With my brothers as my witness, I take upon the Bloodied Oath. I swear to pursue and purge the Scourge and its sympathizers. No matter where they hide, they will find no rest, no purchase under my vigilant gaze. May their blood spill in crimson rivers and their bones turn into ash. I swear to act in accordance to the chivalry of our brotherhood, striving for martial perfection, the greatest of glory and the eradication of weakness. Death spare me until the fulfilment of my duty, for a knight’s vow is sacred and everlasting.
The Chivalric Order of the Bloodied Oath is a congregation of Alliance leaning Death Knights sworn to a purpose they deem greater. Not content with the consignment of the Ebon Blade to Icecrown, they venture forth in the world to fulfill their duties.
OOC information
United at first by their wish to see the Scourge (whose definition varies from Knight to Knight…) eradicated. Each Knight is eventually expected to take an oath of his own before the Brotherhood. The past months, the adventures have been focused on getting an initial band together in an endeavour against the eternal enemy of The Scourge, taking the form of a San’layn Prince. Slowly but surely this track will end in the in-character formation of the order, which will be the culminating point of our current campaign.
While not yet aligned with the Alliance, some events and contacts have been made to work towards this in the future. The Order aims to emulate what an Alliance aligned Death Knight order might look like. Brutality, reckless abandon, revenge, and ruthless efficiency are all traits that we love about the Death Knights. We also aim to explore more knightly (yet twisted) traits like sense of duty, martial honor, and a search for glory, might and purpose. This, however, does not mean we aim for the King’s Peace. Rather the opposite. Only in war might one earn glory, and display proper dedication to the good cause.
The guilds DM’d events mostly operate thanks to Dicemaster, an addon that allows a system to be played which is close to DnD. Character sheets can be customized with statistics, spells and gear. And of course, the events will help you progress your panoply. A tutorial and codex of spells is available on our Discord, and help will be provided to accustom members to the usage of it. We also aim to fight for or against other guilds we encounter, our sights mostly focused on the Northern expanse of the Eastern Kingdom for now. Already the order has clashed with some wanton guilds and groups around Uther Tomb, which might lead to future interactions
Recruitment
Aiming to be an order of traditional chivalry, the guild only recruits Humans and Dwarf Death Knights (Kul Tiran and Dark Iron included) exclusively for now, akin to the Silver Hand of old: all three clans of dwarves and seven kingdom of men welcome. Needless to say, Forsaken or light forbid it: Horde identifying Death Knights will be met with rebuke. Interested Knights will see their valor and resolve tested, and eventually given the opportunity to swear the Bloodied Oath before their brothers.
To begin with, we’ll mostly focus on characters that are already afflicted with the curse of being a Death Knight. Depending on IC developments, we will perhaps open the possibility for a living Knight to take the oath, and prove their valor to earn their ascension, into service to the cause they’ve pledged themselves to. Until their oath is fulfilled, naturally…
About the PCU, many in the guild were or are part of the PCU and we interact with them whenever appropriate, and we have no interest in nourishing anti-PCU drama. If this is still looking like something you’d enjoy, do feel free to contact me ingame with a whisper or an ingame mail and i’ll catch back with you.
