"I am absolutely speechless at the current state of World of Warcraft: Midnight. and all I’m getting is a UI that is fundamentally broken.
Here is the nightmare I am living through right now:
GHOST ADDON ERRORS: I have deleted my Cache, I have emptied my Interface folder, and I have ZERO addons enabled. Yet, the game keeps throwing (for exampleTUICD_Container_essential and TUICD_Container_utility) etc many errors at me! How is this even possible? You are saving corrupted ‘Edit Mode’ data on your servers and forcing it back onto my client even on a clean install. Your ‘Edit Mode’ system is literally haunting my character with data from addons that don’t exist anymore!
THE COOLDOWN VIEWER IS BROKEN: Every time I use an ability with charges as a BM Hunter (Bestial Wrath, Barbed Shot), I get spammed with: attempt to compare local 'charges' (a secret value). Your own internal CooldownViewer.lua can’t even read its own spell charges. It results in hundreds of LUA errors blocking my screen in the middle of combat.
EDIT MODE IS A JOKE: The UI is clunky, the CDM (Combat Damage Meter) is missing from the Edit Mode options, and the Quest Tracker is a bloated mess that can’t be properly resized or hidden. I’m trying to set up a ‘Default’ UI because your game won’t let me use addons, but even your Default UI is broken!
What exactly is the goal here, Blizzard? Is the plan to make the game so frustrating that we just quit? We are trying to play your new expansion, but we’re spending 90% of our time fighting your backend code instead of the mobs in the game.
Fix the server-side Layout synchronization. Fix the charges (secret value) bug. Stop forcing us to see errors for things that aren’t even there. This isn’t ‘Midnight’—it’s a technical eclipse. UNACCEPTABLE."
I’m using this version, and I’d say it works… well… kind of. I’m still getting a lot of errors, the nameplates are a complete mess and totally bugged, and just now I couldn’t even use the flight master because every time I opened the map it threw an error (relogging fixed it).
Exactly the same for me from vanilla. I just put my subscription on pause.I’ll see how it goes over the next few months but if it does not change I’ll just cancel subscription altogether. There is no need to break addons like weak auras being used for simple personal use. I just basically create my own UI with buffs, hp/pet, colldowns etc how I wanted it to look instead of Blizz’s archaic UI. But now because of some world 1st api abusers the WHOLE USERBASE has to suffer. Factor on top of this the abysmal campaign again (collect 10 bees, photograph 10 bees,feed ten 10 bees, take a selfie with bees with hats on…endless dross designed for 5 yr olds it seems). Seems like it is time to call it quits afetr 20yrs. The devs never learn, never embrace the functionality of these addons and why they were popular. They just get butt hurt that other people produce something far better than they can. Mardy kid throwing his sweets on the ground when his mom tells him to share them…
I cant even understand who are my friends or enemy with those nameplates ! Before it was a demn RED BAR, that show you its enemy, now all i see its class color and that usless written in it! HORIBLE HORIBLE!
Just a note from my side. I deleted the WTF folder and the cache folder. Shut the game down rebooted my machine and then did a scan and repair after. I did not get anymore LUA errors from old non exist addons or Elvui. For now that is it seems to be fixed.
Though I am not sure I want to play with the blizzard default UI as there are things I am just so used having at a quick glance. I will give it a bit more of a chance before I do make up my mind finally. Game time is running out shortly anyway.
Healing is a spec I will no longer play at all. Don’t care about those saying get gud with mouse over macros. Works for some does not work for others and I am one of those that just does not want to change my style. Hopefully they understand this and will allow some form of reprieve or introduce their own healing raid frames, but I would not expect this to be more than a half baked attempt.
Been destro lock since 2004, the “changes” made are not only useless but make no sense.
Rifts at 10% for over 5 hours not once activated, Rifts hold a very special memory of getting that talent in legion. All my characters had the outfits I wanted for them all reset and its cost over 10k already to change them back. This entire expansion feels focused on player housing
Holy nova has a CD of 30 seconds, this is the reality PC’s cost a fortune WOW is not on console
“new players” are not going to come to wow until that changes so in the meantime us long term players yet again have a series of changes that just remove and degrade player experience. I actually found some positives about WOD, This feels utterly pointless and depressing to the point i really think unless they have a massive rethink its time to move on.
Sometimes changing something because you can may not be the best idea.
Can totally see why, there’s one thing about making a healer think more but some of these changes are miserable, Holy Nova with a CD of 30 seconds..It wont be the devs being screamed at why no heals, that is not improving player experience that is just pushing players away.
Totally agree! this is not what I pay my money for, I am also going to pause my subscription and wait a month then, if its no better I am done. 20 years all for nothing, thanks Blizzard, and Chris Metzen., surely toy should have known better??
