---- The redesign of the Blizzard Store —
#1. Remove all the mounts, pets, transmog, toys etc from the store and instead make them obtainable ingame.
#2. Start selling “Paint Vials” for all these items.
— Everybody Wins —
Activision Blizzard, like any company, is driven by money. A company will not listen to suggestions that will make them less money. Here is how both the company and the players benefit:
At the moment there are 14 mounts in the blizzard store, all together worth 355 Euro. (13x25+1x30).
There are more than 700 mounts ingame. All these except some special mounts, like the pvp gladiator mounts or pve raid mounts etc, could have several new color variations available in the Blizzard Store.
let’s say that one Paint Vial costs 10 euro and every mount has 7, 14, 21 or more colors(colors of the rainbow+light & dark shades).
let’s do some calculations on how much all these 700 mounts would be worth in total:
10 x 7 x 700 = 49 000
10 x 14 x 700 = 98 000
10 x 21 x 700 = 147 000
In conclusion, if a player would buy every color in both light and dark shades for all the mounts, the price would be around 150 000 Euro.
Now to a more realistic scenario for the average player. Lets say that a vast majority bought at least 1 Paint Vial for their favourite mount during their “WoW journey”. Blizzard doesn’t show subscription numbers anymore but let’s say that there is a minimum of 1 million at the moment.
10 x 1 000 000 = 10 000 000.
if most players got at least one new color variation for their favourite mount, in the redesigned Blizzard Store, that would be about 10 000 000 euro.
I dont know how much blizzard is making of these 14 store mounts, but you dont have to have a diploma in economics to figure out that selling Paint Vials for 700+ mounts would be so much more profitable.
— The Moral of the Story —
Why would players prefer Paint Vials over Store Mounts?
Here is why:
This mount and its system with different color variations is a huge success.
Most player would welcome this change with open arms. Make it happen Blizzard. The current situation is actually damaging your company’s brand. Take a look at the like to dislike ratio for the 15th anniversary store mounts.
It’s currently at 90% dislike.
The vast majority of players are actually starting to feel hatred against store mounts now and to Activision Blizzard. The famous WoW-Twitch-Streamer Asmongold is advocating for everybody to type /spit ingame on all players that they see, sitting in a saddle on top of a store mount.
Enough is enough. Respect is mutual. If a company disrespects its customers, then they will return the favour. All that we ask for is that we are being seen as PLAYERS and not PAYERS.
The choice is yours Blizzard, will you continue on this downward spiral or will you take a leap of faith to restore your good name again?
