Not gonna talk about class changes that came with the PTR. Obviously some will like them some will not. Those that don’t like them will be heard more than the others, it’s always like that.
The Molten Core Hardmode(?)(heat level) concept.
I am obviously positived biased towards this since Ulduar is my favorite raid difficulty concept. I mean we can all agree that classic population is not very fond of difficult raids and we saw that with prenerf Sunken Temple.
But it is a very interesting thing to spice up MC and give some people a challenge. The main and biggest concern i have is that it will kill all people’s motivation to do it because of consumables.
Let’s be honest. Raiding in classic is hella expensive.( yeah you can say you dont need any consums to kill smthng bla bla bla, but we all know ppl wanna do good numbers and perform.) In order for hardmode to be succesful we need consumables to last through deaths. Noone is gonna pop 10 mongoose/Giants/Firewater per hour to kill something challenging. The people will run out of motivation to do them cause its too expensive and DOA.
TLDR: Make consumables to last through death so people are keen on doing the challenging stuff.
this precisely.
bads fuming because they want all the skilled players to be dragged down to ez-land and play at their level, regardless of their ability to beat harder content.
“if i can’t beat it, you shouldn’t be able to either!”
even the sweatiest of sweats won’t bother with the harder modes if it doesn’t provide better rewards.
why would they?
i mean if not for the logs, there’s no reason to do it… if its for the logs people are just going to do maybe a single parse run and call it a day, because now they got their oranges, pinks and yellows and have no further need to do it.
if the rewards are the same for all modes people aren’t going to bother because there is no incentive to do so… this is pretty cut and dry lol.
its like asking why a rank 7 isn’t participating in bgs after getting max rank… why would they? there is no incentive.
for the fun of it?
like really?
we gonna clown?
Well then the sweats can shut up.
If you care so much about harder difficulty then just do it and be quiet.
If the difficulty isn’t the reason for playing the game then just shut up and enjoy the loot pinata with the rest of us.
You have your choice, make it. Be a pleb, or be a tryhard, either way it’s the same reward. But don’t cry about the game being too easy when you’re choosing the easier difficulty.
so i’m not allowed to be rewarded for beating the harder content?
that doesn’t make sense.
i hope you’re not actually delusional enough to convince yourself that the rewards for the harder difficulty won’t be better than those gained from the easier difficulty.
there’s like mathematically negative chance of that happening.
Not sure if you are trolling or not. Noone said to not have hard things, i literally said go all for it. Consumables and the economy is the problem that wont make them succesful in the end.
You are rewarded. I get axe of +15 STR, you get axe of +15 STR.
If the reward matters more than the difficulty does then play on an easier mode. If you want to feel like the difficulty matters then play on a higher difficulty. I don’t see what the problem is. When I play older singleplayer games I can choose a lower or higher difficulty. I don’t get rewarded more in terms of gear for choosing a higher difficulty. The reward is the satisfaction in overcoming a harder challenge. If you don’t find satisfaction in that then don’t play the harder content.
so now logical sense is trolling?
how is me saying a better player should be reasonably expected to gain better rewards for beating harder content, trolling, in any sense of the word?
you guys might wanna refresh your definition of the word “troll” because its clearly not what you think it is.
what i am saying is literally as reasonable as reasonable can be, and i’m trolling?
literally what?
should people who farm UBRS or BRD get rewards on the same level as people who farm MC too?
Well I don’t know about trolling but a simple matter of fact is that you are in a competitive multiplayer game. If you are a better player AND you get better gear then how is someone who is a worse player who’s numbers literally cannot beat yours, supposed to ever be able to go toe to toe with you?
[edit: gear disparity is not going to be healthy for balance of any competitive aspects of the game]
That’d be like whoever has the highest KDA in Counter Strike getting +10 health and +1 ammo to their clip for every 5% higher they are to everyone else.
If youy’re the better player then you will just, yknow, be better. You don’t need better gear. The mere fact that you are a better player will show for itself.
Like the idea that the better player should just get an advantage to be betterer is just ludicrous. If anything the worse player should get a handicap to be able to compete in any realistic fashion.
I told since the start harder and more rewarding is good but consumable usage will make it bad.
Sunken temple prenerf with good mana pots costing 8g each? Noone wants that.
All i said is make it ecofriendly so people can enjoy it.
People will come back from stoping mid p3 with 500g and you think they will spent 100gold per pull with GFPP and all other consums? If so you are delusional.
You found the wrong guy to talk about skilled ppl deserving more reward. So read again and then reply.
Nah doing harder things in game should show off somehow lets be real m8. I dont wanna look the same doing MC heat lvl 3 as someone that does MC heat lvl 1
I think that easy mode gear should be kinda bland looking but difficult mode gear should look cool with added effects. Maybe even throw in a title. Peacock gear basically.
right and if you are beating the competition you should be rewarded for your efforts appropriately, and not be artificially held back because others can’t beat the competition.
that is literally how every aspect of life works. the very food chain every living being is a part of is designed around this concept.
by beating the same content and reaping the rewards the better player conquered.
nobody except you can stop you, at the end of the day.
apples and oranges.
if i am not rewarded with better gear for beating the harder content, i am not going to bother doing the harder content. simple as.
to argue that harder content would be frequented by even a minority of top sweats is just an unreasonable expectation to have, and it would mean the devs just wasted their efforts.
they are not getting an advantage that is inaccessible to you.
the content is right there for you to master just the same.
Right, let’s give the skilled player better gear so that the unskilled players can’t possibly beat the now superior geared better skilled player. Makes sense.
Then don’t do it, and don’t complain that the easier content is easier. Simple as.
They are, that’s why it is a higher difficulty.
[edit]
Also typically when you beat the competition you get a trophy, not an advantage to beat the competition through unfair advantages next round.
blame incursions and by extension blizzard. they absolutely murdered the economy.
i fully agree that alchemists essentially running a scam on the entire playerbase is unhealthy af.
but it is what it is.
many people circumvent this problem by having an alch/herbalist of their own in order to produce their own consumables.
last i checked both players are facing the exact same bosses with the exact same dmg/hp values and mechanics.
they aren’t competing against eachother directly, unless you are referring to pvp, in which case LOL.
OR we could do the logical thing and reward the better player for putting in more effort than the baddie who outright refuses to do so, and the baddie can take solace in the fact he gets rewarded at all.
