Thats the one! I always forget what it’s called
For sure, the intention is definitely to cover the “Kingdom of Stormwind” rather than just the city. We have some roleplayers in Duskwood involved, and it’d be great to have others too.
I haven’t even talked about Loyalist vs. Rebels… why are there 10 posts assuming I’m submeaning that.
Also I love SW as it is right now without more military RPers. Otherwise I would obviously applaud this initiative. Isn’t that obvious? I love the freedom and all the crazy people.
Have you taken into account that maybe some of the existing military RP guilds will buy into this initiative rather than spawn new ones? So that there actually won’t be any more military RPers than there were previously?
World of WARcraft. Dude. WAR. SW is a military state. You want a city of no one with nothing in it that just so happened to run with that stupid idea then just RP in Gilneas.
Also yeah this doesn’t happen. Sensationalists that aspire to professional victimization are shady friendo.
But all those crazy people don’t fit in with what Stormwind really is? And besides, they won’t all suddenly despawn.
Hey, I’m cool with everything when they won’t disrupt guild/group rp or try others what they can do or not. So yeah, just do what you want to do.
It’s a d-move from me saying “I love freedom” while criticizing this project.
So yeah good luck and lots of fun.
the city must be purged
With the recent RP-PvP campaign finished, I’m looking to kick things off with this very shortly. Just to highlight, I’m still looking to fill out some seats for this:
I also intend to start the events which will kick off the narrative in the next couple of weeks, with a larger public event tentatively scheduled for the 19th of July. More details / an event thread to come soon.
At the risk of sounding a bit Orwellian, exclusion and an interconnected means of maintaining standards is not necessarily a bad thing. Let’s face facts, Stormwind is a cauldron of crappy roleplay right now and has no uniform standards, resulting in an experience that literally varies district by district.
Yes, roleplay with others is entirely voluntary, but that doesn’t mean thats exclusive to solo efforts or one-on-one experiences. Guilds and individuals can and should communicate with one another to maintain adherence to the source material and an acceptable level of headcanon. Infrastructure is the cornerstone of a long-lasting community and it is something that is drastically needed to prevent further deterioration, regardless of any misplaced fears of a monopoly because, frankly, any attempts in the past to seize power have always gone the same way; forum outrage, OOC spitting matches and an eventual death by fizzle. Hell, that’s even less of a threat now considering how many channels of communication there are in game and out.
When i joined AD in the WOTLK pre-patch, I was bad (Well, worse than now anyway) and I got what amounted to a blanket ignore. And thats okay. Because I was crap.
This sounds like an excellent opportunity for people and guilds to create the Stormwind narrative they want, not the garage sale theyre forced to endure now. I say go for it, and good luck
This sounds great so far and i liked the way you handled opposition so far. Trying to reel them in instead of ostracizing (at least form the 100+ posts i read).
I wanted to ask is there any place for civic administrators on the production side of things such as governing the metal/ weapon/ war machines supply and/or the food aspect? Clearly i am an elf and am interested in giving a helping hand as a “harvest witch” (though i am over qualified;) ) .
Secondly i’d like to know how much time invested is expected of the members if any?
I’m gonna be honest with you guys here, I have no idea what any of this means because I’m a complete RP noob, but I’ve had my Alliance alts (I’m a Horde main on a non-rp server and incredibly busy irl) on this RP server for a year but been unable to get into any of it because of a lack of time to commit to a guild. Is this the type of thing that anybody can get involved with, guild or no?
as i understand it, it’s just a bunch of people/guilds that are gonna try to raise the bar a bit re: general quality of stormwind RP.
So, I think you’ll be just fine.
Do you use Taeshalach icly? if no then you are lost!
After having myself involved a little I’d say that I was proven quite wrong with what I posted earlier. It’s a good project, and I’m looking forward to be involved a little more.
It’s necessary too. Stormwind has gotten really boring and quiet the past few weeks. It’s time to change that.
This, dare I say it, gives me a bit of hope
Wanted to give a bump for this awesome initiative.
