“Patching the wounded is dirty work at times. Best perform it correctly the first time.”
– Dr. Croftborough

The Kings Royal Infirmary (also known as: the Royal Infirmary or the King’s Infirmary) is an establishment for treatment of the ill; physically as well as mentally. While it primarily operates within the capital of the Alliance, they are also deployed with the kingdom’s military on long-term deployments to ensure that the men and women in arms receives the best of treatments, reading themselves for the battlefield.

It houses specialised physicians under its administration ruled by Doctor Emmet Croftborough; a war veteran of the Third and Fourth War. He was offered the position to administrate the Royal Infirmary as the armistice between the Horde and the Alliance was signed.

Located in the Stormwind City Outskirts citizens of the Alliance may find aid to their illnesses; grand as well as poor. Unnecessary enhancements of the body, such as beauty surgery, is the only surgery the Royal Infirmary will not perform.

Events and Campaigns

The guild generally do not host events, but instead is publicly active in the roleplay scene. The few events we do host are lectures with focus on character progress and promotion, and meetings. Besides such we do join other guilds in events and campaigns where our guild’s purpose can be utilised for a better roleplay emersion.

Lectures

Lectures have focus on promoting students to interns, and interns to physicians respectfully. The basic lectures have audience focus on the students, whereas the advanced lectures have audience focus on the physicians. All interns has to pass an IC exam to be promoted to their respective field.

Examinations

Students have to answer correct on the majority of a questionnaire, where interns have to answer correct on the majority of a questionnaire and proof merit of practice. The physicians have to provide proof of skill to gain their specialised positions.

Campaigns

On campaigns the guild will focus on non-combatant and combatant roleplay with heavy focus on medical emersion. However to not hold our members away from the action, despite having members who functions non-combat and combat medical role player. This does of course not mean that non-combatants members are not allowed to join in on the action, as long as keep to their IC position’s roles. For this we accept alt characters (see: Questions and Answers).

Questions and Answers

How do you use the Outskirts as your base of operation?

We will respect the building for being used by other guilds as their base of operation when in Stormwind City, however we will tilt slightly towards a head-canon direction by stating that the actual building is an infirmary and office.

Will the guild function as a ruling group over other medical guilds, or guilds who houses medical staff?

No, the guild’s purpose OOC is to create content for the role players. We will not force other medical characters to follow our IC policies. However, we do aim to spread the idea of our IC policies to those who does roleplay medical characters, or guilds who utilised medical as a form of their roleplay.

How does BMT work?

The BMT can only function with the collaboration of a military guild (guard, infantry, etc.) which we aim to collaborate with. The way it will work is to sent our interns to join one of these guild’s training events, where they will deem them ready or not IC.

What will be the function of the guild during campaigns?

The guild will join RP campaigns to serve as the guild’s purpose; medical. Here the physicians can engage in combat with the other military RP guilds, and the non-combatant remain within the camps to provide a more immersive medical treatment of the players’ characters.

What is the guild’s policy on alts?

One alt is acceptable. This is primarily due to campaigns attending where the non-combatant is at a standstill during event. Here they are free to have an as an alt as either a non-combatant or combatant, so they can get a taste of the action as well. However two non-combatants is possible as well, but we see no logical reason to such.

Rules on uniforms?

There are no rules on uniforms. We let the player decide what they think fits their character, however we do advise our members to not wear a fully plated and glowing bunker of an armour.

I’ve got a surgeon and a nurse, so I’ll ponder a little bit to see if your guild suits them. Good luck, otherwise!
