Hi, i just wanted to talk with you about enhancement and incoming changes to lava lash damage, what do you guys think(or have some theorycrafts) after that 40% dmg increase will our damage be a little competitive, like upper middle or something?
At current state, Lava Lash is 3% of my dps in single target and 0% in cleave/aoe. This means if I straight up removed Lava Lash from my bars and instead just sat there and did nothing on that global, I would go from 5332 to 5128 st dps, and exact same aoe dps. Lava lash could receive a 350% damage buff and it STILL wouldn’t change is position in the priority list, which is “barely better than an empty gcd”.
Lava lash needs a functionality buff, not a numbers buff. Even if it got buffed by 8000%, it would simply be a stronger stormstrike that doesn’t reset off stormbringer. Right now, its simply a weaker stormstrike that doesn’t reset off stormbringer and can’t proc wf.
We already have a melee strike, which hits with both weapons and thus has excellent synergy with almost every part of our kit, mw weapon, wf, stormbringer, you name it. Lava lash needs to be doing something more than just damage. It could spread flameshock, it could do aoe dmg if you LL a target with FS, it could be Lashing Flames becoming baseline, there are many ideas floating around and all of them are more creative than 'hurr durr we increased lava lash dmg, please press lava lash mr shamans".
That’s exactly what I were thinking. Flame shock spread would be nice and then fire nova would be a great aoe option like in WoD oh god i loved that playstyle.

Not really , in aoe situation it’s more of crash lightning procs than a lava lash doing damage.
To be honest i think this “buff” is just meant to make the legendary “primal lava actuators” more viable with something like necrolords builds and maybe stormkeeper instead of sundering (because oh god these lightning bolt will hit super hard)
I liked it a lot too but with the legendary that mentioned before it would make it nearly op in funnel situation. They would need to tweek it a bit to make this change possible 
I test this leg at the start of the expansion and tbh it wasnt bad , just the lava lash was not hitting that hard , i have my ele shaman on necrolords and i plan to test it again on him when 9.0.5 goes live 
Could be more of a heavy mastery build for pvp or bursty situation like at the end of mop when we all did the mastery crit build ascendance elemental blast oneshotburst thingy
