Reminds me of that drawing of an old boat. The COs are sitting in front wondering why the boat don’t move faster even after the cutbacks they did,not seeing that they just have 1 rower(?) left on the whole boat…
There are thousands of definitions for casuals, the majority here use it to players whos not playing more than 2-3 hours /day but still doing avarage things like m+ and normal raiding. Those who just farm mounts etc are not even casuals I dont know what to name those tho. But casuals/normal players like me and the majority of the playerbase are pretty gutted right now with this gearing system as we are hard capped in gear progression and there is no chance to progress after reaching the m+ max ilvl cap which is really bad decision.
If you are doing at least one M+ dungeon a week, I don’t see how you are ‘gear capped’. You still get the chance for end of dungeon loot and a guaranteed upgrade piece every week from the vault. Yes, it’s a bit slower than before because there’s no titanforging bullcrap and the loot showering is gone, but news flash, that’s the same for everyone, it’s not a ‘punishment’ for you specifically.
Shadowlands is made for causal gameplay more than any other expansion before… Everything is time gated.
You can literally catch up a guy who’s playing 18hrs a day per week within 1 week.
Wtf you talking about?
I love the 3 casuals that posted in the last 10 messages and they have over 10k achievements two of them, the third being a classic profile.
Out of curiosity, if casuals uninterested in M+ and raids except lfr didn’t stay in BFA with Islands and Warfront, you think they are going to stay in SL with Pepegast?
Sorry but these arent standard things. I would like to know how many run m+ these days.
blizzard already pushed the panic button and moved the dungeon weekly to start this reset
so they are clearly seeing mass unsubs .
so casuals clearly refuse to be treated and 3rd category azeroth citizens
I don’t see what having over 10k achievements (especially with how long the game has been out) or what my character has to do with my opinion? The reason I use this character is because post count isn’t account-wide and I like the name
Or I can post off my retail character if that makes a difference?
Either way, the voices of a minority on the forum doesn’t feel the same to me in game by any stretch, everyone is entitled to an opinion but I think it’s silly to paint the whole casual playerbase with one brush.
Lots of people enjoy different things, and if some people don’t like SL that’s fine. I really disliked BfA and quit within a month, but I can see myself playing SL for a long time. That’s just me, but the majority of people I speak to feel the same way too.
So what do you think a “casual” player doing? Farming mounts and doing world quests all day for no reason? Because world quests aren’t fun and aren’t giving anything after you did a few rhc run. Doing m+ and normal raid considered an elite gamer thing now too?
In medio stat virtus. Not an elite but nor a “casual”.
Probably you have a distorted view of the average gamer: the part of the gamebase you call with sour despise "I dont know what to name those " is the majority.
Or you think that 90% of the playerbase run M+? You dont find WQ interesting? Is YOUR POV.
Im not running M+ cause i havent any good guild and i dont pug being pugs full of di@@s who blame or kick for any mistake. I prefer to fish 1 hour instead to try a raid boss in normal PUG.
Have you wondered why BG are full lately?
I dont know much about BGs as Im doing like max 1-2 /week. Im kinda casual too, not playing that much but still doing m+ with friends or even with randoms, because it does not require loads of time only 30-40 minutes.
There is no “sour despise” in that sentence simply I dont know how to call them as english is not my first language and Im not familiar with the latest nerd language.
Neither mine
Anyway i think all ppl have a different view of the game…
As a “very” casual ppl i agree with ppl running M+ angry about loot: they must have reward higher and quicker than ppl just doin regular BGs or WQ.
heroics are definitely puggable. mythic is the only challenge. i have pugged heroics before, wasnt hard.
raids are just extremely time consuming so i dont do that anymore.
already happening… just a matter of time now, unless something happens.
the current content is pushing all players to raid.
mythic+ is casual gameplay. but its almost worthless now compared to raids.
currently its either world quests and mythic+ or raiding (which is far better than mythic+).
good conduits and memories (core feature in shadowlands) are also raiding.
its “Worthless” ebcause of ur mindset. M+ Drops Mythic ilevel gear each week. its not worthless and most players still need tons of gear from M+ so i really dont understand where you’ve pulled this from.
the people who did a +15 worlds first had barely any raid loot at all when they went in…
if all the addicted wow players left in one go, blizzard would probably go bankrupt overnight :\ many players are addicted to wow, but cant admit it to themselves. thats why gambling is maybe the worst form of addiction, you dont see it until its too late and the person can never admit that they have a problem to anyone.
If you log in once a week on a weekly basis just to do the weekly requirements you cannot call yourself a casual player. You are going through the same checklist as hardcore player to make sure they progress.
Casual player may log in once a week as well but are the ones who get distracted by a number of things and progress isn’t their major concern although it is still important part of their gameplay.
I think there are 2 groups of wow players at war on this issue. 1 wants a loot fest like diablo and the second group wants gear to be a badge of honor/accomplishment.
the problem i was pointing towards was this…
i am pretty much exactly the same as you only i did try push these “OPTIONS”
as you put them already…(not raids though… i don’t have the time to invest to commitments which raids require right now… as im caring for my mum who has cancer…)…
once i did start pushing these options… sure to begin it felt great i was having a blast…
but the more i delve into them the more i noticed i was not actually progressing in any way while doing it … i had been playing for… must of been over 10 hours and had absolutely nothing to show for the time i had invested into so called (pushing these options for progression).
it made me realise just how watered down the content actually is and how much time i would legitimately have to spend playing the game to make and kind of real progress at all…
i mean it says it all that so called “TOP RAIDER” by name only… are having hard time even getting gear themselves…
the drops are undertuned… people just don’t like to admit it.
