[A-RP] Stormbreak Company - This Must Be The Place

It’s the remix.

The Broad Strokes

Breaking out the expensive English for a moment, Stormbreak is meant to function as a microcosm of the Alliance as a whole in the context of a military roleplay experience, where the focus is very much on the individual character and what they go through. Further detailing that military experience puts the guild more in the region of a special forces detachment. Your grandpappy’s finest 7th Legion in fact

Any prospective roleplayer interested in joining us can look forward to having more individual impact on the roleplay as necessitated by the very genre we delve into. For example, having an Evoker present in a squad would lead to a very different turn of events. We encourage everyone to dive headfirst into their characters, grand or simple, and bring out the best they have both in the moment-to-moment action and the larger picture.

There is also an emphasis on the cultural and racial identities of the groups that make up the Alliance. This means that alongside what you might usually expect (or not) from military roleplay, this will be enhanced by cultural and religious practices that might pertain more closely to your character concept as unique as it might be to the race in question.

The Style Points

Ah, the uniforms:

  • Arathi and Darkshore Warfront is available to all as a baseline option. Minor customization permitted.
  • Heritage sets are also an acceptable alternative. Minor customization permitted.
  • Characters such as Storm Riders, Tidesages and so forth have an established identity in the lore and so have access to their own unique uniforms.
  • Unique cases where a character falls outside the ‘norm’ (Wardens, Demon Hunters, Dracthyr, etc.) will be taken on a case-by-case basis.

Certain tabards are fine however they are not part of uniform policy, and the guild tabard can be considered non-canon.

The Rules

  1. Be responsible for your own experience. Do not have the expectation that roleplay will be created for you.
  2. NO ERP ever! You will get kicked. (This applies to your alts as well).
  3. Keep your personal grudges out of this guild. (If something’s really serious contact an officer about it).
  4. No OOC in spatial channels. Consider /s /e and /y sacred, and use whispers and party chat for your OOC interactions. (This server has enough OOC spam as is, without us contributing…)
  5. No funny RP people. Just use common sense, abide by the lore and ask for help if you need it.
  6. IC = IC, OOC = OOC. Never take one into the other. Remember this is all in good fun

Excuse me, this looks awfully copy/pasted and plagiarized from our guild recruitment post.

And so falls Dalaran and her defenders. Time passes. It could be days, it could be weeks, who knows. For those of you who are still conscious within your webbed prisons it certainly feels like it could be that long. There is no way of telling how time is passing, certainly not in those webs, and not this far underground. Unbeknownst to any of the company who were dragged to the depths of hell, a liaison of the Seventh Legion in the surface city of Dornogal pours over a list of missing personnel that might as well be a mile long - of which Stormbreak Company is stated to be M.I.A

We’ve arrived in Khaz Algar! Great to be here - in the bowels of spidery hell itself.

Millions will perish until morale improves.

Whoop! Whoop! It has been amazing getting to experience an expansion launch through the lenses of one of my characters and it wouldn’t be possible without the organizational efforts of Stormbreak Company.

They took the time, and the effort, to host guests alongside their guild in their events and its been a blast getting to know people, both in and out of character, because of their hospitality.

Furthermore, I can say, with absolutely certainty, do not let the lore of the Seventh Legion intimidate you from being recruited. Yes, there is structure and a uniform expected of recruits, but you’re not joining an ARMA discord or a reenactment community where there is hyper-focus on “semi-realism”. You’re joining a community who care about character development and comradery first and foremost, who enjoy having a life and having fun, in and out of character.

I recommend them and I hope to see them succeed!

He flexes his fingers. He flexes his feet. Gradually his eyes open only to be momentarily shut again in seeking refuge from the blinding rays of what he for a moment thinks is sunlight coming in through the windows. Could any of this be real he has to wonder - part of his mind was just waiting for the moment the illusion would break down and his nerubian captors would come pouring in - but… it is stillness. A moment of domestic peace. A sturdy roof over his head and a decent bed underneath him. He hadn’t dared hope he would ever see these things again. All that transpired down there in the bowels of the earth. Not just the mental and physical torture he had personally suffered but having to watch everyone else be tossed around like leaves in the wind, both in spirit and in flesh and blood, like they were withering away before his very eyes. At the end every step became painful. Every single twitch of his muscles came part and parcel with a pang of pain.

The first thing he attends to is shaving. To anyone he might look like he is on auto-pilot doing this but a life in the army will do that to you. It has been decades since he was drilled on the importance of looking presentable - doubly so as a commissioned officer. He guides the razor along his cheeks to neatly line his facial hair and be rid of any unsightly stubble. Then it is breakfast time. He leaves his room and sits down on his own at a table in the corner of the inn where a room had been granted. A hearty breakfast of meat, cheese and cereals is consumed at a leisurely pace. He is too disciplined and, frankly, too old to wolf it all down in a hungry frenzy. He looks around at all these newfound Arathi people and sees peace. Beset on all sides they might be, with problems inside and out, but… there are people here. Tailors. Basket weavers. Cooks. All just going about their lives. He lets himself smile.

The warmth of the sun, when was the last time she had felt it? It had been so long since the fall of the city of mages, she was beginning to forget what natural sunlight looked like. Naturally she was free to leave any time she chose, there were portals to Dornogal freely available to her, yet she decided not to, for the work was not finished, it never was.

We;re still kicking around in Hallowfall! Events occuring every other day, so if you want to join in, come on down!
