Okay so help me understand this. Is level squish like in Guild Wars 2 where when you hit level cap, every zone/dungeon scales to your level?
Basicly it’s about reducing the max level to a smaller number, probably 120 into 60 and all other levels scale accordingly, in this example are just divided by 2.
It wasn’t fully officialy confirmed yet. But based on the surveys it most likely will happen. That’s all we know, asking questions how it will work is pointless.
Everyone that knows the answer will get fired if they reveal those information. So anyone that can answer doesn’t know the answer. Just wait till they announce it and explain it.
Level scaling and level squish are two different things. and you might confuse them. So if you are asking about level scaling instead. Here’s how it works every zone has minimum and maximum level(you just hover your mouse over the zone on the map to check it). Everything in that zone will scale to your level but only within those boundries. For example if zone is 60-65 then if you are level 40 then everything will be level 60, if you are level 62 then everythign will be 62 and if you are level 80 then everything will be 65.
What is this level squish supposed to achive? Without some gameplay changes it won’t make retail leveling as enjoyable as in Vanilla.
this is my question, if what i seen was true, it will take the same amount of time to level, so whats the point? are some people afraid of the number 120 or something?
If the XP required is the same nothing will change except that getting a level will feel more “rewarding” that’s apparently the point of it
Leveling sucks because it’s too easy and it feels like necessary pain to go through to 120 lvl. In Vanilla lvl 1-60 is already a journey.
@Cedrad i understand how scaling works, so basically level squish is just lowering max level then? If that is the case i dont really understand the point of it.
thats the thing, it will still take just as long to reach max level. only difference is each level will take double the time.
Excuse me? You don’t have to read quests and take time doing them. I can finish a zone in leveling character without spending much time.
Right now leveling is good.
Leveling is fairly boring and broken, due to the way that the timeline flows between expansions.
In my (Notice: MY) opinion after you’ve capped a toon, your following character should receive an optional (notice the word, optional!) really HEFTY XP-boost, 200%? 500%?
And leveling with the current way, where you acquire spells and talents is very unrewarding.
Plus the way, that the world (partially) scales with you, you never feel any stronger, thus feeling very… very… very dull and uninspiring.
There is nothing fun watching the magical number besides your UnitFrame to go up, when it has little to no meaning.
If someone would ask me, they should squish the level to 40, then we (perhaps) would have some meaningful rewards for most of the levels we gain.
