I would share my experience. My account just got banned for 7 days. Reason for that is “abusive text - BLZ51900053”. I really wonder how far mass reporting can go when you have discussion with other players in this game.
We were in solo shuffle and were talking about strats (who we are going etc.), also having conversation about meta classes before the round started. Some part of “reported messages” also came from 1 random battleground - there was a guy transformed into skeleton, he looked like a one famous streamer so many of us were joking about it (even this guy). In both situations, nobody was strictly attacking on anyone, we had such a normal conversation.
Here is a list of marked words:
“outlaw brainded and busted”= I was playing outlaw in solo shuffle and was impressed about his crazy toolkit (double kidney with vanish leggo), so I mentioned it when we were talking about classes (yes, this spec is disgusting this season)
“you are insane boyz” = was meant as compliment, they played really well
“big dik biceps” = skeleton guy who were joking about it in same way as we did
Anyway, you can meet players who will just smash that report button because of used words. That is crazy.
So, what is the case? talking about class design with other players? joking about skeleton transform?
I feel like I should only talk to my friends through bnet/whisper chat (that is safe) or just consider qutting this game full of mass reports for everything.
Discussing a ban leads to another tbh, and not sure what you’re aiming to gain from this thread. If Blizzard has given you the ban, they must have looked at the logs and decided on such.
Since it doesn’t say what you were reported for in the email, and that 7 days is a long period for a first time ban, I would say either this isn’t your first ban or it was a really bad thing you said.
Remember the important rule, it’s not your intent but how the other person reads it, that includes jokey insults.
Wont lie, I do roll my eyes at these things but would never report it… it’s ridiculous that people do tbh. Even if you take it wrong… however that is possible it’s still weird.
I’ve even heard of people being afraid to say “hi” when joining a random group these days just incase someone is petty if the key fails or something and reports them.
I am not even upset, just wondering how careful you have to be when you are talking to other players (used words and language) even if you does not mean it “bad”
As mentioned earlier, what you and many would find amusing and harmless, others may take exception to, best bet is say ‘hi’ and get the group over with sadly.
Yee, seems so. Anyway guys, thanks for response. Just wanted to know what your point of view or experience is on this topic. I got some warnings a year ago, did not pay attention to it a much, because you know, mass report is a powerful tool (what can you do), so I got over it and kept doing my favorite content in this game.
Dude just ignore trolls like him who tell you that the ban is justified. If your story is true the ban is a joke. Guys like him are just rly bored with their life.
Its a joke that people can just mass report someone anywhere if they want and u get muted for it.
Shouldnt be like that, they should pay someone to look over it.
Have you tried speaking English when communicating with others?
I have absolutely no clue what you were trying to say with any of those phrases. Maybe try to communicate with people in a clear language, after all this is a multilingual game, and people might take certain things the wrong way.
Any of those phrases could have been taken the wrong way by someone who isn’t great at English. Plus I definitely would have reported you for the last one anyway.
Hi again, Trinketbuble. Can I ask some questions about the things you experienced the last few days before you get 7 days ban? Because we have some information about some mischievous bad boys and their connections to auto bans.
I see you have 463 honour level and surely you engaged some PvP.
1.) Do you have some exceptional PvP success that will make some people jealous? Or let’s ask this more direct way, do you have some enemies, powerful enemies maybe? Did you dispute or wrangled and won with some guys near past?
2.) You speak about a skeleton guy. Have you been in a new guild, a new PvP community or a new group of people that you didn’t meet before? More important yet, does someone invite you to such an environment by claiming you are a good player?
3.) You noticed a skeleton guy, that’s very good information. Have you ever noticed something unusual other than that? Unusual behaviours from your regular friends or some strangers behaving you very warm and welcoming, maybe with some free carries on your alts, maybe some other favours that will make you happy?
And don’t worry, your ban will appeal if you didn’t do something wrong. Just open a ticket and contact them.
And my humble word of advice for the future:
Do not use in-game communication tools, don’t even type a single letter on instance/group/party/raid chat, use discord.
Do not accept something, anything for free.
Be careful in a PvP environment, do not, never, ever discuss something with someone.
