About raid difficulty and the nerf

First of all, I understand this is SoD, where everything is tailored to be easily accessible with little to no farm: easier reps, easier lvling, easier gearing… and it makes sense for raids to be easily cleared.

That being said, I have never had as much fun or motivation to play than these past three days, exactly until yesterday at 22:05. And I say 22:05 and not 22:00 because I didn’ realize until then that they didn’t only fix the cheese ledge (I literally exclaimed “I just recovered my faith in BlizzarD!”) but overall nerf the fight to the ground.

One thing is making content accessible, and another one is hotfixing such a big nerf, removing up to 40% hp only because people aren’t farming it in less than a week at launch, even before actually gearing up (gnomer bises being prebises is a different topic).

The first week just passed and content seems trivial already. I was even worried about being anxious irl to play enough time to reach the boss and continue facing it and improve at it.
Then again, I understand this is “Season of Discovery of Casual MMorpgs” but I wanted to share how this first week of content reinvigorated my motivation to dedicate time to this game despite of the horribly designed Incursions.

Instead, such a quick and trivializing nerf only did the opposite and can only be described as “P4 hype!”

I dont disagree with your points. I just want to say, that Devs are not good in communicating what SoD is supposed to be. For me its the opposite from your point of view.

I was not able to play for three days. I will not be able to do hundreds of trys on bossed and I also dont want to do that. I want to sit down in the evening and just relax, do my rotation and not think too much about boss mechanics. Maybe do some parsing and try to get to purple logs… but thats all I want from SoD.

If the devs try to cater to every player type they will fail. They need to make a clear statement on what their goal is.

They have and it’s exactly what you want from SoD. Congrats on that

Honestly I’m in the same situation as you are. Like, exactly the same.
The beginning of this phase was an exception and I didn’t expect what happened but I loved it all the same, to the point of making this post and share my experience.

Honestly I think you overestimate the overall skilllevel of most of the playerbase.

This boss will probably still break alot of pugs (if other bosses dont allready do that beforehand).

The Boss was fine pre nerf, IT WAS LIKE OLD CLASSIC YOU HAD A LEARNING CURVE TO HIM!!
My guilds last attempt before the nerf was 2%
Then next attempt hotfix dropped mid fight, ramp to ledge disapeared, we clapped him right away.

Now the fight is a joke.

Overall blizzard should announce these things before and not just drop them on players unnanounced, should have atleast waited to the server reset and dropped a patch with it if they wanted to nerf the later bosses.

TL;DR Boss wasnt that hard, suprise nerf was bad, boss now is a pushover

They literally said leveling dungeons shouldn’t be a struggle lol

the problem is the balance gap between classes is so big that’s it’s pointless to do hard content.
or everyone would have to reroll mage/rogue/hunt

No its not, all classes pump hard on that fight. Pre nerf it was just very technical. Phase 1 nothing special, do the boss mechanic, interrupt

Phase change, nuke the 2 adds while interrupting them
Phase 2, whelps were a pushover died to aoe, didnt hit for much could be “ignored” a few living bombs and some aoe just killed them
Phase 3 transition, kill 2 adds interrupt them - ez
Phase 3 proper, focus each add 1 by 1 by a dedicated grp of ppl, to control their numbers - this was the main raid killer of all, interrupt them if you can, no need for aoe just get a bunch of ranged to slap them, they had 23k hp, you could kill them in 15 seconds and then nuke the next wave. Everyone had to look out for acid raid. The rest of the raid just had to focus the boss

That was the whole fight.

sure sure :joy:

Youre just mad cause youre bad, we went there without a perfect comp and youre whining about class balance. go back to retail

sure sure , there’s no reason why every first clear played with like 9mage and 3hunt , i get it you’re extremely lowiq , no need to yell about it.

why do you unemployed basement dweller have to be so degenerate seriously :joy:

Could ask the same thing given your posts, back to eating my lunch cya

oh come on , i get it you’re a special kind of stupid but you couldn’t get any better comeback than “no u” ?

what a pathetic cringelord

If u want difficult raids, go to retail. Season of Discovery was made for dad gamers not sweaty nerds in first place

Just shows that you have no clue because you think that the first raids brought that many mages because of the boss and not because they were needed for the dungeon grind to get as fast as possible to lvl50.
Eranikus is a loot pinata now, for loot that isnt needed for the most part because loot of “high level” dungeons is pretty much on pair.
This tears of the player base just because raid wasnt cleared within the first hours and complaining that everything is too hard even though they werent running the raid even once, just hit a new high point.

you missed the context above , we were talking about class balance mr clueless , never said that the only way to play.

and if anything the difficulty pre nerf didn’t bother me.

and your braindead argument, that sod is for dads, was never stated anywhere from a dev. Its just made up by those bad dads like you who just want loot pinatas to justify braindead content

never said that , that was another person , learn to read lil brainlet

You just wrote it until you edited your post. Bad troll attempt

it’s litteraly Whitmane comment above that mentionned sod dads , come on lil brainlet …
