As the interest check gained a fair amount of traction, here’s the official post for the upcoming guild; The Thieves Den. A classic take on thievery!
About Us
First and foremost, this guild is - as stated - a classic take on thievery. None of the pointy, knives in every pocket, flashy-armoured would-be assassins that have roamed the lands for so long. We’ll be the lowlifes that lurk around dark alleyways and wander the streets during the twilight hours, seeking our next mark.
The idea is to forge a network of criminals that spans all across Azeroth. The vast majority of our crimes will be premeditated, but of course, there will always be the occasional pickpocket. But, many future things will be planned. Heists, robberies, burglaries, and so much more.
In addition to all this, I have hopes I might create a “working relationship” built on mutual understanding between guilds. Something that would prove beneficial for both parties. Secrecy, after all, is in our nature - so we might even get goods sorted for a reasonable fee.
Rules
As surprising as it may be, even thieves have rules - but by these you must abide so that we can keep this working well.
- Racism/Sexism. Whilst IC there will always be a degree of racism and/or sexism, OOC this simply will not fly. This calls for a warning, or depending on severity, immediate removal. We’re trying to make a good atmosphere without hate-speech.
- IC-OOC Conflict. This is one of the most important rules. If you have qualms with someone IC, you keep it IC - the same goes for OOC. Any problems brought from one side to the other, and you will be warned. If it happens multiple times, you will be removed.
- Be kind to one another. As mentioned, we’re trying to create a good atmosphere - some place people feel comfortable with being, try to help out one another occasionally. Kindness pays off, you may find you earn yourself a favour.
- ERP. This goes without saying, ERP is not acceptable. There won’t be a warning for this, just simple dismissal - the name of our home is not to be soiled by something like this.
- Meta/God Emotes. This is common knowledge at this point, but even now it still isn’t understood by some. Meta emotes and God emotes will not be accepted, and will be ignored accordingly - if you do it anyway, don’t act surprised if you’re ignored.
- If you’re caught IC, you must honour the Codex. This will be explained IC, but for the sake of understanding, some of it will be explained here. If you’re caught, we don’t know you - we have no connection to you. We won’t be kind to rats and tell-tales, and they will be shunned from our bunch of misfits. Do well by the Codex, however, and we’ll do our best to aid you.
Ranks
This section needs only be short and sweet. From highest, to lowest, our ranks are as follows;
- Den Master: Brooke Westgale. The leader of our bunch of misfits.
- Informant: Those who don’t particularly get their hands dirty by pickpocketing. These people act as our people away from home to gather intel and anything useful rumours they stumble upon.
- Shill: The newest addition to our ranks, the people within this rank own a silver tongue - their words flow like silk, and are used to influence and convince.
- Fence: The people who specialise in the buying and selling of “curiously obtained” goods, but also sort out legal trade deals for extra coin.
- Footpad: The bread and butter of our family. The lowlifes that build the majority of our numbers. Simple thieves, beggars, burglars and con-men.
- Affiliate: The people who support the guild, but don’t officially work for us - or someone who is under our protection.
- Consociate: Simply put, an OOC rank.
Uniform
There isn’t a uniform as such, but all we ask is that you keep your sets simple. We don’t run around wearing plate, we don’t carrying massive two-handed blades, and we certainly don’t glow in the dark. Wear a humble set of leather armour, we’re aiming for a realistic look. The tabard isn’t worn IC, and for now, we don’t have an official piece of clothing that ties us together.
If any of this appeals to you, feel free to contact me in-game by either PM'ing me, or send me a letter with some information on your character!
Try to keep your details concise but give enough for me to get a good understanding of your character. This will help me select the best applicants that are suited for the roles.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, and I’ll try to answer as best as I can - thanks for reading!
