[A-RP][Criminal] Bleak Street Blighters

We appreciate it, Wilcox! Feel free to stop by whenever you so please.

Oh, what fun we have had, Guenh!
What initially was meant to be a simple robbery quickly turned into something beyond us, adding fuel to the situation for the Ren’dorei in Stormwind.
Truly, character development for us all. Alfred and parts of his crew has become quite less accepting of the Ren’dorei, and Guenh has had a rise in paranoia.
Thank you for three intense days of absolute fun. Communication has been sound!

Those watching a shop in the heart of the Mage District with signage for Bleak Street Trading Company, would have long since given up keeping track of the customers of all hours that set foot in the door. Of all walks of life and Bleak Street tailors a service to suit all purses.

Business is booming it seems. Whether serving an old gent with his tapping cane perusing old vintages, or dwarves seeking tobacco and arms – neighbouring merchants nod wisely when they see guards leaving the shop, surely having confiscating contraband from those Blighters by their satisfied smiles and aroma of coffee. A harpy’s screech echoes through Stormwind nightly, reminding folk that business is alive and kicking - and at a discount for a certain group of Ren’dorei, sure enough.

Rumours filter through now and again that for all their fine attire these days – that coin is rolling in, from all sides, isn’t it? – one of the Chairmen takes his pound of flesh from challengers in the Shady Lady on a regular basis. His woman is all smiles but beware the innocent face that pulls the rug out from under you.

The good citizens of Stormwind allowed a trio of meek souls to accept donations for the little church in Redridge, terrible shame it is, and perhaps they forgot the way to Redridge after all, as they were seen in the pub later that very afternoon.

Booty Bay speaks of a mixed bunch of trouble wearing yellow bandanas, that spent a few days causing trouble, before departing. A witch, they said, with a chicken that can outstare any man and cause many a fool to lose a bet. Then there was the night when they offered nothing but hard talk and cold smiles, and one of the women was covered from head to toe in gore, with the others bloody besides after – well, they never said what the business was, only left the next day!

A swift recap of what has been going on with the Blighters recently. All rumours are considered most welcoming to be integrated in other’s RP.

We’re still recruiting, but due to recent IC developments, we highly doubt that we will accept our first Void Elf. If you deem our concept interesting and have a character that may suit it, feel free to throw us a holler!

Thank you to anyone who pops by the shop as well - tobacco has suddenly become a daily stock request from a random decision to include it!

If you’re not looking to be recruited, but have a character who is a supplier or a professional, might be worth popping by or dropping one of us a whisper to see if our criminals will take a stake in it. We use the docks, so any salty sailors looking to offload cargo as well.

Rumours circulating around the streets of Stormwind are indeed true. Recently the regular visitors to the Slaughtered Lamb have witnessed a new influx of people tending to the locale, and selling awfully cryptic beverages - both above and below counter. Apparently the menu to the establishment have been seen scattered around various creeks and crooks, not only sporting the list of beverages, but the dreaded scarecrow of the Bleak Street Blighters aswell. Rumours have it that they even trade in firearms and poisons. The latter however are proven tough to verify.

It’s time to man the bar in the Lamb yet again! The Blighters have recently chosen the Lamb to function as an extension of their trading company. If you are on the search of drinks in smaller or larger quantities, the door is always open. While they pose as regular purveyors of beverages, it should be no actual secret within the lower echelons of Stormwind, that firearms can be obtained for a reasonable price.

The Lamb is well-accustomed to hosting strange folk at all hours, and the past weeks have proved no exception to that rule. Depending on the time, potential customers will either find themselves greeted by a charming young woman who runs the company books on the side, plied with all the booze they could wish for, or a harridan who states with clear indifference that the bar is self-service, and they’re more than welcome to choke on peanuts or Aldyn’s Sausages. At other times, regular patrons might do a double take, can that really be "I’m Just A Farmer"Hayes, rolling his sleeves up and pulling pints for the punters?
Then there are the guests - whether escorted to the cellar, or the tavern closed to allow for larger gatherings.

Coin and its promise is always wandering about the place - in suits, from lesser sons of greater Houses, to sailors seeking work. Watched over by a one-eyed Pandaren, whose sole response to many a discussion is, “Bent”.

Business continues - stock in the cellar appears to be routinely checked by the City Watch, who of late have increased the frequency of their surprise calls on the trading company known as Bleak Street. Private investigators are seen now and again, trying to outdo the good work of the guards with their own deep cunning plans to trap a criminal or two. Individual Ren’dorei seeking to curry favour in a city that despises them, have aligned themselves with the law - can it be they wish to create Silvermoon anew out of Stormwind’s back alleys?

From outside the city, rumours continue. An old man returned to Eastvale, but missing his life’s savings. An estate past Northshire burned to the ground with many casualties. The lack of witnesses to these crimes is alarming, but one thing is certain: Crime is on the rise.

OOC: The Blighters are surely juggeling quite the number of balls these days, all while walking a thin line between a harmonious life and getting the attention of the coppers. Need something from the official or unofficial menu of the Blighters? Want to join in on the fun? Do toss us a holler. :cowboy_hat_face:

Hello all, I’m running an event on Monday night and am looking for a couple of folks to assist as criminal NPCs! (I say couple, the more the merrier - lets give them Blighters a taste of their own medicine and probably end up shot by Arthur)

Alternatively if you have criminals who want to bat for the other side, we can sork that out too.

You can find me in game on Twistroot - please poke me any time.

What are you guys up to now?

I swear, these people are the worst thing to happen to Stormwind since… Hard to say. The last guys like these, I suppose.

I actually like it. Its all more or less low key, as criminals should act. Keep up the good work, guys.

A little forgery, a little fencing, a little lifting and shifting on the docks, some heists, maybe some casual interception of caravans, and err…

But you know, REALLY we’re just farmers from Westfall who just need to learn to tend bar better.

Oh, yes, all my negative comments in this thread should, considering the matter at hand, actually be seen as positives.

I only mean it as a great compliment to the Blighters when I say that they are the scum of Azeroth and no upstanding citizen of Stormwind should ever even talk to them.

*bump to ensure it doesn’t close *

As of this evening, the Blighters of Bleak Street have ceased trading. Their associates paid off in silver and copper and sent into the night to find new business, legitimate or otherwise.

The guild has now disbanded, and we’d like to thank everyone in the past few weeks who has been involved with us. Our guildies are now out hitting the street shaking their pom-poms for new jobs. We wish them well and will doubtlessly mug them in the future.
