So we know there is an 9.2 coming out.
Alot of people are saying Blizz wouldn’t have time for a 9.3 , even if was pre-planned.
They have to release a new expac.
Would you guys be okay if 9.3 was just a raid , no new zone content , reps , mounts etc to farm.
Just a raid patch for us to do until next expac came out , would you guys be cool with that ? Or just want to jump straight from 9.2 to new expansion ?
I’m still sad we never got to see that Shattrath city raid in wod =[

Why wouldn’t they have time for 9.3?
The amount of patches per expansion or even the duration of an expansion is not set in stone is it?
Agreed.
Shadowlands cannot be over soon enough in my view.

Doubt we’ll get a 9.3, wouldn’t make sense at all financially. If they’re behind and struggling like everything makes out you’d condense the content making a really strong 9.2 january time. Then have febs (I think it’s feb?) Blizzcon all about the next expansion summer time as per usual. Expansion releases make them wayyyyyyyyyy more money then patches.
Welp, I’d be okay with added content being Just a raid. As long as they also include fixes and positive changes for older content too.
If they actually worked from home at that time being we could very well see both 9.2 and 9.3 releasing back to back but I highly doubt that will be the case so my best guess would be 9.2 jailer raid in azeroth and then void incursion somehow somewhere also in azeroth.
My guess is that they’re just getting as much value as they can from the littlest content they can put out while already preparing to get things back on track for the next expansion, at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if 9.3 was skipped entirely.

As far as I remember, Ion (I think?) mentioned that Shadowlands won’t have a “off-event” where some new big danger erupts like Azshara and N’Zoth, and that Zorvaal is indeed the last boss of the expansion, but considering how often have changed things despite their own claims, I’d not be surprised that something like that would happen anyway.

A lot are expecting Blizz to stick to a summer release despite SL being released in late November.
For all we know they could just have SL last longer than 2y just to accommodate for the 9.1 delays and call it a day, 9.3 would exist and this xpack would conclude on a positive note instead of being wod 2.0
There’s two empty slots in the oribos portal toward the SL zones, which could accommodate a zone for both 9.2 & 9.3
If it was then I wouldn’t have any new content & wouldn’t even consider taking a sub until the next xpack.
I doubt I would be an isolated case & that would be pretty bad for the active playerbase.
Nah it’s just the way things worked so far. But hey, SL was the first xpack delayed since BC and had by far the latest release date so it’s not outside the realm of possibility.
Why tho ? A new xpack requires far more resources than a patch & I doubt the game has ever been in a difficult financial state so far.
Even a bad patch is still good enough for Blizz imo as players will usually come back for the sake of gear progression even without new content, such as PVPers & M+ players.
I doubt the game needs more than a few million players to be financially viable, and if early BFA managed to get them then so will SL.

I prefer to have 10.0 delayed by half a year if that means we can get a 9.3 and it finishes the story properly. I’m just going to guess that this is a loss of income for them though, so if they go this route expect more micro transactions.

Not going for 9.3 and instead going for 10.0 is the ultimate form of greed.
Even blizzard’s not that greedy.
Uh, my apologies but. Your reply was sent to me alas I don’t see my quote in your response. Which means I don’t know which part of your response was specifically directed to me. Would you mind enlighten me?
As a guy who’s just done with SL right now, I’d not mind a 9.3 patch, if it brought a lot of changes to “fix” the stuff SL brought along, because even right now I’d love to play 8.2 more than 9.1.
On paper there’s nothing wrong with say
9.2: Jan 2022.
9.3: July/Aug 2022.
10.0: March/April/May 2023.
But if sub numbers are drifting its a long time to put off that big wave of millions of people buying a new expansion.
I don’t think they will skip 9.3. The development of a new expansion starts literally on the same day the current one lands, so I expect the same factors that delayed 9.1 to affect 10.0, and in most cases it’s just not possible to compensate this delay by throwing more devs on the project.
i just want them to fix current game,it stutters everywhere runs like a early acess steam game, even ff14 in dx11 runs better than this spaghetty code masked in dx12.
FIX THE GAME IM PAYING FOR CONSTANTLY BLIZZARD.
THANKS!
I’d honestly rather the story just cut short and it’s all rushed in 9.2, maybe a 9.2.5 purely focused on story.
I am tired of Covenants.
I am tired of the mandatory flight paths between each zone.
I am tired of the current PVP meta.
I just want it over. And honestly the sooner the next expansion comes out the simpler it’ll be, which probably means no garbage Covenant / Soulbind / AP system.

With Shadowlands we had a lot of the concepts and a lot of the work had been done and then transitioned to work from home, where we finalised and shipped. This was the first one where we did everything in work from home. We learned a lot of new things. For a developer, you like to learn new ways of doing things because you can take some of that going forward. And you can learn from the things that went well, and the things that didn’t. One of the things we really liked for Chains of Domination is we did take our time. We wanted to make sure we hit the quality bar we wanted to. We put a lot of content in there - there’s a little bit of something for everybody. We did want to make sure this was a content update that’s going to appeal to a broad swath of players.

Nah, I’d be happier if they put all the customizations they were supposed to be working on for SL in there along with Heritage armor sets and everything else they still haven’t put into SL like promised. I have a feeling all that stuff won’t be in 9.2.
I’d be surprised if they even added one new set of heritage armor for one race this expansion. Everything just feels so rushed and lacking.
Edit: I take it back. They decided to add one new thing: New swimming animations for mechagnomes:
