I’m here after a well deserved ban (sic) and I’m into a new topic … wow communities.
It will be a good thing to understand what a community is good for. It’s about communication on every sides, about improvements, care and honor and most importantly they tend to offer a high quality of things you cannot find somewhere else, like safe and confidence, especially for new players.
I’m not saying some wow communities doesn’t offer that. What I’m saying is that dull, under development, underpinned and non cohesive should NOT be named communities.
Let’s call it for what they are.
A BUNCH of SPYING group of people.
I call that a “METAPOSE”
Yes, I’m talking about spying. Spying other people gear while pve or pvp gear is in the bag is just plain stupidity. Same goes for time played, damage done, character creation, achievements and so on. The term metapose comes from inverse kinematic, you know, that animation you admire when your character laugh, fight, pray, eat or die. It means the initial position of the bones for a programmer to animate.

Of course it could also mean a misspelled menopause and it will be misogynistic to acquire that, but nevertheless, some will do (I do expect comments on that, so read below).
However, poppets don’t act by themself. They have a Geppetto up and running, either if it is a push poppet, dinkum, olli, juju or hoodoo poppets. They are all triggered puppets.
So in WOW communities players who are triggered by low IO, low gear, knowed or unknowed content development like new patch, low “skillz”, politically incorrect comments or stuff like that, are for me “metapose players”, a puppet ready to be filled with what I call in my native language that developers like it so much (that will be romanian, and yeah venthir ARE all romanians by names) “c um sa te umpli de bors”, in translation “how to make fun of yourself”.
Let’s take this forum for example. I can only assume improvements, care and honor cause none are reflected back in game. It is because the community has lost the interest. The interest was lost because as consumer, you got nothing else to do but to accept developer changes. The involvement is somehow spiritual, meaning is there, but you cannot touch, feel, eat or play with. A strong community offer tools, knowledge, insiders and much more, for you to get attracted, so you could get back involvement. The only thing this community offer for his consumers is STRINGS.
Puppet strings.
You do that and there and you get a cookies.
You fail to do that and there will be mockery, meme and sarcasm.
THAT IS NOT COMMUNITY, that’s stratification and you need to liberate yourself from this serfdom.
That been said, I expect people to take communities seriously, act in accordance and more importantly NEVER LET poppets define a community. I also expect people on this forum to blinge less and chore some functional decision. That could include less meme, less sarcasm and more importantly less time play if your satisfaction is not there, in the game.
I’m asking people to salvage whatever they can. It was a great game with great story and with even great value in future development.
Now all we got is poppets to play with.
