Ability to queue dungeons for the story / campaign

Hello,

I’d like to propose the ability to play through dungeons for the story. I’m proposing this because I had just finished a dungeon with a group I found via the dungeon finder, but when I was trying to listen to what the characters have to say at the end, the group kicked me out, because they wanted to proceed to another dungeon.

I understand that they’re in a hurry, but I didn’t even have the time to explain myself before the votekick took place. And because of that I missed what the characters had to say, so I have to re-queue for the dungeon to see the conversation. I don’t think this is very convenient and I can assume other new players to be very confused when they’re trying to play the story.

I would very much like that too, a lot of storylines end in a raid or dungeon and you need to queue and hope you have a group that takes it slow so you can enjoy the story in said dungeon/raid.
Nowadays everyone is always in a rush and oh noes when you “lag behind”

I wish there was a “story mode” to a dungeon. Scaled down to one person or one person with NPC’s if need be. And no rewards like gear or other loot like you get from the actual dungeon, so this story mode is pure for the story. Or something like that?

Perhaps it can be combined with a tutorial / short walkthrough of what to expect in the real dungeon/raid so you can see the tactics and can prepare for the fight, so you can see it from your own angle and addons instead of some random youtuber with whatever addon they have.

This is something GW2 excels at. The whole story is instanced with the option to be played in a group. But that is optional. The same should be done for the story in WoW instances. Make the group optional and allow to be done solo.

Indeed, some wrath dungeons has Lich King himself showing up and doing stuff, doing them first time is really nice, to see the story, etc. It’s not fair to kick someone because they read texts/watch cinematic, etc.

This right here is the only valid post I’ve seen on this forum for a very long time. Gives a solution, and with no “power gain”, just something that can be achieved technically, and just for the sake of the story.
Even If I don’t really stay for stories in the game (I wait for them to pile up on youtube and then see in the exact order), this, sir, this is the best idea for people who want to enjoy the story.

This is how it should be.
It should work a bit like how Torghast did, you could solo it or you could go with a couple of friends if you wanted.

I might be tempted back in to actual dungeoneering if I had a chance to go in alone and get my barings, check out the pit-falls and just get to grips with how things worked.

I did Halls of Attonement a few weeks ago to finish off my Revendreth Sojourner Achievement. I enjoyed figuring out how to do the bosses there, the one where all the tormented sould heal him took me a while and I had to look it up.
If I was with a group just running through it I wouldn’t get to see the dungeon or figure out anything. All I’d be doing is trying to follow someone and hope I didn’t lose the group.

You can search that cinematic on youtube to see what that char/boss has to say.

That doesn’t justify the kick though.

There should be a tourist mode for dungeons yes. However people shouldnt expect gear for it. For raids I dont think its needed since after every LFR wing you can just chill since you cant be kicked anyhow.
