[A-RP] Eastvale - A township, a militia, a community

" Since humans first set foot in Elwynn, the forest has flourished under our stewardship. The vibrant lush woodland is home to many a settlement, many a farmstead, and many a bastion of humanity’s dominance of the area. Like much of the world - however - it wasn’t always as innocent. The First War ravaged the landscape, saw great settlements razed, and saw humanity flee the area or face annihilation; humanity has never truly recovered. The Crown’s aware of this, the citizenry are aware of this, and I am aware of this. "

Eastvale is a roleplay initiative started in an effort to spread roleplay toward the morally acceptable areas of Elwynn Forest, rather than having it confined strictly to the city and Duskwood. Our goal is to provide meaningful roleplay of a good quality that offers something you might not find in the city, or any other major roleplay hub.

What are you?
Eastvale - if you have to put it into a genre - is akin to a township guild with additional military and nobility elements. We strive to create an environment for all types of characters from your humble craftsman to your heroic knights with events tailor-made to the professions/skillset of those present. However… I think it’s best I address the elephant in the room:

Are you a House Guild? :
House guilds are - amongst most of the population - somewhat of a taboo topic on Argent Dawn, a type of guild that often makes most people groan and pinch their nose in disgust… I’m glad to tell you that Eastvale is not a traditional house guild. Whilst the OOC guild is led by a noble, her duties can be easily compared to the Queen of England or the Emperor of Japan: She is a figurehead to rally around, she can issue some commands to the soldiers stationed in Eastvale but should a high-ranking officer or direct representative of the Crown come about, she is outranked and her commands are void. It is important to remember that - whilst she does hold land - the land is not in her direct ownership, ultimately the Crown owns all the land and she is simply ‘keeping an eye on it’ and conducting the ‘day-to-day’ business. The soldiers within the guild that are stationed within Elwynn are not her own private army, but simply soldiers stationed in Elwynn to act as a territorial unit or a border-force.

Most importantly: the noble character in this guild can not go around declaring war on other guilds, she cannot make decisions that only the ruling monarch would be able to make, and she cannot pass major legislation and laws. Her rolesis more akin to a mayor than some sort of High-Overlord.

" Elwynn Forest was captured by the Horde during their bloody campaign to Stormwind in the First War. The resources culled from the bountiful woods helped fuel the Horde’s war machine. Much of the forests were razed as the orcs marched across Elwynn. " -courtesy of WoWpedia.

What do you do?
Due to the vague overarching structure and goal of the guild, different strata have different goals. However, the mission-statement of the noblewoman leading the guild is to return Elwynn to former glory and to remember that and those we lost during the First War. Securing the area’s safety through combating local woodland pests such as Murlocs and Gnolls, boosting the region’s economy by encouraging workers and crafts-folk to settle, holding memorial services, and providing open server events to the wider public such as marketplaces - a means for our craftsmen to sell their wares. We intend to provide events and social-rp that will get all characters involved, even events that non-combatants can join in on.

" Orders for lumber are constantly streaming in from various buyers and the lumberjacks work against strict deadlines. Because of its location in more hostile wilderness, wild animals are proving to be troublesome. Wolves and bears in the area have become a menace, chasing off workers and threatening to cause delays in delivery deadlines. " -courtesy of WoWpedia.

Additional Information
We are currently looking for Human and Worgen characters that would fit nicely in any part of our community, other races will be considered if an appropriate reason is given.

I am more than happy to answer any and all questions or address any concerns you might have below, although please check out our Argent Archives page beforehand. There you will find an F.A.Q section as well as additional information regarding the guild and our ruleset.

I like it. It brings the Eastern Kingdoms RP away from Stormwind and has a bit of everything on offer, from nobility to militia to workers.

Instead of devoting a lot of your post to explaining why your military is necessary and justifying the necessity of it without making a powergrab, it might kill two birds with one stone to simply outsource.

I’d love to perhaps discuss having Footman move down and station in Eastvale while not deployed on the front. Not only would it mean we have the two major Stormwind Army guilds stationed at opposite ends of Elwynn protecting the borders, but it would also contribute to the feeling of community in Eastvale (rather than a single guild monopoly) and generate lots of roleplay for all involved. It would kill two birds with one stone for you, as you’d have another guild in the area to bounce off and help populate what is otherwise a very empty corner of the home front, and would entirely remove the necessity to justify your every authoritative move.

Indeed it is! Recently I believe there’s more life coming to Northshire aswell after I believe a guild set up shop there, and with others in Westbrook… who knows, maybe one day the whole of Elwynn will become inhabitable!

It’s all going to plan! First we surround them, and then we converge on Goldshire in one great pincer attack!

I really like this idea and would like to interact some day on my Alliance characters.
Eastvale is a really beautiful and special zone, with certain interactable elements.
The stables can be good for getting a mount IC, Stone Cairn lake’s memorial for some spiritual and pilgrimage alike stuff, and other stuff.
The nearby farms for farmer RP, too!

Keep it up friend, love your initiative and wish you best of luck, wholeheartedly.

Oh and also, i suggest to get in contact with the Crown Confederation project, there can be good collaborations between these, as they are related!

Edit: crown confed, not to advertise, just to inform for collaboration:

Thank you for your kind words. Whilst we’ve had little interest in actually joining the guild as of yet, the amount of positive feedback from the community has been delightful and has really inspired me to go forth. I look forward to hear from you in the future!

The more good RP in the forest, the better. I will have to drop Kaytlinne by sometime and check out the home she’s never returned to in-game, yet :stuck_out_tongue:
