to aid them in the coming struggle. For within her mind, the young Vrykul professed to being able to hear a mysterious voice - like a radiant song, that guided her in moments of great need. Unsure, if intrigued of what to make of the womanās tale, the Dirge nevertheless felt it their bound duty to see this fight through and so accompanied her to a mysterious eons since sealed cavern that had denied trespass to all before. As they pondered their options Silvia stepped forwards, heeding the voice as she walked as if in a trance and with nothing but a small nudge of her hand the blockage came undone, revealing a small chamber with an ancient chest within which they found a lone rusted spear, covered in ancient Vrykul carvings. Traversing next to the site of the ruins to their surprise they discovered them to actually be an ancient Titan Facility! Springing to life upon the approaching of the young Vrykul they made a cautious entry, knowing from experience the myriad of dangers that might reside within.
Yet once inside they did not encounter automatons of the Makers gone haywire, or some sort of a defense system ready to expunge them but the irate ghost of a Vrykul berating their presence. Though at first greatly confused the truth of the situation was made clear to them as the ghost first recounted how the spear came to be as a gift from the Keepers to one of their Stoneforged many millenia ago, becoming a hereditary heirloom as their ranks fell to the Curse of Flesh. Yet that selfsame curse and the silence of their Keepers would drive the Vrykul to ever darker thoughts until the day their King, Ymiron declared their old allegiances null and void, upon which the weaponās power in turn was cast aside and forgotten for ages - a power they were now trying to reclaim. Challenging the Dirge and Silvia to combat to prove their worthiness the ghost eventually fell back defeated and allowing them to press on. Delving deeper into the facility they eventually came upon the chamber of the weaponās sealed power, a spark of the Keeper Odyn himself. But before they could claim the power they suddenly found themselves thrown into deadly melee with the servants of the Titans, full of bottled up ire and vengeance against the unruly children of the Makers that had once already cast them aside so. After a length of epic melee the guardian fell down in defeat, allowing the spearās power to return and be wielded by the Vrykul of Shadowstone once more! And just in time, for the vile Jornmourn had returned and were ready to unleash themselves upon the villagers at any moment. Rushing back home they came face to face with the wretched and their leader and yet what looked like itād develop into a great fight was suddenly ended as Silvia, with the weapon the Keeperās Vigil in hand charged and hurled a mighty beam of light against the Shadow-Sage, turning him and his cronies to stone in an instant!
With the safety of the village ensured, both the Dirge and Silvia parted ways, their path led further on towards the interior while her eyes were to her birthplace of Vrykullar and to learn more of her peopleās once shunned legacy.
