I honestly like to play with Healing Rain, what’s the Fuzz about not playing it. Absolutely does awesome healing and you can turn the pressure too by talenting into Acid Rain.
Who cares i want to play this, i feel so naked without a good Healing spell.
It’s hard enough to ask people to stay inside earthen wall, now imagine asking them to stay in yet another spell.
Generally, in PVP people hate these “on-the-ground” effects - death and decay, consecration, healing rain, etc. Enemies just move out of your damaging effects, and allies tend to not notice them and move away while kiting from your beneficial effects.
If you like it personally, fair enough. If you can make it work in arenas and bgs, even better.
People already run out of earthen. Now imagine another stationary healing/defensive. Also i remember healing rain has a giga long casttime which makes not suitable for arena imo.
Through a pvp talent it’s free.
I guess it’s fine for BG scenarios where people stack in longer zerg skirmishes but for arena… Dunno about that. Even if you have people who are aware and stay within its radius, is it really worth it? Atm living tide, grounding and static field totem are pretty much staple for me. They almost always are useful no matter the enemy comb.

Because first you need sacrifice talent points to get it and then you need sacrifice honor talent for it and even with all the boost for it or the set made for it, its still bad. Look murlok how many shaman play it or set. If it was good people would use it but i rather use better talents and honor talent options and i rather not use set with bad stats especially if the bonuses it provides are bad
It’s in a weird spot atm. The hard casted heals actually do pump quite a lot (and will be even more potent in 10.2 with the buffs) but one of rshamys biggest poblems imo is that our CD’s all have heavy downsides which can be easily exploited by decent players.
Also blizz focusing buffs on casted heals when shamans stack mastery because of their mastery is most worth one can do as shaman, so we have no haste to cast
I think shaman just need rework or some at pvp dev who know how the spec plays to do the next tuning and set design instead of some raid Andy designing pve 
Yeah I’m not really feeling people walking out on totems on cooldown and while casted heals are strong, shaman doesn’t exactly stack haste so every casted heal is a potential death if you don’t juke
I mostly play BGs after snagging my 1800 set tho, and the shaman experience is stand still inside your totems hoping instants come off CD before people die (because casting outside of your alloted 5 sec kick immunity every 2 min is the death of someone)
And ultimately die a slow death to melee you can’t escape
I get whiplash touching my shaman after doing games on my evoker with 3 spell schools, unslowable moving-while-casting, root breaking/cc immune breath spells and triple CC immunity going into teamfights
I want to like my shaman but it just feels grim playing it, and now I am getting shapeshift envy while shaman is never going to see an updated ascendance model 
It need almost complete overhaul to be anything but that in pvp as the current is pretty much just design for pve which wow mostly is
The current direction where wow is heading its toolkit and spec design is obsolete
Ive been saying since saw df talents that why is shaman tree almost half of the talents some buffs for casted heals, why is there so much that is for hard casted heals. Anyone who ever played shaman knows you mostly just spam instants and rotate cds as shaman the moment one would stop cast surge is rare and even more rarer is the cast for healing wave even with this ns healing wave primodial wave 1min trick its meh at best if you have to go so deep in tree and dedicate so many talents for something that is just meh at best every 1min for once
Rsham design and resto talents are really meh 
You have some means of defense against melee zuggers. Thunderstorm, static field totem with totemic projection, earthgrab totem, tanking them to some degree with earthen wall totem on you and astral shift. In my case also panda racial into earthgrab and kite away. It had been worse in the past regarding “train the blues”.
This is more specifically about BG situations, where these tools feel rather inconsequential when people have several gap closers
earthern wall need 40 yard range or work like a backpack for a target would be a nice change

it really makes no sense in pvp to be dome sized but instead of big wall it abbsorbing like 4000 dmg per tick when people are hitting each other 180k per hit 
also who in their right minds outside of shuffle ofc just stands still and continues tank enemy cd or casts instead run around pillar and kite melee cds
40y range or being like buff that you just give for people like earth shield is the only option for it if we want rsham design make more sense in modern pvp, and we can just completely forget about healing rain. healing rain sucks nobody cares of healing rain except the op
Earthen is actually pretty massive, especially double-earthen. But yes, it does not negate 1 shot scenarios.
It does, however, make specs like Feral, Affliction, SP, Assa Rog,Demo warlock and to a smaller degree Moonkins, DH, BM hunter do negative zero damage to your teammates.
I remember facing a mirror as Mistweaver into Resto shaman when I was healing Affli/SP. Was not even close. The Rshaman just put his earthens and basically afk-ed while I was ooming lol
The only big problem with Earthen is the animation. Like PLEASE just make it a big brown Dome similar to Priest and DK. Even if it resembles a mud igloo, who cares.

They actually did add a small squigly line that goes from the totem to people inside of it, but earthen/link is just a bad fit for shuffle and I suspect soloq rbgs

problem is ppl dont stay on its area for long or is it really viable as idea to have it designed as little soak for long period of time as this small area sized where people are supposed to stand for long periods of time to get the benefit of the lil soak
it would be better if it were big abbsorb/wall in small window say 4-6sec instead of little soak if it remain this area type where people are supposed to stand for long period of time
or we change it into something with 40y range which ppl dont need to mind if theyre on it or not to gain the lil soaky
darkness and dome works better cause they give more benefit on their small period of time on the affected area so you time them and ppl with brain take the benefit of it but that doesnt rly apply with earthen as we cant stand in place constantly for the lil soak to become as useful as dome example
made me giggety 
they just need to make it a healing tide totem-like effect that pulses the absorb every 1 second onto everyone in 40 yards. leave the “stand in X” effects for pve. People say “oh they just need to make it brighter” - like man, we have 5 raid markers macro’d into the earthen + raid warning + /yell + /say + toys to make it glow even more and people don’t walk into it. people run out of dome instantly all the time too. these mechanics are just bad.
this also gets into the problem with ground textures. it is wayyyy harder to see earthen on some maps as opposed to others. ah yes let me just spot the thin brown fog ring on the brown, rough dirt ground texture, under the blizzard, under bladestorm, under the imp army, under the gateway, under the ret pala light show.
people have been downloading weak auras just to let them know this ability has been used for years and years. its pretty wild that it still isn’t changed, but hey, maybe this can be yet another google result that people can stumble upon a year from now when it still hasnt been changed:

Idk Mangi, the excitement of playing a shaman is gone. It’s gone to the wind. I just wanted to try out something unique and enjoy the game. In Solo Shuffle i feel weak, other healing specs just apply much more faster pressure ( I say that priests ) are same as in Shadowlands, when you dispell, another dot is applied in a second. I know why people play priests, because as you shield your targets you have more time to focus into the game. I would ask a flat 30 % nerf to shields, also for angel duration to be halved as it’s to avoid cc. Roots are shamans best ally but i don’t like this class a bit. I’m gonna try without a BM trinket.
