About the blue buff in Twilight Protocol (from a tank pov)

When tanking these dungeons, I’m getting conflicting opinions on how I should approach this as a tank.

Some players want me to pick a spot and just tank the boss(es) in place, like a Patchwerk type of boss. Disregarding any form of boss mechanic, as long as it’s not a strict oneshot. While others think I’m griefing the run when staying stationary, not taking boss mechanics into consideration.

I’m getting a bit tired of having people moan at me regardless of what I do. So that begs the question, what do you actually want your tank to do? Prio keeping the boss stationary in favour of higher dps potential, or play with boss mechanics in mind? It’s really a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation that seems to divide the community.

If they are melee they shouldn’t only take blue and expect fight to be static. Some bosses are chaotic running around, teleporting and forcing you to kite stuff. DPS should choose their damage buff accordingly and let the tank do the tanking job.

I also thought this, that melee dps should go bronze in most scenarios.

But after some field testing (on ret paladin and arms warrior in particular) I also realised that the blue buff is probably the way to go even for certain melee specs that scale terribly with haste. I’m apparently not alone in this, since melee dps players have started asking the tank to stay stationary for their (and other potential melee dps) dps gain.

It’s gotten to a point where I really cba arguing in the middle of runs when half the group wants you to do mechanics and the other half wants you to stand still and ignore them. It’s a really toxic environment where no matter what you choose to do as a tank, you’re wrong. In their mind you’re griefing the run, and I’ve seen getting people getting kicked for way less then allegedly being a griefer. One of the worst cases I’ve had this far was a feral druid complaining and flaming me (not gonna type his words because that would probably get me forum banned) the entire run after I kited the first boss in Tol’vir away from the bombs, since he then couldn’t stand still behind the boss and shred for maximum zug (atleast I wasn’t kicked). I really hope this type of dungeon gameplay won’t be a thing in MoP.

(Also, from a dps pov, the blue buff makes me not want to play dps at all right now due to how awkward it feels to play with).
