“A candle held to shadow still glows."
Location: Duskwood
Hub: ‘The Dusk Chapel’ // Tranquil Gardens Cemetery
Focus: Light & Shadow, religious themes, community building.
Once abandoned, the Dusk Chapel now stirs with life and light once more. Raised amid the graves and ghosts of Duskwood, the Acting Vicar Morvaine has followed the Light’s call back to those shadowed woods and has summoned those in servitude of the Light as well as allies of the Light and the Alliance to stand against their enemies and provide sanctuary for the broken.
The Chapel’s faithful stand as candlebearers in cursed lands, offering sermons to the sorrowful and steel to the monstrous. Bound by duty, not glory, its clergy are called to serve, to shelter, and when needed, to strike.
ABOUT US/OOC:
THE GIST:
The Dusk Chapel is a faith-centered roleplay guild based in Duskwood. We are rebuilding the old chapel stone by stone, physically and spiritually, with the Light as our guide. We aim to be a smaller, tight-knit guild focused on the quality and depth of our storytelling. However, in the dark one can not have too many allies, and so we also aim to cast our net wide when networking with other guilds and individuals both for singular events and for long-term collaborative campaigns.
We focus on each individual within the guild and how we might help every member shine, whether that be in their own character growth or how they might mould the future of the Chapel and its storylines as a main player.
WHAT WE OFFER:
• Faith-driven RP that blends Light and Shadow philosophy• Ongoing narrative of rebuilding, grief, redemption, and duty• Sermons, rituals, monster hunting and investigation
EAT, SLEEP, DRINK, DUSKWOOD!:
Despite only being created relatively recently, the guild has blended into the local Duskwood population seamlessly. As such, we are already invested in several ongoing storylines created by the community that RP there, and are adding our own into the mix as we speak.Keeping this community spirit (both with friends and foes!) alive, even outside of our own scheduled events, will be an ongoing priority of the guild and will also ensure that there is always something to do!
RECRUITMENT INFORMATION:
RECRUITMENT: OPEN!RACES & CLASSES
As a guild we are open to recruit all Alliance races, and even classes that one might not expect to see within a Light-faithful group. All applicants are considered on an individual basis.MATURITY + THEMES
Due to the themes which we intend to explore, all applicants must be 18+ and open to mature, dark and gritty themes.CONTACT
If you are interested in joining or perhaps allying or rivalling the Chapel, please drop an OOC message or an IC in-game mail to Vicar Wyll Morvaine (Wylting), High Inquisitor Dominique Silkweb (Silkweb), or High Duskwarden Tristion Shelly (Tristion) to get the ball rolling!
ROLES AVAILABLE FOR RECRUITMENT:
*High-ranking roles within the Chapel are only given to those willing to moderate and recruit or run events. As the guild is in its founding stages IC at the moment, these roles can be petitioned by those willing to meet the requirements without prior progression.HIGH CHAPLAIN
The leadership role reserved for the head of the Chapel's clergy. A voice of Light and reason within the Chapel, this individual is responsible for spiritual service, leading mass and performing funerary rites for the dead.DUSKWARDENS
The blades beneath command and guidance of High Duskwarden Tristion Shelly. The Chapel's Duskwardens are armoured men and women in service of the Light, a first line of defense against the monstrosities that threaten the Chapel and the Alliance.INQUISITION AGENTS
Sometimes subtlety is the best weapon against enemies that, too, work in shadow. Beneath High Inquisitor Silkweb, the Chapel’s Inquisition agents root out corruption not with fanfare, but with silence. Guided by scripture and suspicion alike, they are watchmen trained to see rot where others see repentance.GENERAL CLERGY
The General Clergy of the Dusk Chapel are the lifeblood of its daily rites and rhythms. They are the preachers, caretakers, scribes - those who have taken up the call of the Light not as warriors, but as voices of comfort, tradition, and guidance. They study the sacred texts, offer prayers for the dead and provide pastoral care to the living.MORTICIAN'S APPRENTICE
A solemn and essential role, the Mortician’s Apprentice is charged with the sacred duty of caring for the dead and the ground they return to. Under the guidance of the Chapel’s Undertaker, the apprentice prepares bodies for burial, tends to headstones and grave plots, and maintains the chapel grounds with quiet reverence.
