[A-RP] Stormwind Royal Library

Welcome to the Stormwind Royal Library - the King’s own collection of tomes, artifacts and manuscripts documenting the history of the city, the world, the Royal Family, the nation, and humankind as a whole. We seek to discover and aquire knowledge, study it, make sure it’s properly documented - and put it in the right place on the correct shelf.

We will also spend one night per week in the Northshire Abbey library wing, working to index and document everything stored there as part of the King’s collection.

Furthermore, we have a responsibility to help discover and ensure the continued existence of ancient and forgotten collections across the world - in light of the Dalaran tragedy, this has become a higher priority than ever. Our long-term ambition is for the Royal Library to reach a level of content that can somewhat replace what was lost.

Students and scholars alike are welcome to join, either as members of staff, of for any inquiries regarding the library’s services. We currently have four roles available for staff openings:

LIBRARIANS help conduct research for business or academic purposes, and know how to access the library’s resources.

CURATORS works in gathering and appraising new items for the library’s collections.

ARCHIVISTS assesses, collects, organises and preserves information, and keeps record of where it is being kept.

SCRIBES creates and copies new and existing documents for the library.

Whatever your need, chief librarian Madelyn Rose Barrin or any available staff will do our utmost to ensure your requests are met. Welcome to the library!

OOC information:
I’ve been trying to find RP within this niche for a while, and it seems all similar ideas and guilds have died down or the relevant players have left the game. I’ve therefore taken up the mantle to try and create an arena where people can fulfill RP related this particular setting. We will be hiring staff through IC interviews - contact me ingame via whisper, mailbox or walk-up RP, and we will arrange for it at the earliest convenience.

About me:
I’m an experienced veteran roleplayer, from way back in vanilla WoW twenty years ago (some of you may remember me as Barricade from The High Guard). After a long leave of absence, I’ve finally found the motivation and drive to run RP again, picking up an old character and dusting her off with a new position in the world. I’m happy to share my knowledge and experience with anyone, novice and veteran alike, and hope to see many of you drop by the library for a chat.

I can heartily vouch for the dedication and resourcefulness Miss Barrin applies to her work. Any human willing to traverse the Plaguelands through to Tranquillien for the sake of a single tome has either a death wish of grandiose proportions, or fearless ambition. I have come to learn that in the case of Miss Barrin, it is the latter.

A note on the library door.
Miss Barrin is currently posted in Northshire Abbey - she will return tomorrow. Urgent inquiries can be directed to her in person - Marshall McBride will be aware of her whereabouts.

Another Monday, another Northshire Abbey evening! Come say hi!

Recruitment is going well, our numbers are slowly growing, and we’re making connections across other agencies and organisations. Anyone wanting to add some scholarly background to their campaigns, or want to be part of a large research project, don’t hesitate to contact us!

Chief Librarian Madelyn Barrin (Piranesi ingame) or my assistant Alexandra Gold (Irtemia ingame) stand ready to accept any contact or proposition, preferrably IC, though feel free to contact us here or ingame OOC if you want to set something up.
