AA or rendering scale

Hi there.

I recently bought a new monitor for my pc gaming. It’s a decent upgrade but nothing fancy: a curved 32” 144 hz monitor. All my games look very crisp but only wow seems to disagree with it.

I’ve tried to tweak the settings in WoW, which I can run on high/ultra, and I seem to be getting the best results with either AA turned on or a render scale of 150%. I actually prefer the latter since AA gives me a blurred image, even on the lowest AA setting.

Without both I see jaggy lines everywhere.

Anyone have any advice regarding this?
My standard resolution is 1920x1080.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure? A 32" inch display with only 1080P?? Of course that’s gonna be blurry.
Even 27" and 1080P is not recommended.
You would need at least 1440P for a sharp image on a 32" or even 4K.

That is normal. MSAA is recommended, 4x should be enough.
Supersampling (renderscale over 100%) gives more detail in textures and transparent textures e.g. but is sligthly blurier than MSAA.
Also Supersampling stresses the GPU more since you are rendering at a higher resolution internally and downscaling it back to 1080P.
Like 200% at 1080P native res, is like rendering at 4K.

Thanks for your answer.

Yeah my resolution is standard 1920x1080. It’s not a really expensive monitor but a good upgrade from my first era HDMI screen.
Here is a link to my display:

Like I said my other games look very sharp, for example Modern Warfare/Warzone looks great with the right settings, but I’m having trouble with WoW.

I’ll try out some more options but for now supersampling at 150% is less blurry than wen I use AA.
