[A-RP] Stormwake Allegiance - A Realm at War

Ademar Dryden for Lord Admiral!

Who wants one of the most powerful sorceresses on Azeroth as royalty anyway.
Maybe I will join you lot myself. But a question if I may, will your Guardsmen wear the set that is given through the quests since it classes as a Militia/Guardsmans Uniform? With the Kettle helmet and all? Or would you all try and get the Tideguard Set from the dungeons?

Just to ask.
I'm so stoked for this concept. Super excited for things to kick off in BfA and have invested myself already. This should be good!

If you're sitting on the fence about getting involved, you should -- specifically for House Dryden, the best faction!
This sounds very nice! I love how Battle For Azeroth basically takes the tired old 'all human feudal/noble RP is a terrible GoT ripoff' meme, and shatters it into a thousand pieces by making politcal/noble RP feature heavily in the Kul Tiras storyline.

Best of luck!
Can't wait for the expansion to hit so we can all start throwing those wooden swords at each other!
Seems like a very interesting concept and can't wait to get my hands wet with all that is to come.

Some uniforms have been decided on among the individual subfactions, but nothing is really set in stone until the expansion is out and we can see what's available and what isn't.

I don't imagine everyone will be wearing the heavy plate set. I definitely see a use for the guardsman uniform you mentioned for men-at-arms and other soldiers who don't necessarily wish to look opulent or knightly.
All you want to do is hug these people, really...
Hark! That watery tart has slung her tendrils all across Kul Tiras, tightening her suffocating grip on the haughty folk of the Isles! She's a cruel mistress, with cruel desires and horrible ambitions!

Here's to Stormwake! Can't wait.
cant wait to see you guys in action!!
Having read the Google doc, I have to say that it's very much a well thought-out guild. Noble RP can be bothersome most of the time, but I see promise in your concept for sure, best of luck!
What I'd like to see on here, response wise, is what people are aiming for in terms of this group. Yes, it looks interesting. But why is that? For you folks. What is it you're looking for -- or that intrigues you particularly about it. Other than 'Ooh, Noble Rp!'

I personally prefer the Underdog types to Nobility, but we all have our own preference.
Genuinely curious to hear your answers if you humour my curiousity.
Having talked to these guys plenty over the last few days, I can really vouch for them being sound fellows.

For a lot of us I think the appeal that comes with the Kul Tiran setting, and consequently the framework for our guild, is that it caters to a large demographic of RP'ers who are fans of the Middle Ages and the fiction that historical era has inspired, which haven't necessarily been featured as prominently in WoW's lore as we'd like - until now.

As for what our motives are, they aren't intrinsically tied to a specific desire to RP high and mighty noblemen. The reason why they take centre stage with us is because they were the driving force behind major political events in history, making that social class an ideal vehicle to explore the Kul Tiran narrative from.

It may also be relevant to note that not everyone in the guild is going to RP a lord or knight. Part of our mission is to simulate a feudal setting, which allows people to portray a large variety of characters from different castes of society. The interaction between those groups alone, I think, is interesting to explore on either side of the fence.
Will you at some point accept main-landers? Also, what is the view on the belief in The Light, since as I understand Kul Tiras has its own religions?

Once Kul Tiras officially enters the Grand Alliance in our narrative timeline, the Allegiance will open its channels of communication to the wider world, which includes the potential for mainlanders joining its banners. Kul Tiran xenophobia, however, will likely have a significant role to play in such future interactions.

The Tidemother is the primary deity of Kul Tiras, and she is especially revered by the people of Stormsong Valley. As such, the Light is not going to be looked favourably upon within our community. Like as not, it will be considered a fringe religion, which is not to say it's reviled on the same level as heretical faiths like the worship of the Old Gods.

To make a historical comparison, one might liken it to the limited and often repressed presence of Christianity in an isolated island nation like Japan during the Edo period, which was overwhelmingly Shinto (a variety of Buddhism). That's my take on it, at least.
Just joined up! Really looking forward to seeing this work out!
House Fawcett all the way btw.
giving this baby a firm bumping

To return to the topic of faith in Kul Tiras, now that I've been able to play in two of the zones myself; I am hearing a lot of references to The Light. "Thank the Light", "By the Light" and "Light bless you" are sentences several NPCs and questgivers have used thus far. And not once have I heard a reference to the Tidemother, so is it perhaps safe to say that The Light has a bigger foothold upon Kul Tiras than we previously though?
